This is a pretty decent course, reasonable value and available to all. They did require gold shoes…read morewhen i went last, so you can forget looking fashionable for the afternoon :-) Its a well-kept course in a large, beautiful park. However, that can make it a little trickier to get to, and bear in mind any taxi rides if you are tempted by the decent value green fees. I often use a course in Balham which is more easily accessible, but the quality of this course means i will probably be back again. There is also a small food/drinks area which serves an essential cold beer from the tap : )

I've done my fair share of mini golf in the past but never properly swung a golf club so that my excuse for firing 100 balls and missing at the car. I did have my last shot sail right over the top of it, in line too so that was my win for actually hitting in the direction I wanted! Mouldy Fish, Awful Service & No Manager Food Quality…read more I ordered the Cod Supreme which looked amazing on the menu. When it arrived I started to eat the leeks first, then some of the broccoli on the side and finally started to eat the fish. About a quarter of the way through I noticed a strange taste that reminded me a bit of blue cheese (with no blue cheese in sight). I lifted the plate to my nose and after asking my partner, we both came to the conclusion the strong smell was mould. Then it hit me, so was the taste. I stopped eating the fish immediately and sent it back. I was disgusted and felt nauseous for the remainder of the day. Service The restaurants resolution to serving mouldy fish was, nothing. I was approached by a waiter, not a manager, head chef or senior member of staff and told "sorry, it's been taken off the bill". That was it. No explanation as to why they are service mouldy food at a premium price or offered of a glass of wine or even a secondary apology. This really made me mad. Why does a restaurant think that taking it off the bill is some kind of remedy? I wouldn't pay for mouldy fish in a supermarket so why do you think I would in your restaurant? It's not a resolution it's a slap in the face straight after making me eat terrible food. I would have never, in a million years, paid a penny for that plate of food so taking it off the bill isn't a resolution. Management After the meal I asked to speak with the manager about my bad experience and I was told by the bar staff he would go and get him. A few minutes later I was told he was writing an email and he'd be with me when he'd finished! WTF? Are you serious? The manger is going to make me wait because he's writing an email? I waited for a few minutes before asking the bar staff again what was going on? He apologised and then told me the real reason why I was not able the see the manager and believe it or not that was because he was in a meeting with the director. My chin hit the floor at this point. Well done Skylark you have reached the famous triple whammy of how NOT to run a restaurant. Sometimes you just can't make this stuff up! The irony of this terrible customer service experience was displayed by both the manager and director LIVE, no wonder they didn't have a clue in the restaurant. The leader of the entire establishment was more interested in his meeting about running a customer focused business than the customer itself! Forget the mouldy fish...that is nothing short of disgusting. Stay away from the Skylark Country Club. The answer to your upcoming experience is written in the name.

I've not been down to this golf course before as I'm not really into golf but I heard that you can…read moreplay footgolf (£8 for 9 holes) and the weather was good so we headed on down. Plenty of parking but once parked up it took a bit of searching to find the clubhouse. I had booked online but the guy on the till had no record of this, luckily it wasn't busy and we were given the balls and allowed straight out onto the 1st tee. The course isn't too tricky and well kept. It's easy to find your way around and we had a really enjoyable "round". I can definitely recommend this game to all with a slight interest in either sport. I was with the family on this visit and they all had a great time too, 9 holes was definitely enough for them but if I return with my mates we would probably do 18.

I played this course in a foursome in October 2008 and thought it was a great Municipal course…read more(owned by the local council). Although not as cheap as some others in the area(£23.50 for a weekend round) it represents good value for money. The course is in the parkland style with very little thick rough but a lot of trees. The fairways are good and I'd imagine the greens are great in the dry. Unfortunately, we played after a period of heavy rain and there was a lot of standing water. A few factors meant that I have not given it the highest score possible. Firstly, it is not clear where you have to pay as the pro shop and clubhouse are about 300m apart and there did not seem to be any clear direction on the way in. Secondly, we were not offered a course map and there is not one printed on the scorecard which meant we did not know the layout of the course including dog-legs and water features (watch out for the very large water filled ditch in front of the green on the 8th). This slowed our play at the start and did not help with shot selection on some holes. The proshop and clubhouse are good - offfering value for money food/drink at the 19th. The clubhouse is currently covered in scaffold but there appeared to be great views out over towards Southampton.

Im surprised that nobody has commented about this place, since it is well patronised,I love the…read moreplace, my enthusiasm for golf far exceeds my abysmal ability, this place is the easy way to have fun, nothing strenuous, just a pleasant par 3 course nice to walk round, doesnt take over long, and I always go with friends for that little bit of competition, recommended even if you have never held a club in your life. plenty of parking, and all clubs and balls supplied.
