Lannon's Animal Hospital - Emergency Vet-Elizabeth City,NC. He's never been this relaxed. They are Phenomenal!!!

The beginning of February 2026 I came home to a significant amount of blood and exudate coming…read morefrom my dog's rectum. I called Dr's Lannon's and asked for advice and asked if we could have my dog seen. We sent pics and received a response basically blowing us off. We sought an online vet and ultimately after jumping through a lot of hoops have been treating him with antibiotics and steroids with slight improvement. Dr Lannon's current staff implied we were lying about his treatment and to return to where we took him because there's no way we could get steroids by mail in NC which is accurate information(we had it mailed to family in FL and sent here). We've also been told due to my dog's size to seek treatment elsewhere but when my husband dropped by in person to discuss the matter there was a Neapolitan Mastiff larger than our dog waiting to be seen. Go figure. Prior to this incident, We've been limping along since COVID knowing he's not really a favorite of the office since some of the previous vet techs that he liked have left the practice. After this ordeal, there's absolutely no way I would recommend wasting your time or theirs which is what it would turn into if you bothered trying to have your pets treated there. I trust Dr Lannon 100 % but her current staff is lacking honesty, integrity ,and the grit it takes to be in the industry. They've had some great techs=Chris Haupu, Mary & Zoey were excellent and understanding with my dog and are sorely missed. I understand why techs are nervous about dealing with large breeds but, I have an email from that my dog is welcome, but his chart is marked that he's not. All the current staff can assume is to be fearful, and in that case they might as well work with bunnies. I admit my dog becomes temperamental when his feet or nether regions are examined but his chart is marked accordingly. There was an appointment in the past that his chart was ignored and a minor incident occurred. Things happen when you deal with animals, and we've done everything in our power to ensure that all staff is reminded not to ignore our safety warnings and we basket muzzle him for everyone's safety and we also offer to be on standby to render any assistance needed. I'm in patient care and have had large animal experience(I've had horses and been around animals my entire life), and my pet is 150 lbs so we understand the importance of safety. My boy would never intentionally want to hurt anyone. He's reactive, and we want to make sure everyone is safe. I'm disappointed to say the very least , and I don't want anyone else or their pet to suffer the pain and the wait that we've endured. I've tried to do my best to handle this on my own but, there's only so much I can do. Update:I finally took him to the emergency vet and he has CANCER(Two Tumors). They were phenomenal w/him. They loved him and he loved them. Just goes to show what having the right environment will do, now we can move forward finding him the treatment he deserves so, that hopefully he can go on and live out his best life. Update:Pasquotank Animal Hospital: Dr Blake Lucas saw my boy on Tuesday 4/14/26. He was comfortable, and again so much so laid down, relaxed and went along w/the program. The vet tech loved him, and they got on just fine. He ended up having surgery the same afternoon. Thanks to Dr Lucas and staff for listening to concerns, heeding our cautions w/regards to his reactive tendencies when his touchy feet and "personal areas" are dealt with, and for treating my boy and us w/professionalism and respect. It is much appreciated!!!!

My absolute favorite doggy daycare. Make sure you take advantage of a referral. Let them know I…read moresent you ! If I could give more than 5 stars, I'd break Yelp's rating scale. This doggy daycare is the ultimate luxury retreat for pups--think canine country club with heart. From the moment I (Lexi the Bougie BT) strut through the doors, I'm treated like the royalty I am. The entire staff is amazing--genuinely loving, attentive, and totally in tune with every dog's personality. But the real stars of the show? Anthony and Michael, the owners, are top-tier, hands-on, always-on-site superheroes. They're there every single day--greeting us with love, making sure every detail is flawless, and creating an environment that feels like home... but better. But don't you worry, they even have cameras so that you can watch from home? And oh baby, the perks of this place: * Pool Days (yes, I splash with my squad) * Treat Parties * Photoshoots (hello, content!) * Outdoor Activities * My Boston Terrier crew--yes, I roll with a whole Boston gang! But that's not all... this place has a full-on doggy spa. * Nail trims * Ear cleanings * Teeth brushing * Luxurious baths and blowouts It's giving "spa day meets play day" and I'm absolutely here for it. And if you're traveling? No problem--they offer overnight accommodations so your pup can stay safe, comfy, and loved while you're away. No crates, no worries--just snuggles and structure. This isn't just doggy daycare--it's a lifestyle. A wellness center. A social club. A pampering palace. I go every day and I genuinely LOVE it. If you're looking for a place that will care for your pup like family, keep them active, clean, stylish, and social--this is it. So we used to drive 30 plus mins awat to take our 2 dogs (Rhodesian Ridgeback and a Westie /Jack…read moreRussell mix) to another kennel. They were just ok. Our dogs are our little furkids, so them being taken care of the same way we care for them is what we want from every kennel. So when I drove past this kennel and then proceeded to look them up I became very interested at switching kennels. I stopped by a week before to get the walk around. I was blown away by what I saw and Krista's professionalism. I switched kennels immediately and had our dogs stay there for a week. The following items listed below are why we will never go anywhere else and I will recommend this place to everyone I know. 1. The kennels the dogs sleep in are extremely clean, have AC/heat, a wooden couch, a doggie door, and more room than I have ever seen over the last 8 years. 2. The ranch has over 20 acres of playing area. The ranch is very clean, well maintained, and gives your dogs a lot of space to play or relax in the sun. 3. Our dogs got hours of supervised playtime a couple times a day. Our dogs came home and passed out immediately once we picked them up. 4. They are exceptionally priced (She could charge a lot more and we would pay it) 5. Krista- Last but not least, she is the number one reason we will LOVE this kennel and will go back. She is professional and very informative about how she cares for the dogs. She sent pictures and updates about how our dogs were doing every day! It made us feel very taken care of as customers and dog owners. She even watches to see were the dogs like to lie down in their large kennels and moves the beds to the spots they prefer to be in the room. She also played music and countless other little small things to make sure that our dogs did not stress about us dropping them off and leaving. Its small things like this that set this place apart from every place we've kenneled our dogs over the years of moving around the country for the military. The dogs appeared to always be clean in the pictures we got and when we picked them up they both smelled and looked great! Krista treated our dogs as if they were her own. There are very few people in this world we feel 100% comfortable with taking care of our dogs and she is one of them. This place will be our home away from home for ours dogs. In a way it's a mini vacation paradise for our furkids. We LOVE this place!!

It's always tough leaving the pups, especially when I've had bad boarding experiences in the past…read more This was the first time I didn't feel stressed leaving them! I received updates and pictures everyday. I could tell the staff cared for my dogs, as if they were their own fur babies! Their communication and flexibility made the boarding process so easy. I will be sending my dogs here every time!
