I played this course in October 2008 as a foursome (in the rain). I phoned to reserve the course and slightly unusually they took a deposit - first time this has happened to me in my many years of playing. However, the cost of 18 holes is just £15 which is great value for money.
When we turned up we were informed of the marshalling on the course and told we had to play the front nine holes in 2 hours 15mins and if we were slow we would not be allowed to play the back nine. Although reasonable we thought it a little Draconian since there was virtually no one on the course.
The course itself is very good. The first two holes have a water feature in front of the greens which get you off to a good start. The rough is mid length grass so you might expect to lose a few balls but the fairways are fairly wide so quite forgiving. Remember to ask for a map when you pay up as it is separate to the scorecard.
The clubhouse is slightly unusual in that it doubles up as a Chinese restaurant. However, they do offer a range of sandwiches, etc from the bar. Overall, a great course representing fantastic value for money. read more
