Very Disappointing Experience--Would Not Recommend I had high hopes for this school, but after nearly two years, I deeply regret our decision to enroll my daughter here. There were numerous issues that impacted her education and well-being, and I feel compelled to share our experience in the hope that it helps other parents make a more informed decision. Lack of Enrichment & SupportFirst, the school offers very few extracurricular activities. The options that do exist are expensive, with activities like coding ($100) and dance requiring ongoing monthly fees. I signed my daughter up for a few things, only to find that she wasn't allowed to participate until I intervened--by which point, most of the year had passed. Additionally, there is no school lunch program, except for a pre-ordered emergency lunch option, and the only mode of transportation is an old, unreliable bus that circles the block. Classroom ConditionsThe majority of classes are held in outdated trailers. These are often cold and uncomfortable, and my daughter was regularly asked to remove her jacket, even when it met the school's uniform guidelines. The overall environment felt unwelcoming, and it was clear that classroom conditions were not conducive to learning. Parental Involvement and CommunicationI found myself doing most of the teaching at home. My daughter had to navigate several different educational websites on her own, but she consistently struggled to complete tasks without my help. Communication with the school was also problematic. The front desk was often unresponsive, and I had to wait at the door for long periods just to pick my child up early. Disrespectful and Inappropriate DisciplineThe most distressing part of our experience was how my daughter was treated by some of the staff. In kindergarten, she was suspended for drawing on a wall--a minor incident that could have been handled with a conversation or redirection. Instead, the school resorted to suspension, which was completely inappropriate for a 6-year-old. When I raised concerns about the way her teacher, Ms. Xie, was treating her, I received no answers, and the principal made it seem like there was something wrong with my child. It was disheartening, especially since her doctor assured me that her behavior was perfectly normal for her age. Unfair Treatment and FavoritismThis year, things did not improve. My daughter's new teacher, Ms. Sun, initially seemed nice but quickly became a source of stress. She was extremely quick to give negative points and rarely offered praise. I found myself receiving multiple calls every week about my daughter's "behavior," which was often exaggerated and inaccurate. On one occasion, my daughter was excited to wear a birthday tiara as part of her Halloween costume, only to have it forcibly removed by Ms. Sun. Other children wore their costume accessories with no issue, so it felt like this was a personal decision on the teacher's part. During a birthday celebration at lunch, Ms. Sun's behavior was particularly troubling. She treated my daughter's efforts to share cupcakes with her classmates in a dismissive and unfair way, showing clear favoritism by prioritizing one child over the others. This type of behavior, coupled with frequent shouting and harsh discipline, made my daughter dread going to school. Concerning Class Size and Teacher TurnoverTo make matters worse, my daughter's kindergarten class size dropped significantly--from about 24-28 students to around 14. I was informed by staff that many of the kindergarteners were asked to repeat the year, and the parents transferred their children to other schools as a result. This speaks volumes about the quality of education and the overall experience at the school. Final ThoughtsThe stress from the school took a serious toll on our family. My daughter, who once enjoyed learning, began to repeatedly tell me she hated school. After witnessing firsthand how the staff treated her, I decided to transfer her to a new school. The change has been night and day. She is thriving in her new environment, where she's receiving the support, respect, and encouragement she deserves. I would not recommend this school to other parents. The lack of proper support, inconsistent discipline, and unprofessional behavior from staff members made our experience extremely negative. If you're looking for a nurturing, positive school experience for your child, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. read more

as a student DO NOT COME HERE, they are strict, have no gym, the classrooms look so bad and are uncomfortable, some chairs are literally basically broken, there only one class per grade unless they get split up bc there is too much people, if students don't bring lunch they only get the emergency lunch thing even if you don't want it, they are literally so broke and can't afford proper materials for students, in the classrooms they are either hot or cold and they absolutely STINK. DONT COME HERE UNLESS ITS YOUR ONLY/LAST OPTION, the teachers force you to do stuff for example the dance teacher literally makes you do the dance perfectly and you have to do it or you get like bad things, silent lunch, lunch detention, suspension, no recess and stuff like that like broooo and the whole place is so small it couldn't even be a elementary school the cafeteria has like 6-7 tables only and genuinely dont go here like look at the other reviews, some people get bullied and shi and there is only one bus too which sucks and isn't even that safe read more

Yeah it's really a bad school. Especially the principal who is very rude to the staff. She doesn't know how to do conflict resolution. She talks down to the teachers and faculty members. There's no security in the school. Sometimes I felt unsafe because you had parents who didn't have any boundaries. The teachers weren't protected. My daughter went to the school and she was being bullied. I got out of the school really quickly. It was a good decision because now many other teachers are quitting the school. Do not work at East Voyager Academy it will be the worst decision you have ever made. read more
