But the clinic has 2 problems. Says it's a Walk In but they do everything in their power not to let you walk in. I don't mind waiting, I inderstand they're busy and I need to wait when I walk in. But sometimes unforeseen health issues can happen over night or the day before and you need a walk in. The second problem is one of the receptionists. Bad attitude, you always feel like you're a nuisance she can't wait to get rid of. Very cold and detached, borderline rude. Once she made me state outloud I had a UTI infront of a patient.. She kept asking me to say it louder .Has zero sensibility. She has nothing to do in the healthcare business. If it wasn't for the receptionist and the lack of walk in access, this clinic would be a 5 star.

They don't inform you that the doctor does phone calls and also open on Sunday, I was racing from work for the last appointment. My final experience they book a phone call appointment for me at 430 "because she does her calls at the end of the day". Doctor called at 3pm while I'm still at work so I miss the call...when you call back they have an "oh well attitude you missed your appointment". They need to revamp the front end staff. Need to find a different doctor due to too many issues trying to get pass the games at the front.

She'd refer to me by my deadname that she clearly saw made me extremely uncomfortable, repeatedly, loudly for everyone to hear. And then she went yelling out my deadname, repeatedly, out loud to the doctor, asking him if they can provide services for me. I was then refused services, because my Alberta health card had my deadname on it. And my new legal name is different. I left in an extremely distressed state. Some of the staff could've been a lot more tactful and educated in their behaviour and approach towards me. Even if they had to turn me down, it could be done a lot more differently and not led me to the distressed, dysphoria induced state that they led me to. Technically, Triggering some of my conditions and causing me further harm, as medical personnel...for the conditions that I came to get assessed for, in order to receive my drivers medical examination. 0/10 would not recommend. Steer clear if you are not cis, are suffering from certain conditions, and need to get your driving medical examination done. Stay safe!

As I have very complex health problems I needed a family doctor. I was fortunate enough to get to be Dr Botha at Santimed to be my family doctor. I am that person who can write the uncommon side effects warnings on medication. It is a case of that is not supposed to happen and then surprise it happens to me. Dr Botha really goes out of his way to help. Unfortunately he is also part of the Alberta Health system, so even if he wanted to he can't just jump the line with referrals, he has to follow the rules set by Alberta Health. In the more than 20 years I had been living in Calgary, I have learned that the politicians that control Alberta Health haven't got the faintest idea of medicine. They are merely a lot of politicians, who are trying their best to sound important, but only goes on to complicate even the simplest, most cost efficient solution, with so much rules that medicine becomes a very expensive, time consuming circus of expense.

Claim ends up thru WCB, after literally months of back and forth trying to get them to simply give the file to WCB I find out that in my file he had written down the wrong knee having issues! Apparently they can't accept email, everything has to be by fax?! They said they never got faxes, never got letters, even after I could confirm that they did. Go get the MRI, I call them a week later to ask if they got it... they tell me no, but the doctor will call me right after they get it... the next day WCB calls they got it on the Friday before and have already had a doctor write a report. I give Excel 3 more days, I call and they lie to me saying they only got the MRI yesterday! Doctor still hasn't called. It's not just a single doctor, it seems they have their front staff lying to clients and very hard to work with. I emailed them asking if they would take a complaint before I posted this.... they haven't bother to respond.

Then I'm taken back to one of the patients' rooms and have to wait another 30 minutes before the dr. comes in. After explaining my issue and history with back problems, and how I've never had any sort of scan performed to get a deeper understanding of what might be the cause, I'm told to take muscle relaxants, watch physio videos on YouTube, and wait to see what happens. Wow, I should've been a doctor... Even after confirming my name when he walked in, the dr mistakenly pulls up another patient's information on his computer and is glancing at that throughout the visit, mentioning how I've been on another medication previously for pain (which is not correct because he's not looking at my file). All this is realized as I'm walking to the pharmacy afterwards however, as I was ultimately handed a prescription with someone else's name and insurance info on it. So, I've just been told about another patient's personal medical history with pain meds and have the ability to use his name and insurance to get a prescription... By this point the dr had already began assisting another patient, so I'm told by staff to wait AGAIN until he's finished so the prescription can be corrected!! Brilliant. Decided I had enough of my time wasted and walked out. Stunned by the mismanagement and inefficiency of this clinic.

Their organization is not the greatest either, as I was finally able to get through to them yesterday, I was told I would receive my prescription refill today-- and to put it lightly, I'm now on 4 days without my daily prescription that is quite dangerous to stop taking, and as of right now, I have been on the line, listening to their line ring for 14 minutes and 27 seconds, to be exact. I guess I will just deal with the life threatening side effects? To make matters worse, this has been a recurring issue, I try to actively avoid visiting my family doctor because I'm very very limited for time as I seldom get days off in the week, and it's just usually more stressful trying to get through of book an appointment, that I avoid it all together. unfortunately I am likely going to have to look for a new family clinic for my family, despite our love for Dr. Adesina.
