But if you're like me, and like to update your old-school gaming collection, then Game City is your store. I was looking for copies of Goldeneye 64 and Banjo-Kazooie, and they had both. I mean, yeah, both were about $50 each (which is crazy considering games of today are $60-$70), but these games are REALLY hard to find and I've seen them go for even more. Okay, they did have an N64 with an Expansion Pak for $110, which was quite ridiculous to be honest. They even had an Intellivision (which is from the early 80's I believe) in perfect shape. Lord knows how much that would have cost. I wish I could list all the of classics I found at Game City, but I would probably break Yelp. But yeah, when it comes to more recent games, don't waste your time here. Just go to EB or BestBuy, and you'll probably get a better deal. If you're looking for the old-school and obscure, go right in! They also give cash or in-store credit for games and DVDs, which is great.

Checked EB games online and the price was $40 for a recycled copy - so I figured why not? I called the Leduc store to see if they had a recycled copy on-hand. Spoke to Chad and Chad was all like "bro, just cop the new copy it's actually $30 right now fam!"(conversation probably not verbatim) - due to some Sony promotion. I live in SW Edmonton, so Bestbuy is actually a lot closer - thought I'd just drive there instead. I called Bestbuy to see if they 1) had the game and 2) were also offering it for $30. Have you ever tried calling a Bestbuy store for help? Try it - I'll wait. GOOD LUCK. Anyway, drove down to Leduc and picked up my game! This is the 3rd or 4th game I've bought from here in the last few months and the service is always consistent and the staff are really helpful! They carry mostly newer game titles but you can manage to find older games for cheap. Need a headset for your game system? EB has them for good prices. They usually have consoles for sale in store however I still usually make sure to make a reservation for pick up which you can set up online or on the phone. I have not been disappointed by the staff or a game yet. They have a cash in system where you can cash in your old games and systems and receive store credits however EB games is often criticized for the amounts they offer. I don't usually trade my games in but it is something to pay attention to if you want a discount on newer games. The downside of this store is the size. It is quite small and gets crowded easily. Because of the size the check out lines can be long and in the way if you are trying to get to the other side of the store. They usually have two people on the registers but sometimes complicated returns or check outs happen and take time. I have bought many games here and I'm sure I will continue to do so in the future.

For those just browsing like I was, it is really hard to see what they have behind the counter, as there is a fair distance between you and the shelf. Many of their games also don't come in cases, so if you're curious about what the game is about, you have to look it up on your phone or ask the staff. The other inconvenience was that the games are not marked with prices, so again, you have to ask the employee each time which I found a little tedious.
