They found some wire underground that they decided to tap into for the job and proceeded to run conduit along my wood fence (it was supposed to be along the house and NOT from underground) which was not what we had discussed as the plan for that job. I voiced my concern about how it was done and they came back out and did the job as it was originally planned to do. The whole time the job was being worked on, my windows were open and I could hear the apprentice complaining about having to dig and how the dirt was hard (I get manual labor isn't for everyone, be professional at least) but they "corrected" the work and that was the last I called on them. Fast forward a few years and we have more work being done in our yard only to discover the wire they ran underground to one of the outlets not only was bare once it was in soil (I was under the impression it was run with conduit underground), but also only buried about 4-5" deep in most places. Although Joe has always been nice when he has been here doing work, his staff comes off lazy and incompetent and the work they completed was a HUGE safety hazard we were unaware of. I don't think I'd ever hire these guys again.

You know how people sell their home after they've let the repairs pile up and run through the house carelessly? Well, my faith is so strong I chose one of these battles recently. Living with the same furnace and broke down water heater in a 30 year old home wasn't going to cut it! I wasn't comfortable welcoming Mom at my place the entire winter, so I stayed under her armpit until I met a few helpful captains on another ship: ECONO-WEST, INC. of Lancaster, CA that is. Ken came out and inspected everything. The next day Sam and Roger came out and replaced the water heater, and in less than 24 hours, their secretary was calling to schedule us for the next day to have the furnace replaced by Jeremy and Bryan! Balls were rolling, you feel me!!! Everything was done in a timely fashion. The secretaries were courteous, willing to take questions, communicated very well, kept it simple, and stayed on point. Ken keep that humble spirit! Sam and Roger did a great job in extreme winds and cold and wrapped up in good timing, with no static. Jeremy and Bryan came first thing the next morning with such beautiful spirits and zeal to get the job done in a timely order, yet quality work input, that I welcomed them back on the strength. The water heater had been leaking all over the place with nasty sediment and rust that had settled all the way through the bottom. (Ken was kind enough to break it all down to me in terms I could understand, so I'd remember how to kind of say it... Yikes!!!) That damn furnace was a you know what! When B. and J. pulled it out they exposed me to some things I had no clue about. The former tenants had a big fire right there in the furnace that burned the inner panels of the wall encasement, which was not visible until the furnace was removed. It was completely charred around. There's a difference in people and I'm yus glad that My Help was much greater than those who left me with the hidden problems. Anyhow, they worked it out for me and assured me of the safety I will have now... I mean, the thought of knowing about a fire this late in the game (AFTER I have been living there!) was hella disheartening, but knowing that God saw fit to bless me with the opportunity to treat it as a home and do it better makes it worth while. Besides, He knows best, and fooling with me it may've been better that I found out after the sell, when everyone was long gone! Now my water heater and furnace actually work and look normal. I highly recommend Econo-West. I have used this company to repair my HVAC since 2004 and never been disappointed. Last month, after 27 years my AC gave up (noise, vibration, burned-out fuses and the last, coil pan leaking) so I decided to replace the entire HVAC system. Before I called Econo-West, I did a comprehensive research about HVAC units: brands, size, components, materials, time and costs of labor and materials. I also learned that most of the failures are due to the poor quality of the installation and maintenance. Based on this, I opted for an affordable system rather than a high end HVAC, two stage system; while they are more efficient they are more likely to fail because of the complex process to be more energy efficient. Yes, it could save some money on energy bills, but it would take up to 10 years to recover the initial investment. When I called Econo-West, they scheduled Dan, a very experienced technician, to revise my unit. In my research, I learned that some AC technician are like car salesman; contrary to this, Dan never pushed into buying a new unit, instead, he tried to repair the old one, but this task proved to be difficult due to the difficulty of finding parts for a three decade AC. While he was still looking for the parts, I called him back asking for an estimate for a new HVAC. In a very professional way he showed me a few options: brand, price, size and reliability. He recommended a 5 ton,14 SEER, Day and Night HVAC unit, explaining that his company installed many unit and had no issues. Again, without being coercive, he left the estimate for me to review it and to think about it; he even suggested to shop around. In my research I did not find too many good reviews about this brand, but some HVAC professionals agreed that these units are very solid and reliable if the systems are installed professionally. I also learned that the company, United Technologies, which owns Carrier, also owns Day and night. A few days later, I had my AC and furnace installed by Dan. The installation took one and a half days because a problem was found in the Attic. Today after a few days the system is running quiet without problems. His estimate was on the average range, but my decision was made on the quality of the installation and the maintenance of the system. I'm sure Econo-West will keep my system running for many years, as they honestly did with my old unit. I'll post more updates of the HVAC performance after the winter and summer seasons or sooner if I find any issues with my unit. read more

This company is amazing! I got a phone call 20 minutes ahead of time to let me know they were on their way. The owner, Dave, actually came to make sure the job was done right and efficiently Dave, the owner, sincerely loves what he does which shows in his work. Dave and his crew are Dedicated, hard working and determined to have your family breathing clean, fresh, and healthy air again. Dave took the time to go over safety hazards with my family. Dave showed us potential fire hazards that could have burned down our home. Dave also gave us tips how to save money- showed us the "what to do" and "what not to do" so that we may get the most out of our air conditioner and heater. Dave and his crew walked us through the procedure every step form start to finish. All of Dave's employees were professional and courteous and great to have working in my home They cleaned out the ducts and added several extra things that, to e honest, I didn't understand, but is supposed to make my air healthier, free of charge! I never felt like I was being up charged. Dave and his crew cleaned out the air conditioner / heater and ducts. They went above and beyond when it came to cleaning after themselves. The left my home cleaner than before they came in! Dave saw some stains on our stairs and had the crew clean them out right on the spot with no charge. Our heater filter was the cheap flimsy kind but they replaced it with a REUSABLE filter much THICKER to catch more dust and debris FREE of charge! This company is very unprofessional. I called into this company three times and two times I had spoke to a man named David and I was just asking for a rough estimate on how much it would be to replace some ducting in both my houses and both times he told me he'd call back or the technician would call me personally to help but I never got a call. I called in the third time a day later and spoke to a lady named Hayley and I told her I had already called twice, that I thought better of the company because of good yelp reviews online and she apologized then called the tech herself and gave me a rough estimate right then and there for my first house in Lancaster. When I called in the first two time and spoke to David I asked about ducts in Santa Barbara as well and he told me that they are not located in Santa Barbara but when I spoke to Hayley she told that they do have a technician that goes out there that can do ducts and this also made me think this company is unprofessional. I did not go with this company because of how unprofessional they are and how many times I had to bother them to get a answer when the first person I spoke to told me I would get a call within an hour and the second person I talked to gave me a answer right away. The only reason I'm giving this company a two star because Hayley was really nice and helped me right away which shows they have some customer service but still had a bad taste in mouth from how unprofessional they are that two different people had different things to say just for a rough estimate. read more

Great people to work with since day one when I called and talked to Karen, she was able to help me with questions I had. The AC was not working. I went online to check for good businesses to get estimates. I like to read YELP reviews before calling anyone. After reading all good reviews at Econo West I called and talked to Karen very friendly and knowledgeable, she was able to scheduled me for a free estimate the next day which was a Saturday. My service provider was Ethan, he called me before his arrival, he was very friendly, polite and professional. He gave me an estimare with options. I talked to my husband and he asked me to call other places before continuing which I did. I called a friend referral but it didn't meet our expectations. He didn't come to inspect, he wasn't sure about the cost and he was only offering a warranty for 90 days on labor and parts. After that experience my husband and I decided to go with Econo West regardless of price. We like service and professionalism. I called Karen and she scheduled me within one business day for repairs to be done. Ethan, Wayne and Ken came to do the job, awesome guys!!!! They came early to install a new furnace and I couldn't be happier. They did a very clean organized job. A few hours later the AC was working. To say the Econo West provided excellent service would not be quite descriptive of the way they handled my request for service. Friday 7/29 was the hottest day that I've ever experienced having lived in the Antelope Valley since 1982. The temperature reached 108 according to my outside thermometer. I usually have my thermostat fully programmed for automatic cooling. When I arrive home my thermostat was recording 95 degrees inside the house. So I programmed it to start cooling early. The unit ran all night until 11 pm with no change in the temperature. Saturday morning at 9 am I called Econo West and related my experience. The dispatcher took my information and updated my call record since a previous owner had used their service many years ago. I expected to hear from the dispatcher that they would schedule a call for sometime next week. Noooooooo, that was not what he said. He said that the service technician would arrive in 15 MINUTES!!!!!! HE DID NOT!!!!!! The service technician arrived at my front door with tools in hand in 10 MINUTES!!!!!! Wayne, my technician went right to work and within a short time had diagnosed the cause of my problem. He proceeded to fix the problem and performed remedial service on both my heating AND cooling system. Bottom-line, within 2 hours my AC was blowing cold air like never before. To say that the service was outstanding would be to minimize my satisfaction. The next time you have a problem, call these people. This company has been a pure joy to experience!! I originally sent a message via their website on Wednesday evening at around 530pm. Within an hour, the CEO himself, Dave Kerr, answered back via my email, giving me all info to contact them in the morning, along with the offer of FREE ESTIMATE. Thursday morning at 8am, I called and spoke with Rachel, who was friendly and kind, whom made sure to schedule two technicians to come to my home THAT day. I was having plumbing AND heating issues; Gilbert, the Plumbing Specialist came at 930am, doing a thorough walk-thru, fully explaining every issue and the repairs that would be required. Gave us a wonderful price on our Estimate, just as lovely and professional as could be!!! Then, at 130pm, Ethan, the Heating Specialist came, and after just a few minutes, did HIS MAGIC, and after an entire winter last year with NO HEAT, he had our Heater working, saying, nope, no charge, it was sooooooooooo simple, and this was quoted as a Free estimate!!!! This morning, Friday, at 8am, I called to schedule the repairs for our Plumbing, speaking to Candy this time, and the awesomeness continued, she was just as kind and friendly as could be; I requested Gilbert to do our repairs, she said no problem, checked his schedule for today, and he will be here TODAY between 12-4pm!! I had a service call with Econo West Inc. on my heater, and Geoff came next day to do the service, right on schedule, but that's only one small part of their business that I want to talk about. He (Geoff) was professional, knows exactly what he was doing, he is friendly, polite and honest with the pricing too. My first service was done about 12 months ago, unfortunately the part that he installed broke down (as all mechanical parts do). I was lazy and owe him a good review from last service, but this time I can't wait. Again, Geoff show up on time, inspect the problem, order the replacement part (this time a different brand - this means he pays attention to small detail). He came back a couple days later and completed the work, then charge me nothing, I mean zero! He said it's still under warranty, so there's no charge, not even the labor, did I hear it wrong or am I dreaming? And the best thing is, I found out Econo West also service AC and plumbing as well (we have at least 6 others jobs from other 'guys' in the past, and all were not happy at all). We've been living in Palmdale since 1989, knowing stuff around the house are aging, but we know we've found the best service people in AV that we can trust. I would highly recommend using Econo-West for any of your air conditioning or heating necessities. Especially in this industry it is hard to find someone with integrity that won't overcharge you or try and replace something that really doesn't need it. My mother is elderly and on oxygen and our air conditioner went out yesterday with the temperatures in the 100's. So I called Econo-West and explained our situation so they made special arrangements to make it out the same day!! I was very impressed by their commitment to take care of us and our situation. I also want to take this opportunity to thank Dan and Zach for their amazing customer service. Not only did they respond in a very timely manner but they also went above and beyond in assuring the job was done correctly.. They did everything they could to make the unit work with the minimum amount of repair. Dave with Econo West is amazing! He and his team have been helping my parents with their A/C needs for many years now. They have always gone above and beyond by providing outstanding service and quality equipment. Thus, when it came time for me to have my A/C repaired I called him. I live outside of their normal service area so I wasn't sure if they would be able to visit my location, however I figured I'd at least reach out since my parents have an excellent relationship with Dave and his team. I was shocked when they offered to assist me with my A/C even though it was outside their service area. I cannot emphasize enough how truly grateful I am to Dave for giving personal attention to my situation. He assured me that he'd help me get it taken care of and he certainly did! One day, I saw my 17-year-old hot water heater in my manufactured home with a small leak and tilting to the left. We fortunately had a replacement warranty with First American. It covered the heater and all the necessary hardware for a new installation. First American sent out a contractor that unfortunately did not read their relationship with the company. Thus, they submitted a quote for all materials and labor as my responsibility and the heater was by First American. Out of frustration, I decided to find a contractor for the work. I contacted Econo West. A plumber came out within a day. He spent about 15 minutes to review the scope of the work with me. Econo West sent the quote to First American. They in turn asked me if I was comfortable using the company and I said yes. I was surprised that they had prefabricated a pan to support the water heater prior to installation. Two days later the work was completed. I had reviewed the requirements from the old heater manufacturer and the new one. Both required an air inlet at the bottom of the door. The company somehow omitted it from the quote. When I brought it to their attention, they quickly installed it. I've been a loyal EconoWest customer for years, and there's a reason for that: Wayne. Wayne has been my technician for a few different services and repairs, and he's always been the epitome of professionalism, expertise, and customer service. My latest experience with Wayne was no exception. Last night, I got home and discovered that my thermostat had no power. I immediately called EconoWest, and Wayne was assigned to my case. He arrived promptly this morning and quickly diagnosed the problem: a faulty fuse on the HVAC. Wayne moved swiftly and efficiently, troubleshooting the thermostat, the electric panel, and the fuse. Over the past month, the outdoor unit on our air conditioner has been making a loud mechanical sound every once in a while. The system is still blowing cold air, but I was worried this was a sign of a coming failure. I called Econo-West because they had helped us with something a few years ago, and I was pleased when they scheduled a technician for the next day. Wayne was very polite, professional, and knowledgeable. He tested the Freon level and capacitor strength (?), tested the temperature of air blowing in the house, looked at our attic unit and ducts, and even changed out our filter in the house. My only criticism is that I felt like he was more interested in selling us a whole new system than in repairing the existing unit. Our AC/Heating system is original to the 1985 house, and Wayne was saying it's well beyond it's lifespan. He talked a lot about seeing people put money into old units that are destined to die, and I appreciate that he was looking out for us, but I was unprepared for the cost of a whole new system. He knew so many numbers and prices off the top of his head, which was very impressive! In the end, Wayne gave us a lot to think about for the future, but right now we are planning to buy a replacement fan and install it ourselves. read more

I can recommend Econowest Heating and Air without any reservations at all. I can personally attest to the fact they provide fast, efficient customer service. They are very eager to earn a customer's trust and future business as well. Dave, the owner is quick to respond to any and all comments or concerns you may have. And his team will stay on site until the problem is addressed and solved. Their rates are competitive and provide quality work. I had them out recently to work on my estate home and was quite pleased with the results of their service. I will recommend them to anyone that needs HVAC work. Guillermo and the guys showed up on time and stayed until the job was done. Even though my home has very tall ceilings - and they even had to go buy a different ladder from the hardware store to be able to access the crawl space. They did that without any complaints, which certainly made me feel like they valued me as a customer. I can also tell you that Dave K, the owner, he does care about his business very much. I had a very old split system that was a hot mess, ugly as all heck, and barely forced out any air to cool down my house. Most local AC contractors just told me to get a new system without looking at it (average quote was $10K), or they wouldn't provide written estimates. Richard Gomez of Econo West spent a good amount of time literally "showing' me everything that was wrong with the system inside and out. He gave me some options for both repairs, and for different price ranges of new system installs, which I opted for because repairs needed would cost more than half the price of a new system. He also gave me a detailed estimate in writing, and a good deal, and, he answered my questions. Zack, Richard and Clay did the tear down and new system install and I'm quite happy with the job they did. They are true professionals. The whole thing took about 8 hours. They hauled away all the old equipment, and cleaned up after themselves when they were done. There were no hidden charges - The total on the written estimate turned out to be the final price - imagine that? So far my new AC is working great - blowing nice cool air and even blowing papers off my table - I highly recommend this team and this company for all your AC/Heating needs. read more

We received outstanding professional friendly service and workmanship from Econo-West when we recently had work done for us by Dan. Dan did a very good job of explaining what our options were when our heater was not working, without being pushy. He even told us why it was not cost-effective to purchase more expensive equipment with a better efficiency rating for our situation when we decided to purchase a new heater. When Dan and his helper Robert took out the old heater we discovered that the ac coil was rusted pretty badly. Dan gave us a good price on that also. He found out that the drain was clogged and told us that that probably caused the coil problem. While at our house we had him check our cooling system and he found and showed us a leak that was caused by poor workmanship by somebody else. Again, Dan offered us a good price to fix that a later time. Dan was always very professional and seemed very conscientious and meticulous about the work he did for us. We learned that it will be money well spent to have tune-ups twice a year in the future. Had we done this in the past we could have prevented the ac coil from going bad. Of course we will have Dan from Econo-West do any future ac or heating work we need done in the future. read more

Today, Jeremy, Brian, and Zach arrived as promised to install a water heater and fire alarms. Before they started they answered all of my many questions and addressed my concerns. It was clear that they knew how to operate as a team by the way they got along and worked methodically on task. I was so impressed by their expertise, professionalism, knowledge and efficiency. The installed water heater looks really nice. The drilling and drain pipes are nicely positioned on the backside of my garage. The stack going to the roof was carefully placed, secured for leaks and wrapped. They even went onto the roof to make sure there were no leaks. They strapped the water heater securely to the garage wall and also placed it on top of a sturdy metal stand, making sure to do every step carefully to code. Their work is outstanding! They cleaned and cleared the trash and old heater leaving my garage clean. I can't say enough about the quality level of customer service I have received from Sharis, Christian, Jeremy, Zack and Brian. I enjoyed them being at my home very much and they loved my homemade chocolate chip cookies. I hope they thought about how happy I was as they ate a few on the way to their next job! I called this morning at 7:30, and Todd showed up at 8:30. They waived the 'service fee,' (which they probably would have done, anyway, since the service call was $89). Todd was business like, pleasant and efficient; he replaced the dead fuse, told us that we didn't need Freon or anything, and our AC works just fine now. So...why $89 to replace a fuse? I think that Todd was going to be a bit defensive about that, but I told Todd a story, probably apocryphal, about an engineer who had worked at Hoover Dam for many years. When he retired, he offered his services as a consultant, if his old bosses needed him. One day he was called into the dam and asked to figure out why one of the generators wasn't working. He walked back to the generator, eyed it for about thirty seconds and then kicked it. It instantly started up and hummed away properly. He billed the dam people $1000 for his call. When asked to justify it...$1000 for five minutes and one swift kick? The consultant said "oh, I only charged you a dollar for the kick. The rest of it was for knowing where to kick it." So, yeah...I'm happy with Econo West Heating, Air & Plumbing, and will remember them in two or three months when I can afford to replace the AC. read more

well, what can i say about my technician wayne except that he is one of the best that i have ever had repair any other mechanical system at my home. great personality, great sense of humor, extremely knowledgeable, not to mention a very nice guy. he located the problem in no time with my hvac. he took the time to show and explain the problem to me and told me how he would repair it.when he told me he would have to knock a hole in my wall i must admit i was thinking about wayne taking out his frustrations on my wall with a 10lb sledgehammer! but not to worry wayne put my mind at ease and assured me it be a very small hole and proceeded to complete the job in less time it takes me to shave.wayne showed me the completed job and i very impressed.as a matter of fact when my hvac system breathes it's last breath i will insist that wayne personally will be in charge of installing a new one!dave,wayne is a keeper but i am very sure that you already know that.i close by saying thank you to wayne and econo west and i recommend without hesitation to anyone that reads this review to please!please! call econo west to repair or replace your hvac problem.i guarantee you will be happy that you did.from steve hickler 5/21/2018 read more

At my parent's house, their 43 year-old HVAC unit was finally dying and needed to be replaced. Once again we called Econo West and once again they showed up on the same day. After giving the HVAC unit an optimistic refrigerant refill, at my parents request 4 months prior, the old unit just stopped working. Technician Jeremy was very clear, concise, thorough, and he answered the multitude of questions he was asked. We went the following day to the office. We were blind-sided by the forgotten Tri-Bureau-Credit-Data-Security-Freeze placed on my dad's credit. This freeze had been completely forgotten by my 83 year-old dad and his credit security guy. Dave Kerr the president, was very understanding, flexible, beyond considerate and totally worked with my Dad. Since it was a rooftop model, Dave had the 40 ton crane, Jeremy & crew at the house the next morning. The guys worked a hard 7 hours to completion. My parents are their 80's. Everyone we dealt with took the extra care, extra time, empathy and even "gentleness" with my folks. They clearly did not have to. BUT THEY CHOSE TO!! Hell, they even entertained a little! I have been using this joke of a company since 2018 when I purchased a swamp cooler from them for my rental property. Twice per year since the purchase of the swamp cooler I have hired them to maintain the unit and for the past 5 years they have literally done nothing and only charged me for "tune ups" and "maintenance"!! I have attached images of the original invoice for the swamp cooler purchase, maintenance invoices and current pictures of the state of the unit. The only reason I found out about the condition of the unit is because this joke of a company started charging more (can you believe they don't do anything and they are still raising their prices?) so I hired a Artic Air 661-945-8822 located in Lancaster to come out and tune up the unit instead. Only to find out Climate Heating & Cooling have never once touched the swamp cooler and only charged me. I have attached photos of the current state of the swamp cooler. Everything is rusted, dirty, never oiled, leaking, and belt has never been replaced. I have contacted RUDY and he has ghosted me and has no response to why my unit is in this condition. I repeat DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!
