Jimmy came over and did a full run-through, checking everything that could have possibly been wrong with it, and going into details of how different parts and how to best care for them. It was eventually determined that the compressor was busted. Jimmy and Georgio were very transparent around what the price of the repair would be, and what the alternative options were (i.e., get a new unit). Jimmy took the unit back with him to make the repairs (I decided to just go with the new compressor), and he and Georgio came back and helped re-install the unit and make sure everything was working properly. I appreciated the prompt reply and correspondence from the office manager, Angela, who was professional and responsive. Our neighbors had used another company that did not stand by their work, and we were nervous about having a similar experience. The installers arrived on time, wearing masks and taking precautions necessary due to Covid, which was appreciated. When the unit had an issue (the touchpad was not working--a manufacturer issue, not an installation issue), Angela and Jimmy were wonderful to work with to troubleshoot and then Jimmy sent his guys back at no charge to fix the issue, and stand by their work. I went with Eco Air to update my dying A/C unit. Their replacement unit is strong, quiet, and works really well. The unit comes with a one-year parts warranty and five-year compressor warranty. I made a call to EcoAir and had someone in my apartment that week to give a quote. They respond very quickly to inquiries by phone and email. Unfortunately, no one told me that an appointment to receive a quote costs $195. That would have been nice to know. Installation was fast and easy. Jimmy and his colleague were friendly, not disruptive, and professional in installing the unit. Generally, I found Eco Air staff to be really pushy about money. When they were in my apartment after providing a quote, they wanted me to pay the $195 immediately. They asked me more than once to pay in front of them using their online system. Later, once we agreed on the work to be done, I was required to pay a 50% down payment before I could schedule the installation appointment (this information was not included in the written invoice). Again, when they were in my apartment after completing the installation, they wanted me to pay the balance immediately. Again, they asked me more than once to pay in front of them using their online system. The invoice date and pay date were the same on both my quote and installation bills. I'm not sure if the pressure came from the fact that I'm black, female, young, or if they've been burned before... but it was not normal. Their pressure was very unprofessional and off-putting. We have had a great experience with Eco Air. We had used two other PTAC companies to service our PTACS and did not have good experiences so were a little wary when Eco Air came to look at our units. The previous companies were unable to identify why our units were rattling and not maintaining the proper temperature. We were able to easily schedule an appointment and when Jimmy came it was clear that he knew the units inside and out and very quickly identified the problem. He was also able to suggest solutions to help us maintain the temperatures in our rooms including using a digital thermometer. I appreciated that Jimmy was honest and told us the pros and cons of the different options. They followed up after the visit via email and kept us updated on when we could expect the parts to come in and the follow-up visit. We also had them service our PTAC units for the spring cleaning and unlike the prior company we used that did a bare minimum cleaning, Eco Air properly removed the units and thoroughly cleaned them out and the technicians checked to make sure that they were working properly after the cleaning. When we noticed a rattling noise coming from one of them, they quickly sent a tech out who was able to fix the problem. We were so happy with their service that we have recommended them to our neighbors and they have become our buildings PTAC service providers. I was sent an invoice and the costs were exactly what we were told up front before scheduling the appointment which I appreciated as there were no hidden or additional charges. They even sent us a detailed estimate before conducting any work so that we could clearly see costs and decide which route we wanted to take. read more

I had originally used a different company who really screwed me over and were found to be completely untrustworthy, but who said the issue I was having was due to a leak in my pipe. Distraught with having been coned by another company, I called Eco Air. Jimmy had Anthony come to do a test to confirm there was a leak, and walked me through all the next steps. He helped me and talked me through things even when we thought Eco Air might not be able to handle my problem since he was light staffed due to the pandemic. He got to my place on time and got right to work. I had Eco Air clean the PTAC unit in my apartment. Unfortunately, it stopped cooling soon after. Since I had used Eco Air once, I called them back to diagnose and service my AC. This initial service call was $195, and they required me to pay half up front which I thought was unusual. They diagnosed the problem as potentially a failed compressor, and removed the entire unit for repair. After the unit was removed, I had to keep checking on the status of the repairs. I was told parts were on order and was given a timeline which was not met, however it was during a very busy time. Two weeks later, the unit was finally reinstalled and I was told that it had a leaked and had to be recharged with Freon. Repairs can be frustrating for many reasons and I was frustrated when my AC broke. I was not too impressed with Eco Air's front office, but the owner Jimmy does his best to take care of customers. I dealt with him directly, and he followed up to make sure my issue was resolved. Jimmy and his crew continue to work in our building and I'm satisfied with the job he did. If I have anymore issues with my HVAC, I would certainly consider Eco Air to handle the problem. read more

Jimmy (one of the owners) personally came to our assistance when we had an emergency and our PTAC unit broke down in our young infant's room.
