Just For Fun Video Games - Paid $48 for two games. Not sure what each one was exactly priced at as their games do not come with the price specified.

After running around multiple game stores in search of (3)DS games and being told they no longer…read morecarried them, we were recommended to check out Just For Fun. We walked in without a particular game in mind, more just wanting to browse their Pokemon, Zelda, Kirby, and Fire Emblem stock, plus any other nostalgic games we came across. Sure enough, they had large selection of Nintendo games available, from GameCube, GameBoy, DS, Wii and the Switch. The store was very quiet, as we were the only customers inside during our whole visit. The front employee was very friendly and helpful, ensuring to check up on us periodically as I took my time looking through their selection. The way this store is organized makes it more suiting for those who have a good idea of what they are looking for, as most of their games are stored in cases or behind the counter. For those just browsing like I was, it is really hard to see what they have behind the counter, as there is a fair distance between you and the shelf. I did appreciate that they were alphabetically organized though! Many of their games also don't come in cases, so if you're curious about what the game is about, you have to look it up on your phone or ask the staff. The other inconvenience was that the games are not marked with prices, so again, you have to ask the employee each time which I found a little tedious. As for their game selection, there were very limited Pokemon and Zelda games, and no Fire Emblem games. That's obviously not a fault on their part, but if you have a particular game in mind, I would recommend calling ahead of time to see if they do have it available.

BioWare - The characters of Mass Effect. They and the narrative are what make the series critically-acclaimed.

The games are so…read morecritically-acclaimed and universally-loved that BioWare is developing Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, a remaster of the trilogy plus DLC, promo weapons, armor, and packs. Legendary Edition will be optimized for 4K, available for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and will be released sometime in the first half of 2021. The original Mass Effect was released in 2007 followed by sequels in 2010 and 2012. Where Mass Effect really hit its stride was Mass Effect 2. To me, the best thing about the series is the characters. The universe of Mass Effect is beautifully-crafted and the characters are amazingly fleshed-out in wonderful detail. The writing, character design and development are terrific. The acting is great. An enormous amount of dialogue is contained within these games. I met Mark Meer, the voice of the series' main protagonist, Commander Shepard, at Dragon Con. The trilogy's cast of voice actors has been relatively star-studded for a video game series. The cast includes the likes of Keith David, Seth Green, Lance Henriksen, Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn, Buzz Aldrin, Freddy Prinze Jr, Troy Baker, and - most memorable to me - Martin Sheen as the Illusive Man. Like any good role-playing video game, I took a liking to many of the characters, from genetically-engineered krogan Grunt to perfect human Miranda Lawson (also genetically-engineered). The games do an excellent job of making you feel like a part of the ME universe and taking you on an epic, sci-fi, space opera journey. The game mechanic that has made Mass Effect such a success is player choice and its effect on the storyline, characters, and universe. The choices the players make carry over and intensify from game to game. It's like Choose Your Own Adventure, but on steroids; complex and extremely well done. BioWare is also known for developing other popular RPG franchises such as Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Dragon Age. The company is based in Epcor Tower, in the center of downtown Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. They have a subsidiary in the US, BioWare Austin, in Austin, Texas.

Their selection is just okay. I have (had) two issues with this location…read more First was the absolute a-hole I had to deal with one day I was in their having a friendly conversation with the other staff member. The guy came across as an elitist with his nose in the air just because he worked at a game store I guess?? (I was applying for PT work...I called him on his shit attitude before I left...I didn't get a call back...haha) My second issue is their prices, but not in the way you might think. Some of their games were outrageously over priced, while some were dirt cheap when they should cost much more. I also came across a game in their bargain bin that they also had locked up in the showcase (same game with two very different price tags). So I guess my issue was their inconsistent pricing. That being said, if you know your games you could potentially snipe a good title for cheap.

The prices are probably pretty competitive to other used game stores but they surely aren't anywhere near the cheapest place to find games.
