I am a nursing mom with a baby -- driving back to Boston that day was really not an option for me. I nearly begged the receptionist on the phone if she could possibly squeeze me in for a 15 min appointment so the dentist could just cement my crown back in temporarily -- to prevent any damage to my actual tooth, so it would last for a couple of days until we drove back. While she was polite on the phone -- she expressed zero sympathy, compassion or empathy and it was clear that she couldn't care less about me or my emergency situation. When I got to Boston I texted a new dentist recommended by a friend (it so happened that my dentist had retired two weeks prior to this). The treatment that his office and his receptionist showed me (calling me over the weekend to make sure I was okay and then squeezing me in to be seen the next morning) -- was in stark contrast with this office. It's absolutely clear to me where I'll be taking my business.

I trusted Dr. Taylor's choice and feel he did well. For over a year now I have gone in for my regular checkups at Dr. Reeder's office with no problems. In February, 2018 I realized I needed a hip replacement. I saw my primary care doctor, as advised, for my pre-op evaluation and was cleared for surgery. Then two weeks before I was scheduled for my hip replacement surgery I discovered a problem in my mouth. I called Dr. Reeder's office explained my concern. They got me in to the office immediately. After examining my mouth Dr. Reeder discovered I had an abscess under one of my teeth. Knowing I was going in for major surgery he set out to help me address the problem which included having a permanent bridge installed. This went forward amazingly smoothly because he has the latest technology at his fingertips and a wonderful support staff. Due to no fault of Dr. Reeder, or his support staff, the bridge didn't arrive by UPS as promised the Thursday before my scheduled surgery on Tuesday of the following week. He learned that it was at the distribution site in St. Johnsbury. The next morning, Friday, he drove over personally and picked up my permanent bridge and had me into his office at 12:00 PM calmly putting it into my mouth. I left an hour later ready for surgery and five weeks post-surgery I can happily report I have no complications from either procedure. If you are looking for a capable, caring, compassionate dentist I highly recommend Dr. Reeder. He is exceptional in the field of dentistry and cares about his patients health and well-being. I feel the same about his stellar support staff. They all work together to help make dental care go smoothly.

I was told I would be charged $300 by the dentist, to which I replied I would not pay that for simple dental paste but needed to have it fixed. In the chair, the dentist bargained with me as though he were at an outdoor market, telling me he'd do it for $150. He yelled and screamed before making the very simple repair which was completed less than a minute later, spending much more time yelling than repairing. This was really an experience with a very mentally ill person who somehow is still allowed to practice healthcare. The receptionist was incredibly nice and felt terrible for me, she was mortified by what had happened, and the charge. This dentist simply should not be practicing. I hope this review can help others to stay away.
