So we used to drive 30 plus mins awat to take our 2 dogs (Rhodesian Ridgeback and a Westie /Jack Russell mix) to another kennel. They were just ok. Our dogs are our little furkids, so them being taken care of the same way we care for them is what we want from every kennel. So when I drove past this kennel and then proceeded to look them up I became very interested at switching kennels. I stopped by a week before to get the walk around. I was blown away by what I saw and Krista's professionalism. I switched kennels immediately and had our dogs stay there for a week. The following items listed below are why we will never go anywhere else and I will recommend this place to everyone I know. 1. The kennels the dogs sleep in are extremely clean, have AC/heat, a wooden couch, a doggie door, and more room than I have ever seen over the last 8 years. 2. The ranch has over 20 acres of playing area. The ranch is very clean, well maintained, and gives your dogs a lot of space to play or relax in the sun. 3. Our dogs got hours of supervised playtime a couple times a day. Our dogs came home and passed out immediately once we picked them up. 4. They are exceptionally priced (She could charge a lot more and we would pay it) 5. Krista- Last but not least, she is the number one reason we will LOVE this kennel and will go back. She is professional and very informative about how she cares for the dogs. She sent pictures and updates about how our dogs were doing every day! It made us feel very taken care of as customers and dog owners. She even watches to see were the dogs like to lie down in their large kennels and moves the beds to the spots they prefer to be in the room. She also played music and countless other little small things to make sure that our dogs did not stress about us dropping them off and leaving. Its small things like this that set this place apart from every place we've kenneled our dogs over the years of moving around the country for the military. The dogs appeared to always be clean in the pictures we got and when we picked them up they both smelled and looked great! Krista treated our dogs as if they were her own. There are very few people in this world we feel 100% comfortable with taking care of our dogs and she is one of them. This place will be our home away from home for ours dogs. In a way it's a mini vacation paradise for our furkids. We LOVE this place!! read more

So grateful to have found this dog ranch run by Krista and her staff! A neighbor recommended her to me. This was only the second time I had to board my unsocialized pup. I was so nervous but Krista was so welcoming and is practically an expert at interpreting dog behavior. I loved that we were able to do a meet and greet before my pups stay. She introduced her wonderful dogs to our dog and quickly determined our pup would be a good fit. She gave us a tour of the the dog ranch which was impressive. I was relieved my pup would have is own large temperature controlled room to sleep in. Their dog ranch is very organized, they have an excellent system in place and routine for the dogs, lots of play time! I love that the dogs can all play outside, and that I was sent pictures of my happy dog daily. When our stay was prolonged one day, Krista accomodated us and our pup was able to stay an extra night, I would recommend bringing extra dog food in case you may return a day later than anticipated. I liked that we were able to bring our pups kennel that he loves to sleep in and his bedding. My dog has some anxiety so Krista recommended bringing boiled chicken and rice in case he didn't want to eat, that was a great idea and I love that they have a fridge to keep pets food as well. I would definitely recommend Ballypines dog ranch to anyone who wants their pet to be well cared for. It was good to not be stressed about my pups stay away from us, I completely trust them with caring for my dog. I also like that they require dogs to have all shots including the flu vaccine, bordetella vaccine and a recent fecal/stool test. In this regard it may cost more than other dog boarding facilities (that's because this is nothing like your typically dog boarding facility ) and is definitely worth it so you know your dog is less likely to get sick during their stay. My pup was so tired for two days after he returned home because he had a blast playing all day! We are looking forward to his next stay! read more

Great boarding facility. Very well run. My dogs are on a complex medication regimen and they made sure to take the time to understand the meds, schedule, and how to give it if it needed to be hidden. They keep them on a good schedule and my dogs come home very happy and are glad to go back. They also made sure to send pictures each day and my dogs always seemed to be "smiling" in them. read more

We recently found ourselves in need of a place to board our rescue German Shepherd for 10 days. Up until then we had never boarded her. She has separation anxiety so we were very stressed about it. We do take her to daycare an average of 2x/week for her to play and although they do offer boarding they weren't during the time that we needed. I happened to mention our dilemma to a friend and she told me about Krista and Ballypines. We went for a tour and instantly fell in love with the Ranch and Krista! We knew we had found the perfect place for our girl. Although we were still stressing somewhat about leaving her, it did not have to do with not trusting Krista or her staff, it was just the thought of leaving her for so long and not wanting her to think that we abandoned her. While we were away we received lots of pictures on a daily basis that showed us that she was having a wonderful time and was being very well taken care of. She clearly thought she was at "doggie camp". We will most definitely be using Ballypines for our "go to" boarding facility. Krista and her staff are incredible. Becky J here again and no I'm not a troll of this business or an employee. My husband and I have an eight-year-old German Shepherd who loves this place (we do too). Krista and her staff are awesome and love all their guests. They even go to the trouble of putting our dog's thunder shirt on when the area is getting storms. Our baby has stayed here about 7 to 8 times (the longest for 13 days). Before we found Ballypines we used to take our baby to another kennel in Chesapeake and she would start shaking and have a fit. It was quite a battle for them to take her to the back. The dogs were kept in crates and you were not allowed to go back where the dogs slept or played. At Ballypines everything is open and available for your viewing. While our dog still has anxiety issues when we drop her off, she immediately settles down and start playing with her new friends. We DO NOT plan a vacation until we know we have a reservation for our baby here. 5 stars all the way! read more

We just moved here and dreaded finding a kennel. This is less like a kennel and more like a dog resort. BEAUTIFUL fenced in 10acres that Krista allows the dogs to run with her while she is outside and really gives them free range after a "personality check" with other dogs. One of our dogs had surgery two days before we dropped them off and she was AMAZING in caring for him. She sent us pictures daily and kept us up to date on eating and physical activities. She loves animals and it shows. She lives on the property so she is essentially with them 24 hours a day. The kennel has A/C and heat and the kennels are HUGE! They all have wooden benches for the pups to sleep on and she welcomes you to bring whatever they need to feel comfortable. They get plenty of exercise and rest! When I showed up, they couldn't stop playing with her and ignores me! I loved that and it proves she treated them well and they enjoyed the 4 days there. She will be our forever fur baby sitter!!!! VERY reasonable pricing and the best place to leave your fur babies!!! read more
