Love this idea and something that I have never encountered. At the initial appointment, we chatted about my health, concerns and all that other good stuff. It was very relaxing and not rushed at all. The Dr recommended I make another appointment to come back to do an initial exam and all that other good stuff like blood work so we can start off fresh as patient - Dr. A great first experience and looking forward to coming back and having a new Dr in #YYC. Claim ends up thru WCB, after literally months of back and forth trying to get them to simply give the file to WCB I find out that in my file he had written down the wrong knee having issues! Apparently they can't accept email, everything has to be by fax?! They said they never got faxes, never got letters, even after I could confirm that they did. Go get the MRI, I call them a week later to ask if they got it... they tell me no, but the doctor will call me right after they get it... the next day WCB calls they got it on the Friday before and have already had a doctor write a report. I give Excel 3 more days, I call and they lie to me saying they only got the MRI yesterday! Doctor still hasn't called. It's not just a single doctor, it seems they have their front staff lying to clients and very hard to work with. I emailed them asking if they would take a complaint before I posted this.... they haven't bother to respond.

After explaining my issue and history with back problems, and how I've never had any sort of scan performed to get a deeper understanding of what might be the cause, I'm told to take muscle relaxants, watch physio videos on YouTube, and wait to see what happens. Even after confirming my name when he walked in, the dr mistakenly pulls up another patient's information on his computer and is glancing at that throughout the visit, mentioning how I've been on another medication previously for pain (which is not correct because he's not looking at my file). All this is realized as I'm walking to the pharmacy afterwards however, as I was ultimately handed a prescription with someone else's name and insurance info on it. So, I've just been told about another patient's personal medical history with pain meds and have the ability to use his name and insurance to get a prescription... By this point the dr had already began assisting another patient, so I'm told by staff to wait AGAIN until he's finished so the prescription can be corrected!! Brilliant. Decided I had enough of my time wasted and walked out. Stunned by the mismanagement and inefficiency of this clinic.

My family has been seeing Dr. Andersson since I was pregnant with my first son, and over the years, his care has been second to none. We have experience with doctors in Europe, and among our family friends in Calgary, one owns a family practice and another works in the hospital emergency department--yet we trust Dr. Andersson with our health above all others. His ability to truly see his patients, listen carefully, and perform thorough checkups is unmatched. His bedside manner is exceptional; he has a gift for making my teenage sons feel comfortable and reassured, and he always takes our concerns seriously. But while all of this has become what we expect from him, it's not why I'm leaving this review. I genuinely believe Dr. Andersson has saved my father's life. After my father suffered a stroke, he spent several days at Foothills Hospital, underwent surgery (stent), and was discharged with no further follow-up. Given that Foothills is known as one of the best hospitals for heart and stroke care, we assumed everything had been addressed. But when I took my father to Dr. Andersson for a follow-up, he immediately picked up on something no one else had. With his usual thoroughness and kindness, he took my father's blood pressure, listened carefully, and without hesitation referred him to Total Cardiology. That's when we learned my father has a bicuspid aortic valve that needs to be addressed--something the hospital had completely ignored or overlooked. And if that weren't enough, Dr. Andersson personally called us after hours to make sure we understood what was happening. He told us, "Listen, they found some things, so they are skipping the middle man--meaning me--and referring him straight to a cardiologist. Make sure you answer the phone when they call, and don't worry, this is all for the best." The fact that he caught what Foothills missed and took immediate action is something I will never forget. Dr. Andersson isn't just a doctor--he is a rare find, a one-in-a-million physician who genuinely cares, is astonishingly competent, and goes above and beyond for his patients. I truly feel sorry for anyone in Calgary who doesn't have him as their family doctor because, as far as I'm concerned, he's irreplaceable. And as for my family? We owe him more than words can express. We are certain he just extended my father's life, and to us, that is priceless.

Almost every time I've come in recently, I've been left sitting in the waiting room for two to three hours or more, despite repeatedly asking staff whether I would be seen. At some point, you're left wondering whether anyone is actually paying attention to the patients waiting. What makes this even more frustrating is that on multiple occasions, I've eventually had to give up and go to a larger hospital just to receive care. At the hospital, I was attended to within half an hour. That comparison says a lot about the current state of service at this clinic. I'm not expecting to be seen before everyone else, and I understand that patients with scheduled appointments and urgent cases have their own priorities. But there has to be a reasonable system for managing people who are already sitting in the waiting room. If someone has been waiting for hours, please communicate with them. If there are delays, tell patients what's happening. If an appointment slot becomes available because someone hasn't shown up, consider the people who have already been waiting. Right now, it feels like patients are simply being left there and forgotten. I came here because I'm genuinely trying to get help for a sore shoulder, and instead I've repeatedly left feeling exhausted, frustrated, and completely disregarded as a patient. The service quality has seriously declined, and I hope management actually looks into what is happening with the staff, wait times, and patient flow. People are sitting in your waiting room for hours with no clear communication or assistance. That is not how patients should be treated. I am that person who can write the uncommon side effects warnings on medication. It is a case of that is not supposed to happen and then surprise it happens to me. Unfortunately he is also part of the Alberta Health system, so even if he wanted to he can't just jump the line with referrals, he has to follow the rules set by Alberta Health. In the more than 20 years I had been living in Calgary, I have learned that the politicians that control Alberta Health haven't got the faintest idea of medicine. They are merely a lot of politicians, who are trying their best to sound important, but only goes on to complicate even the simplest, most cost efficient solution, with so much rules that medicine becomes a very expensive, time consuming circus of expense.
