For an Eataly lover like me, this is paradise. The biggest one I've seen (I'm not sure of the newer ones also abroad) and the one that keeps me coming back everytime I'm in Rome. About 5 floors of deliciousness - well, besides the electric appliances on the ground floor (I would skip those and open another food corner): fresh fruit and vegetables - overpriced; beers, an amazing selection of wines (the Milanese branch can only dream this space and selection), cheeses, meat, fish, etc. We have eaten in the seafood, meat and Roman trattoria corners and we've loved them all - the tripe in the Roman trattoria is yummy and the tartar in the meat corner is delicate. There are many events going on and also tastings so even if you've been there once, you'll keep coming back like me. Just wish the Milanese branch was as big as this one! read more

We went to Eataly for midnight snacks as it was just a walk away from where we were staying. It was one of the best decisions we made on this trip. For food, we went to the ham and cheese restaurant. We ordered the ham set for two people and the house red wine. The hams were very fresh and tasty. It came with a set of perfectly slightly fried bread and fresh salad, both of which complemented the hams very well. Afterwards, we strolled around the store and had a blast exploring the wide variety of -- well, everything. It was heaven on earth for foodies and cooks alike. Finally, the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the store. One of the better customer service experiences we had in Rome. If you get a chance, I highly recommend a stroll. They open till midnight, so it's perfect for late night snacks too! read more

Eataly is Eataly. This is an awesome place. This is basically not only a foodie heaven (as indicated) but also probably the closest equivalent to whole foods I can think of. It's just as expensive, it's just as well stocked, and it's even cooler on the inside. 3 floors of just about everything you can imagine, from a full bar connected to a brewery, an enormous variety of cheeses and meats and fresh produce, to an extensive list of pasta, an extensive list of wines, and multiple whole restaurants on each floor. It even has a library. Oh and a giant sweets/chocolate section, 2 places to go for gelato, and more. I could imagine living inside here, and not like sams club. I'm humorously surprised they don't have a dance club, as I think that's about the only thing they're missing. Go here. Do not skip this place. Also, buy a bag as they have awesome bags and otherwise you're going to be paying for plastic anyway. read more

What can we say about Eataly. It is foodie heaven. I loved everything about it. The space, the options, the obvious good quality of the food. The only thing you need to know is that depending on the time of day you go, meaning from about 3pm to 7pm all the restaurants will be closed, so plan ahead. We did eat at the Fried Food restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. The prices did not seem super cheap, but we ended up getting a plate of fried seafood for two people and couldn't finish it! All in all, I could come back about a thousand times and never get tired. read more

This place is HUGE and has pretty much anything you'll ever need for all things related to Italian food. They sell food, kitchenware, cookbooks, etc, etc. I believe that they also offer cooking classes. They offer products from all over Italy and have a variety of regional specialties that can sometimes be hard to find. They also have a vast selection of beers that they produce themselves as well as a hefty wine section. They actually have windows that look onto the areas where they produce their own products (bread, cheese, beer and so on) so you can see them making them. There are also a variety of mini restaurants to grab food depending on what you're in the mood for. There was a pizza spot, pasta spot, multiple meat counters, beer garden, espresso bar, gelateria, fish spots and I'm sure that I am forgetting some. I tried a place that selled mostly fried fish and got a mix of shrimps, calamari and chips which was really good. read more

This place is simply a 5 star place. 4 floors full of........everything. I don't even know where to start. It's a big emporium full of little sections of everything such as chocolates, bakery, restaurants that specialize in ONE thing such as fish, while the other specializes in chicken, or meat, or mozzarella cheese (you can see them MAKING the mozzarella from scratch) and such. Each restaurant specializes in something that the other restaurant can NOT sell. You can find very unique and high quality products here that come directly from the farmers and makers of the product. You can google the place to find out what else it sells, but I need to get straight to the section i came here for: GELATOOOOOOO!! One of the most unique gelatos out there!! You can taste the vanilla and know that the milk that it's made of is different, fresh, and oh so yummy! Of course they had different and unique flavors of all kind! The texture of the gelato is different than all gelatos out there. Very creamy and....just different. You have to go see for yourself. I can't wait til they open one in LA area! One of the best place to do food shopping and to try all the deliscious italian flavours. You can find everything you really need on the distance of one step. First floor is dedicated to sweets and fruits, second floor is pasta, pizza, beer and cheeses/salami. Third floor is meat and fish. Its a great showcase for Italian products. its both interesting and intriguing to walk around and watch all the exciting products and taste the specialties. there are several options to sit and enjoy the taste of Italy at the restaurants that are a part of Eataly. The place feels open and airy with wide aisles and high ceilings. for me as a foodgeek it were exciting to see but it felt kind of like walking through museum. it is very nice but its very far from my own experience of the markets and deli shops in Rome. read more

Eataly is such a strange thing. After reading many reviews I expected it to be more like a big compound or building with a lot of restaurants - it certainly is, but I would describe this location more as a giant, upscale grocery like a Whole Foods with many restaurants and bars inside of it. On the weekends there is also bread and snack tasting. Italy is mostly showcased although there are speciality items from the US like wine and microbrews. Almost everything is biologico (organic) and most of it is local. There is an awesome chocolate area on the first floor that is a can't miss. And the wines upstairs are really, really reasonably priced (as low as 5 Euros). In addition, I know a lot of people have commented that this is a very expensive place, and it really is, but if you head to the bulk cheese or bread there is market priced vegetables, bread, olives, and cheese and it's fresh and organic. We ordered a half a loaf of bread (metto chilo) and an etto di formaggio (kind of like a big slice of cheese) and it was the same as we pay in our local Trastevere market. The downfalls were that there were a lot of very, very expensive and high end foods that we wouldn't be able to afford and I found the worldwide location choices as very strange. There are 9 Eatalys in Japan! Why are there 9 Eatalys in the teeny country of Japan but then very few outside of Europe. There is one in NYC if you're in the states and I hear it's very similar and just as amazing! read more

Kinda overrated with expensive groceries. Produce totally lacking. The 2 ladies in produce department one young, one older were totally rude!! They were rolling their eyes at me, talking rudely, as they didnt think i understood italian. Walked away when i asked for something. Terrible experience. The store is not like the other Eatlay's i have been too! Overpriced cheeses and meats. Pasta selection ok. Olive oil section lacking. Just in general feels like no love in this store for anything. 2 stars because they had my favorite mints. read more

I loved this place so much. From the selection to the service. Everything was spot on. While it is located a bit in the outskirts, but still close enough to Rome, I would gladly return to Eataly. You can find a large variety of different produce here. From their salumi to their formaggi. From locally sourced olive oil from the Lazio region to Cesanese wine. You want it? They have it - as long as the origin is Italy. They do stock a small variety of products from out of Italy as well. read more

After the new Eataly in Florence let me down last week I'm a fan again. This place is amazing! I bought some pizza, great and unusual wine from Italian regions I've never heard of, and splurged on a 30-month aged prosciutto that was pork candy goodness. First, you have to walk through 4 floors of Italian delicacies in the market. Everything from pasta, to fish, to meats, to wine, etc. On each floor there are restaurants specializing in one of the food groups. On the top floor is a 5 star restaurant serving gourmet dishes. We chose a pasta stand and had seafood pasta and gnocchi with beef. Melted in our mouths. After dinner, went downstairs to the gelato stand for dessert. Fabulous! read more

We went here and ate at the Pizza/Pasta restaurant inside. We ordered the fry plate which is two different arancini balls and something else I don't know what it was but the dish was good. My mother in law ordered the margarita pizza and I ordered a pizza that I thought was a sandwich because it said focaccia. The margarita pizza was good. The pizza I ordered was burnt black. Generally when you cook a pizza the dough tends to bubble, you pop the bubbles when you see them so they do not burn. It was obvious that this was what happened. On top of the burnt pizza, the other two plates came out and I was waiting a good 15 minutes for my pizza. I had to ask for it, then when it finally arrived it was burnt. Our waitress was ok but left and never came back, I had to ask the manager for my dish. Another waitress there had a bad attitude and my mother in law heard her talking to our waitress about us and laughing! Rude! Yes we are American! When I got up to pay the bill at the register one of the cooks was commenting to the manager, who was taking my money, that I didn't eat the pizza and chuckling! Don't you think you should ask me if the dish was ok? No one ever came over to check on us. Standard practice in a restaurant! I noticed this at most of the tables. We felt unwanted and like it was a joke to them that us "Americans" ate there. Maybe it's a Italian attitude! Bummer! read more

Loved this place for everything Italian! We only had a few days left on our vacation in Italy and were looking for gifts to bring back, this place was great! It's a huge supermarket, 3 floors, a nice one with food, snacks, beauty items, etc. I loved the beer section, the guy who helped me was super nice and helpful when I asked him to show me small Italian breweries that make IPAs for my bf and brother. He spent like 10mins going down the beer shelves recommending things, and he spoke English well. The food there was okay, but I didn't expect anything great. They were giving samples of bread and pasta sauce, they really want to sell you their items so they spend a lot of time talking to you about their products which is good, but can also be a little smothering. All in all we got some biscotti, lip blams, beers, salami, cheese, all made in Italy here and I would definitely recommend coming here even just to check it out because it was wayy bigger than the small one I had gone to in Florence. read more

Not a lot going on. It was winter & not too many tourist but the place was dead. The food was sparse & not fresh looking. Was next door of our hotel Boscolo Rome, which by the way is the Bomb, great hotel, but if I was you, I'd skip Eataly. read more

My wife and I got this from the front desk manager's recommendation. We took the metro which took us to Eataly after following the pretty large signs. Once we entered, we realized how huge it was with 4 floors with inclined moving sidewalks. On the ground (0) floor, we saw biscotti, chocolates, and other treats. On the first (1) floor, there was olive oil sampling, pizza, pasta, meat, and fish restaurants. On the second (2) floor, there was meat and fish markets along with a coffee and wine shops plus Osteria Di Eataly restaurant. On the third (3) floor, there was the chef school and Il Ristorante "Spazio". We easily spent the rest of the night to eat dinner as well as shop for treats to bring back home. For dinner, we shared a seafood pasta dish which was prepared at our table. With our Roma pass, we both got free drinks to try out. I got an orange drink and my wife got lemon drink from what I recalled. We finally realized it was easier to buy a tote bag rather than a bunch of plastic bags to haul on the subway. So, we now have a blue tote bag as a souvenir to remember this mega super market:) Be sure to grab a meal as well as plenty of souvenirs. read more

Eataly is indeed a food Disneyland, but beware- the adjacent carpark is smash and grab Disneyland. We had nothing in the car to grab, but with UK plates, the thieves must have assumed it was worth their while so had one side window smashed. However, we discovered that this is an almost hourly occurrence, so if you go to Eataly, take your chances arriving in your own car, or better to take a taxi or the Metropolitana. Why though Eataly isn't more considerate of their customers and post manned security is an open question. Beware!!! read more

I stopped in for a quick dinner because I had to go catch a train and couldn't see many promising restaurants. Eataly wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I ordered a pretty simple pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and eggplant, and it was 8 euros. Not a bad price, but they of course tacked on a 2 euro service fee, of which I am never a fan. The pizza was fine, and a good size, but nothing special. Plus it came so quickly that there's no way it was made to order. Pizza is also the cheapest option on the menu--everything else is pretty overpriced. I would opt for an authentic Italian restaurant as opposed to this chain. That being said, the service itself was great, and the downstairs shop area has an extensive collection of Italian goods. read more

When you enter Eataly, it's like a dream : you wish you could spend the night there all alone with your BF ;-) The first floor has veggies and fruits, pastries, bread, pizza, chocolates, coffee shop. Second floor : two raws of olive oils, pastas, rice of any kind, fancy preserves, and BEERS !!!! Best place to buy handcrafted beers mostly from Italy. Third floor : WINES, good selection by regions and different DOCs. Also lots of liquors : grappa, rhum, whisky, you name it ! You can also eat a bit at the different counters with themes : fish, salads, pizza, pasta, ... Just not to be missed when in Rome ! read more

This place is heaven for lovers of food (eating it and/or making it). It is easy to spend several hours in there. There are four floors of restaurants and products, each with real, authentic, and local specialties such as mozzarella di bufala, DOCG vino, and true Parma ham. I was particularly fascinated with the pasta. There were more than 4 aisles of dried pasta, and a whole section of fresh as well! The philosophy of Eataly is to provide fresh, sustainable products to people at a reasonable price so that good food is accessible to all, and I can totally get behind that! Don't miss the brewery (yes, brewed right there!) and all the restaurants. I highly recommend the kebab, porchetta panino, and stopping for some espresso as well. A shopping trip here is inspiring and please dedicate an entire day to it. read more

BF and I came here during midday, so almost all the restaurants were closed. We did find one that served fried seafood, so we ended up eating there. Overall the food was not bad and it was reasonably priced. What we appreciated most was how friendly the people were (we experienced extremely rude service almost everywhere else in Italy). Besides the restaurant, it was a nice walk around the building. They had almost everything you would ever need to make a nice meal if you lived in Italy. Since we were just visitors, we did not buy anything besides souvenir chocolates. read more

Eataly is a huge food paradise. It is designed to host both restaurants/bars/shops and supermarkets/grocery stores. There is a lot of variety and the quality is excellent. If you are not comfortable in crowdy places avoid going there on weekends. I am a big fan of the meat/fish restaurants. You can have a very good meal for a reasonable price. read more

Love this Place. its a bit pricy, but if you are a foodie and have a whole day to spare don't miss this place. Rude and then charming service during the same visit. The server in the Bierra restaurant did her best to ignore the two tables of North Americans. After a few futile attempts to gain her attention, we moved on to the Pasta restaurant, where the service was both friendly and helpful. The contrast could not have been acute. read more

4 floors of food! This can be a little overwhelming for some, but try to enjoy the experience. I liked how all the food was sectioned off logicaly but interspersed with various food bars or specialty items with table areas. Unlike a food court, you need to get a table, and a roving food staffer will find you and provide a menu and bring back your order. If you are with a large party, make sure you get a head start on getting a table. Loved the seafood section and the salami and cheese sections . Apparently cooking classes are available and regular restaurants are up on the top floor. read more
