I never miss appointments, but still, I won't expose myself to a policy that pushes any risk that comes with having a business onto clients. I understand having a fee and a 24-hr general policy, but to inflict such a high rate onto clients even if a last minute illness or emergency arises is unreasonable and unethical. What do they want, people showing up sick to infect the therapist and every subsequent client that therapist sees? That is what is implied with such an inflexible policy and there is no other interpretation for it. Profit first, therapist well-being way lower on that scale, client well-being at the very bottom. I'm not sure where the actual service or "care" falls on that scale; I guess it doesn't seem to me to be present at all, not in the eyes of the business anyway.

They still refused to work with us and had zero sympathy for our situation. Absolutely horrible service. I will find a more compassionate and understanding situation for my daughter.

Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. Over time, therapy became one-directional. Statements were accepted without clarification or exploration, and parental input was discouraged. I observed a pattern in which narratives from one household were accepted without balance, while my perspective as a parent was minimized. This dynamic appeared to strengthen alignment with one parent while further weakening my relationship with my children. Throughout years of therapy, the therapist never contacted me to provide an overview of progress, concerns, or themes being addressed. When I did reach out with concerns about statements being made, I was told the focus was solely on my child's feelings and that examining accuracy or context was not important. From my perspective, this prevented meaningful therapeutic work. In a family session lasting approximately 90 minutes, I was expected to sit silently while serious claims were made, with little to no therapeutic inquiry, questioning, or effort to understand context or accuracy. No meaningful intervention occurred, no repair work was attempted, and no plan was established to move the relationship forward. The result was increased estrangement rather than healing, with lasting consequences. Parents seeking therapy to repair parent-child relationships should ask detailed questions in advance about how parental perspectives are included, how competing narratives are explored, and how reconciliation is actively supported. Throughout the the years I tried counseling from several practitioners but never really felt a connection with anyone out there. I tried to deal with my anxiety on my own but at times it was overwhelming and it would only make things worse. My anxiety started to affect the people that I love the most. I didn't known what to do or who to reach out. Finally one day I started to look for help and came across Christina on this very cite. I started to read some of the reviews and I felt like I was reading my own story. I knew I had to call, so one day I did. They day I called I was very anxious, I was talking very fast to Christina and I was pacing in my front yard. Christina, with her soothing voice, asked me to find a place to sit and to start breathing slowly. I sat in the back of my tacoma and started to follow her instructions. I felt like gravity took over my body and for once, I felt very relaxed. It was like a jedi mind trick LOL.
