Had a great experience here a couple of days ago. It was my first time taking any kind of CPR certification class. I was in the BLS for healthcare providers class as a prerequisite for EMT school, and surrounded by a bunch of current healthcare professionals getting re-certified. I was a little intimidated since I was the least experienced in the room by a long shot, but Mark quickly made me and everyone else feel super comfortable. He made sure to focus on and repeat the key points so when I took the test at the end I felt confident and prepared. Also, the class had a good pacing so the two and a half hours breezed by. First... wow. I had a really great experience in this class. Mark (whom I believe is the owner) was my instructor this time around. He's enthusiastic, intuitive and presented the information in a way that I felt like I was participating in the learning process. In previous classes elsewhere, we watched a video and then played pretend with the dummies, and then read some stuff in a book and took a test, straightforward, but not engaging or even entertaining. Eclipse has it figured out. Engage your audience and they will be successful! Now, if you want to go to a class where you will sit quietly and watch a movie and take your test quietly, this is not the class for you. You might be singled out to answer a question! You might be asked to demonstrate what you just learned, and then the class will do that with you too! Mark may jump up on a table and tell you information in a boisterous voice! You may find yourself laughing at his super cheesy jokes. At the end the class you may realize that your instructor has not-so-gently slipped all the answers into the information he's presented to you. The teaching process here is interesting and helpful so that when I took the test at the end I had retained the information Mark had presented (I only missed one question). I will go back to this location as long as I have to renew every 2 years. read more

Shout out to Zach (Zack??) for teaching an awesome BLS Initial class tonight. He helped keep the class moving through material, made it fun, and was totally willing to answer all questions. It's an important class but it can get dull--not tonight! He made sure to get us out at a decent time, which is especially nice for a night class. Each of us had a mannequin and we practiced in pairs and groups. Very comfortable class setting. You also got plenty of practice before the test at the end so you feel completely ready for the test. Zach and Folly conducted the tests in a very efficient manner and everything was ready to go. Will definitely use Eclipse again when I need to renew! I did my BLS and ACLS few years and I came back to renew my BLS again at this place, and I will do it again once it's due. Mark, instructor and the business owner is a phenomenon. He has been doing this for years and he knows what he is doing very well. At the end of the class you notice that you have have learned all you need to know without even realizing how time has passed. Scheduling is so easy and it is in a great and convenient location. This is THE WORSE, healthcare CPR class I have ever taken. He rushed through the class, likely to make easy money, and directly pointed out the answers, likely for his own personal gain through the AHA. Two hours prior I faced a life altering situation and was under a sedative leaving me groggy. Instead of giving me the benefit of the doubt, he very loudly and angrily pointed out in front of the class he was watching me. Rescheduling was not permitted, nor was it an option on a personal level.Very ignorant. At the end of class it was very apparent it frustrated him that I passed. So if you want your moneys worth and want to actually learn something, take the class through a more reputable agency. Someone who clearly enjoys their work as opposed to rushing to get it over with. read more

Great class. The instructor made the content and videos interesting even though the videos were the typical 1980s cheesy instruction variety. He made sure we understood what would be covered on the test and during the demonstration part of the test he made me feel very comfortable and I was able to go through it easily. Mark is a very dynamic, animated and engaging instructor. I have taken 3 or 4 classes from him, both BLS and ACLS and all have been fun and stress free. The hospital where I work provides free classes but some instructors have been awful. You know the type, they only teach to prove that they are smarter than you. They also require "professional attire". You show up in jeans and they will send you home. So I often come back to Eclipse just for the relaxed and supportive environment. It's also nice that Eclipse offers so many classes. I've never had trouble getting in a class even on short notice, which is great as I'm a chronic procrastinator. Recommend highly. read more
