I called there because I worked with them and their residents when I was a Hospice social worker for a hospital in Lincoln, NE. Because that previous experience is so much fun and interesting working with great staff and wonderful residents, I thought volunteering there would be the perfect place. I called the office and spoke with a woman. I told her what I wanted to do but she was very rude. She transferred the call to another person. The next woman was just as rude as the previous one. I decided not to volunteer with Eastmont. I didn't want to surround myself with rude and grumpy staff. I did get a call from upper management. She was very kind. I appreciated her apologizing for her rude employees. Eastmont gives great care to its residents. I hope that never changes. Since renovating their facility/home, it is a beautiful and comfortable environment. I gave them a lower review so they will learn to hold people accountable. I believe everyone should be treated with kindness and being polite. read more

Our mother was at Eastmont, recently, for over six months. The best thing was the experiences provided by Carol every day during the week! Mom played Bingo and won snacks, watched movies, was involved in Tasty Tuesday, participated in wonderful craft projects and there was also a a variety of entertainment brought in for the residents. Carol was a very caring person who made the residents feel special with every interaction. Sadly, Carol is leaving Eastmont May 2024 (budget cuts?). I know that Eastmont has earned a 5-Star ratings in all the skill, physical, and activities areas that are needed to have the highest rating of a Life Care Community. I experienced Eastmont when I was as a caregiver when my mother became a resident in 1968. What is said on Eastmontliving.com when you click on "Eastmont Way" is "We are committed to exceeding your expectations". I have been a Care Giver since 1966 when my father, who was a teacher for Lincoln Public School, was killed in a train/car accident on my 20th birthday. I was in college and worked with Dad doing grain farming. My Mother was on home leave from the State of Nebraska Mental Hospital. She had never lived alone. She rose to the occasion of preparing meals, etc. and caring for our home. I graduated from Wesleyan in 1968 and was going to Pennsylvania with a full scholarship, where I earned a Ph.D. in Science at the University of Pennsylvania. Eastmont's concept was a Life Care Community, which is the highest level of Continuum Care Retirement Community and was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1968. Due to a "God-incident", my mother was an original resident when Eastmont opened because they were not able to sell an independent living apartment in the basement. Eastmont needed full occupancy to covert the construction loan into a mortgage loan. Her age was below the advertised minimum age. Her church, who was among the churches promoting Eastmont, knew that if I left Lincoln, it was likely she would again become hospitalized. She chose her mission at Eastmont to be making over 300 handmade birthday cards every year for every Eastmont resident and employee. She lived at Eastmont for 43 years. After we moved into Eastmont in 2016, Eastmont partnered with Transforming Age, a national non-profit with the same mission in 2019. The $50 Million Expansion means that by 2022, when it is completed our 5-Star rating expectations in 2016 will be greatly exceeded. read more

My sons recommended Eastmont when I wanted to move. I moved during the Pandemic and things turned out better than I expected. I lived in the lovely town of Fremont and when I decided to move to Lincoln, I intended to purchase a Duplex or townhouse. I had to give up driving and felt sad asking friends for rides to activities. I decided to move to Eastmont and am very happy I did. I think I might have become a hermit if I hadn't. I have met many fun and interesting new friends and I have found many previous friends that now live here too. I can go anywhere I want on the Eastmont van. I went back to Fremont for a funeral of a friend and was happy to say that "I was going home" when I returned to Eastmont. I am comforted to know that I will have lifetime care without having to apply or move to another facility. I enjoy the entertainment and exercise classes and I have a lovely large apartment with a cute bird feeder attached to my window looking out over a beautiful large tree. There are many varied activities going on at Eastmont. I enjoy the delicious meals where I often sit with different Eastmont friends. read more

I placed a prior complaint regarding Eastmont assisted living. We had some very legitimate issues. I am happy to say that they addressed all of our concerns and things are going GREAT! My father in law is receiving wonderful care. Many thanks to all who helped with this change! read more
