We had 4 bedroom windows and 1 patio door completed by Ecoline. We originally went with this company as they told us that there were no glass delays for them and that everything was made locally. This was in 2021 when this was an issue. This ended up being untrue and everything was delayed. Install was finally completed in Jan 2022. Our patio door was the first issue that I noticed. We could barely open it. It took me over a year and countless visits by their techs to finally say that the door was defective. I stayed home for dozens of these technician appointments, missing work and activities/family time, and no one would take notes or submit paper work and it was ALWAYS me following up with the company for anything to be done. Their trim work is also done so poorly, it splits within weeks to months after install. They told me if I wanted it done nicely that I would have to pay extra. They also use a copious amount of caulk to fill in any gaps on the exterior. There was also damage to our walls and new flooring during the install. We had other windows done by another company as we were fed up with Ecoline. We had zero issues with any of these new windows from the other company. I am now dealing with our replacement patio door. It is bowed and now leaking cold air into the house. I have reached out to them Jan 20th and Jan 24th both with no response. I know this of course is going to be a painful process to get anything rectified and know that they will try and do nothing. They offered me the first time only 5% off any new windows for the headache. My question is, why would I ever want another subpar window poorly installed by them again. Lastly, they demand payment upfront and before any work starts. They will just stand there until they are paid. The employees told us, this is because the company will make the workers pay the company if a client does not pay. Highly unethical. A client should be able to pay once the work is done and you are satisfied, not before. There is no hold back in case poor work is done. I have lost countless work days, time with my family and energy with this company for them to rectify their issues. They are unwilling to make anything right. Stay away from this company. There are so many other great companies out there that deserve your hard earned money. Ecoline is not one of them. read more

Three clean cut gentleman, were at my door early today to get a long awaited for job nicely done. They worked very hard and never once took even a coffee break. They were proactive in ensuring that the premise was well protected by drop sheets and even gave me a large hand at taking the vallance cassette off of the blinds as there were two. The boys worked dilligently and didn't leave until the job was done correct and to a proper conclusion. I have used Ecoline windows twice now, and have been thoroughly impressed by their work ethics, their punctuality and their ability to leave their work area spanking clean. We dealt with Ecoline three years ago and were happy then. I ordered new doors and windows from them and am very disappointed now. Their new policy is that they won't begin work until they have the full payment, which, after this instance, I understand, as I would have withheld payment until our doors were correctly installed. With multiple issues, we have yet to be able to get the salesperson, the service department, or their scheduler to contact us. read more

It's sad to have to post a review like this before my job is even completed but beyond necessary. I hope this review reaches any future window buyers. My initial meetings with Alex to go over windows was wonderful, I was left feeling secure in my decision to go with this company. Alex went around my house and told me what windows would be the best fit, even outside! That's the important part here. He stood outside my main window and pointed out to me the piece of wood under two of my windows was rotten. He would make sure this was replaced before installing the brand new windows. It was even put in my contract. Still in the contract. I went with Ecoline because of this, as I'm not able to take that rotten wood out myself. Installation arrived and so did the issues. 1) The wood to be replaced in the written contract was not done. Alex has now refused to even admit to conversation. He's saying the wording in the contract is the frame and I being just a woman am simply confused by all this. Heads up ladies, this is still how people at this company will treat you! Thought as a society we'd be passed this. Anyways, my new windows have now been installed on rotten wood. The installers asked me is I was handy and able to change it myself- keep in mind the window is on it.... 2) Some windows have major gaps on the outside between the house and the new window. Space enough to let in moisture and pests. Pictures provided. 3) One of the windows has a very noticeable defect in the glass, yet was still installed. 4) Several of the inside window frames are scratched and damaged. Again, these were still installed with I'm assuming the hopes I wouldn't notice or care. 5) One of the windows was ordered in the wrong size, so the job is not completed. The old window was put back in with extensive damage to the frame I now have to look at for who knows how long. 6) I ordered blinds for my new windows(which will be delayed now because of the improper window size) the installers where suppose to put up the blinds (was in the contract, installer even read that out loud). Three blinds were installed upstairs and zero of the temporary ones installed. Those were left to the side for me to do, the right amount wasn't even left. Alex made it clear he was unavailable during the installation to come by to address concerns and he'd come by on the following Monday. For the day I waited and he didn't show up or call. At 6:54 at night I received a text message. Not even a call! Saying he wouldn't be coming by. I asked at that point to have a manager contact me to get things sorted out. My hopes was amicably. However, over a week later now I've yet to be contacted by a manager or anyone in the warranty department. The service once that contract line is signed is non existent. The installation is far from a professional job. I'm worried sick what's going to happen with the heavy rain this week with some of the new windows not properly installed. Bottom line, RUN! Don't contemplate this company. If you've recently signed a CONTRACT you've got 10 DAYS TO CANCEL. Stick with Lux Windows and Doors. They are more expensive yes, but the quality is there and the professionalism is top notch. I wish I paid the extra and could be happy with my new windows. Not deal with the hassle of trying to get my brand new windows fixed. My old windows looked better installed than these new ones. It's so incredibly disappointing. Hard to believe I'm already in the warranty process(if they ever call) before the job is even complete. read more

Dealing with the office part of the company was not a pleasant experience. Their promises to install in a particular time frame did not happen. The installer, when he did arrive was pleasant, did his job well and acknowledged, and complied with our concerns & requests to remove the garbage safely. Clean up in the house was done at regular intervals and consistently. The office however demanded full payment to be completed before the installation started. I would hire the installer again, but not the company. read more

The true character of a person reveals in times of crisis. Sadly, this was my experience with Ecoline Windows. In summary, we bought windows and blinds from Ecoline. Their staff installed the blinds incorrectly and, as a result, one of the windows (my five years old son's room) only opened up to one inch of clearance. The problem could have been solved by returning our home to its original state before their staff mistake. Instead, Ecoline proceeded unprofessionally, unethically, and careless about the safety of our family. (Examples for each adjective used below) To start, they offered only a solution, to fix the window that did not open and patch the holes. An offer we were not pleased with because we did not pay for patch/repaired windows. Ecoline incompetence: This one is the most obvious. The installer did not know what to do. Ecoline Unethical Behavior: 1. After realizing that the first window the installer worked on did not open, We requested to stop his work and pack up. He finished the installation while We were on the phone talking to Ecoline support. 2. Their staff refused to get me in contact with their manager. I had to make up his email by finding his full name from their receptionist and using their company's email address convention (first letter of the name, plus last name, plus @ecolinewindows.ca). 3. Once I reached out to the manager, he refused to answer a simple question. Can you guarantee that offered solution will not be visible? (returning our home to its original state before their mistake) It took over a month of back and forward emails and ultimately threatening them with legal action from him to guarantee his work. 4. They offered us to refund the installation fee. Later the refund was used as coercion to pressure us to move on with the repairs. In their own words: " We will send the cheque to you once everything is resolved". Finally, why was Ecoline careless about the safety of our family: The City of Calgary requires you to "Except where the suite is sprinkled, each bedroom or combination bedroom shall have at least one outside window or exterior door openable from the inside without the use of keys, tools or special knowledge and without the removal of sashes or hardware." We asked them to fix the window while figuring out an agreement regarding the patchwork. It took over three months, countless emails, phone calls, and reaching out to one of their VP a couple of times, to get them to send their staff to remove the screw that was obstructing -my five years old son- window from opening. In their manager's word, they would rather do " it all done together". (repairs and patchwork). And if this is not enough, as of today (September 25, 2021), We are still waiting for the refund. They claim the cheque was sent twice but, base on my recent experience, it is hard to believe them. In conclusion, do yourself a favor. Stay away from Ecoline Windows. read more

I have to say emphatically, that these people were GREAT! #1 product, at the best possible price, AND ... the fellows that installed it, were thorough, efficient and so quick! I'm very impressed with the service I received from this company. I was told that I could expect my new window to be installed in August. They called me last week to say that my window had arrived and they could come and install it today. The men arrived on time and had the job done in 2 hours. Hacop & Matt were very professional. polite & efficient. They explained what they were doing along the process and showed me their work when finished. If you read every bad review you will read the same thing over and over, poor customer service, poor quality installation, improperly measured windows, poor communication and every single word of it is true! But all you really have to do is look at the home inspection report below we had done after the installation and that speaks for itself! That should be all the warning you need. The rest of this review is just fluff and venting! We entrusted them with all new windows in both our home and our rental property and that was hands-down the biggest mistake we have made as home owners and landlords. We had new windows installed in February. The windows were all too small and the French patio doors we had installed to replace the sliding patio doors didn't open after the installers left. I called to tell them my patio doors didn't open and they told me, 'new doors take a couple of months to settle,' and to call back in the spring if they still didn't open. The custom-fit windows have anywhere from 1/2 inch to 1 ¼ inch gaps between the frames on the inside and 1/2 in gaps on the outside which they filled with unsightly silicone. They have come to the house several times to try fix the patio doors and the final time they came, they broke the inside sliding blinds, shot brad nails through the frame, didn't properly support the door with backing between the frame of the house and the door frame, left a one-inch gap under the door to allow rain to flow into our foundation, tore the weather stripping and dented the door. I have been in a battle to get a clear and concise action plan on how to deal with these issues, but like every other negative review you will read here, they offer empty apologies and don't act on their word. I have yet to meet one installer who has the faintest idea how to install a window or how to resolve these issues. The home inspection report very clearly states that silicone should be applied behind the j-channel and failing to so do can cause storm run off to trap behind building materials causing long-term damage, but in their latest email, they have dismissed the report and advised us they will reapply silicone to the j-channel. Every window we ordered was undersized and as a result they did not use proper weather protection. The home inspector was speechless when he walked around and looked at the windows and said he had never seen such poorly installed windows. The installers for Ecoline Windows are utterly clueless and extremely underskilled! I am a travel agent yet over the past three months I have learned more about windows and construction I have a better understanding of the most-basic, fundamentals of window installation, and now I feel I know more than every single installer that has come to my home! I am genuinely astounded that this company is still in business, and cannot come up with a logical explanation as to how they have not gone out of business - they have no qualified installers, extremely poor communication methods, are unbelievably unorganized and appear to have absolutely no knowledge of window installation! I did everything I believed was right to try and work with them to resolve this, I believed if I was patient someone would work with me to find the proper solution. I believed that given the chance, they would do the right thing, but they have not. I expect their response to this review will be the same as every other response to negative reviews - they are sorry to hear of my experience and are working to resolve the issue, but it is a prepared response and an empty promise. Do yourself a favour, be smarter than I was - find another company to install your windows or you will regret your decision for years to come! I've had my windows for only four months and I cringe every time I walk up to my house and see them!
