The current owners took over about a year before we started using them, and have made huge improvements. There is just the right amount of friendly home atmosphere combined with the right amount of professionalism. Turnover of staff is very low (high turnover being more common with nurseries, and a problem for parents and children). The staff are a good mix of younger and older women, all with real affection and commitment to their charges. I can't recommend highly enough - but they hardly need it, you need to make a reservation for the twinkle in your eye, they're so popular.

The instructors were friendly but fair, and there were non of the old 'unemployable' well-known faces that you often see doing the rounds in these sort of place. The course content was relevant and well-taught and the simulator instruction was good. The blippies were excellent and apparently have all passed the ATC aptitude tests. The building itself could perhaps be improved slightly as it feels a bit like a Portacabin but that's really a very minor flaw as it was well equipped. Located next to the tower, so for people who are new to ATC the on-site airport could be a bit of an advantage. These guys won't guarantee a pass, and they're quite right as there's no point in putting people through courses who're just not fit for the job. Therefore if you're self-sponsoring, it's WELL worth paying for the aptitude testing first!

Nerves got the best of me but I was easily ready for my mod 2 at the same time. I passed mod 2 on the second attempt with no minors. Excellent training. One on one or two students max. My partner trained and worked as a nursery nurse for many years before a change of career so she knew what to look out for when looking around for a nursery. The first thing that strikes you is the amount of outside space the children have, They have a lovely big garden and lots of play equipment. Inside the nursery is always clean, and there always seem to be lots of activites the children are doing, All of the staff are absolutely excellent, they are always doing lots of things with the children and they try and get the kids outside to play whenever possible, Our son loves it, he doesn't want to come home some days! Its not exactly the cheapest nursery around and you do have to pay when the nursery is closed, i.e. bank holidays if your child is due to go, But you can't put a price on peace of mind and we are more than happy with all elements of the place! The cinema offers popular (and not so popular!) films, and with the added attraction of the bar, and a much smaller and more intimate screen - the prices are cheaper than the main cinemas, but the films are shown a little while after they've finished at main cinemas. Some excellent bands perform here, again in a relatively intimate surroundings. The Big laugh cafe is another not to be missed - get your tickets early for this as they ALWAYS sell out!
