We were on our way to Florida. Moving to Florida in fact. My Daddy was towing a camper. We had started to have problems back in VA but had nursed it as far as we could. At some point near Orangeburg it just couldn't make it up another hill. We slept in my car at a Pilot station. In the morning a clerk there recommended Thomas. Thank goodness for that!!! He came as soon as he could. Recognizing how desperate we were for help, he moved some other appointments around in order to help us get back on the road. Daddy felt sure the problem was the oxygen sensors because he had a code reader hooked up to his truck. Thomas replaced those but it didn't solve the problem. He said after doing some other diagnostics that he thought it was a bad fuel pump. He got this replaced in record time, checked to make sure all was well and got us back on our way. This all would have been plenty to have received a four star rating from us. What took it over the top was that he followed up with a phone call later to make sure everything had worked well and that we had made the trip safely. Wow! That's great service!

It took him 10 minutes to figure out the problem. AC compressor and broken serpentine belt. 20 minutes later he had the parts off and went to get replacements. Unfortunately it is a 1999 and the parts had to come from the ford dealership in Columbia. I did take two days to come in due to us breaking down so late in the day. Kelvin had his daughter pick it up at 4:30 and drive it to the shop. Eddie said he would be there to put it in. I was worried at 9PM when he wasn't there but figured he would come in the morning. At 10pm he showed up after his service call on 95 and put the rig back together in about 45 minutes. The only reason I can do 5 stars is the cost was more than I thought it would be. $1250 was steep however the work was done at the Exxon station we were broken down at so an up charge is expected. Eddie our mechanic was knowledgeable, personable and had integrity. He gave me his personal cell and answered lol of my cell phone calls over the two days to assure me he would take care of the repair and he did exactly what he did he would do.

I was also promised a receipt would be emailed to me, but as of this review, I still have not received it despite multiple requests. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company. The lack of follow-through, concerns about pricing, and the unsafe driving during the tow outweighed the one positive aspect, which was the quick tire change. After reading other customers' reviews and having this experience myself, I would choose a different provider in the future.

Being from out of town I had no idea where to tow it. Got on Yelp, called Davidson Towing and he answered right away, told me not to worry he'd be there in 20-30 mins. He arrived as promised, got my car on the flatbed and took it back to his shop to be kept overnight. He has a calm and reassuring demeanor which was much appreciated. He took at look at the obvious culprits for my car breaking down and wasn't able to spot anything so he worked the next day to find a solution but wasn't able to. Then convincing me to buy a new engine that they installed. When the car overheated, Dustin gave wrong advice on how to keep the car from overheating. And we are now having to get every seal replaced in the newer engine. Bolts were missing, including all for the motor mount. I am now having to spend that money again to get the engine repaired. On the 5th you picked it up. On 2/7 you recommended wiring the car to have fans in at all times because he couldn't get them to turn on when the temp hits "210" degrees. I spent hours waiting for other companies, who kept telling me I was "almost next" or that there was only one person ahead of me. I even walked 2.5 miles down the road to the next exit to get diesel in a canister, but unfortunately, they were closed.
