It has a main counter section of fresh fish with all the usuals but also has some hard to get fish like ahi tuna, mahi mahi, swordfish, Chilean sea bass, octopi, live lobsters and blue marlin. Less rare and more traditional choices available to buy include salmon, snapper, halibut, mussels, oysters and clams. They have a wall at the back of the shop lined with stand up freezers with everything frozen with some additional choices to the fresh side like salted cod, smoked eels, monkfish. They also have a small open fridge with meats and sausages from Canmore's Valabella line, the pates are excellent! The one downside to NSFM is the prices, if the local superstore has the same thing your after which if it's the usual seafood you can probably save a few dollars, but if your after something a bit different then these might just have what your looking for but will cost you a little more! On the whole if you like seafood and want a treat then your sure to find something at NSFM, the staff are friendly and helpful with a good knowledge of everything seafood related.

According to the report, the following issues were found at Seafood City: * Evidence of cockroaches throughout the facility * Live cockroaches observed beside and below steam tables * Glue boards filled with cockroaches in different life stages * Cockroach droppings/frass found on surfaces * No effective pest control program in place * Holes and gaps creating pest harborage areas * Heavy grease and food debris buildup behind and below equipment * High-risk foods stored at unsafe hot holding temperatures (31°C-47°C instead of 60°C+) * Cooked and partially cooked meats left at room temperature * Hand wash station missing paper towels * Food containers blocking hand wash sinks * Utensils stored inside hand wash sink basins * Dirty, food-encrusted serving utensils observed * No effective cleaning schedule in place These are very serious concerns for a food establishment serving the public. I truly hope management takes immediate and thorough action to correct these issues before reopening or continuing operations. Public health and food safety should always come first.
