My Experience With Cushing Automotive in Cushing, Texas…read more I want to share my recent experience with Cushing Automotive in Cushing, Texas, so others can make an informed decision. I took my 2017 Tahoe there to have the A/C repaired. The next day, I was told the condenser was bad and that it would cost approximately $1,000 to repair. I was told it would be ready Friday. I picked it up Friday at closing after they called and said it was ready. On the way home, I realized the A/C still wasn't cooling properly. I tried calling Monday, but couldn't get anyone to answer. I went back Tuesday and was told I would need to leave the Tahoe. I dropped it off Wednesday. Thursday, I was called and told there was nothing wrong with the A/C. I picked it up, but the problem continued. I brought it back the following Tuesday because it was still blowing hot air. At that point, I was told the HVAC box was bad and that replacing it would cost approximately $6,500. I was also charged a $126 diagnostic fee. Today, I took my Tahoe to NAPA in Henderson for another opinion. They repaired the A/C and I was also informed that 1.2 pounds of additional Freon had been put into the system, this likely caused damage to the compressor. I am extremely disappointed that I was first charged around $1,000 for a repair that did not fix the problem, then told I needed a $6,500 repair, when another shop was able to fix the A/C for just over 1k. I went back today to see if Cushing Automotive would make things right. Evan did refund the $126 diagnostic fee, but he refused to pay for the damage and additional expenses caused by his incorrect repair. I was also informed today that Jason is no longer the owner of the establishment and that Evan is now taking over. I want to make that distinction because this review is about my experience with the service I received from Evan. What makes this especially disappointing is that I have used Jason before and had a completely different experience. The quality of work Jason provided was good, and I trusted that the job was done right. The quality of work I received from Evan was not the same. I am sharing this experience because I believe customers deserve to know what happened before deciding where to take their vehicles.
