Overall, a great stay. A couple notes:…read more - The woman who had originally checked us in was a little unfriendly, but warmed up and reciprocated our energy once we started talking to her. - My cousin requested that I put in this review that they add Franks Red Hot Sauce to the breakfast menu (which wasn't SUPER impressive, but not bad for a free/included breakfast. Wish the coffee would have been hotter.) - We weren't planning to swim anyway but the whirl pool was out of service, which would have sucked for people looking forward to hot tubbing, but that's a temporary thing out of their control and the signage was appropriate to convey that message. Other than that, I have no complaints! Clean rooms, mostly friendly staff, good atmosphere, comfy beds!

On July 21, 2025, at 18:20, I checked in having a three-night reservation. I advised GM Nikesh Chudhary that I would be checking out on Wednesday morning (a two night stay instead). He ran the amount for the three-night stay stating I did not give him 48 hours' notice!! When I confronted him that this was not right nor ethical, Nikesh Chudhary raised his voice in a disrespectful, highly unprofessional manner. He stated loudly that I didn't follow the rules and "I want my money". His behavior and attitude raised concerns for my safety. As I left for my room, he continued in a loud disrespectful tone that I needed to call Wyndnam. When I spoke to the Wyndnam call center, the representative advised me it's up to the hotel to handle any billing issues. The representative felt so bad for me and but was s unable to reverse the charges due to corporate policy. General Manager Chudhary clearly was dishonest, completely ignorant of Wyndams policies, and refused to discuss any reasonable compromise with a customer whose plans had changed. The people in Fort Dodge are wonderful. Many suggested there were much cleaner, newer and friendlier hotels in town.

We unfortunately didn't get to make use of the pool or fitness room and the breakfast bar was limited to packaged items. The staff were very nice and washed our laundry for us since no laundromats were open in the area. Cons: worst WiFi ever. To be here for 5 weeks and have such awful WiFi was pretty bad. Several of us had online classes to keep up with and video conferencing. If you're here for business pick a different hotel. They pay for a speed of less than 1 MBPS. That shouldn't even be an option anymore. Additionally, the cleaning staff were very lazy. I had to continuously ask for more toilet paper and water. Even asking and taking my room number it never improved. The cleaning staff did the bare minimal. I would give them 2-3 stars if I could rate them alone.

The check-in and check-out process have always been smooth and easy. I have never had any problems and neither have my numerous friends and relatives who have stayed here. Make sure you book early because rooms will fill up here quickly, especially if there is any type of event going on in the area. Definitely try out the whirlpool suite for a good time! :)

Lady was above and beyond rude about my dad throwing up in the room, he's a diabetic and his blood pressure changed and got sick. It's not something he can help. She claimed that she was upset and it was an inconvenience because she would have to deal with the manager. Will not return again and I wouldn't waste your money. It's noisey because of all the out of town workers. TAKE YOUR FAMILY ELSEWHERE. If you have kids that make a mess it will be a problem here.

They clearly do not recognize we are in the middle of a pandemic with our Covid numbers currently going up for our state. Found hair in my bathtub and there is splatter marks on the wall by the bed, on the fridge, and on the carpet. When I opened the 1st bed there was a blood stain by the pillow. Such an unclean hotel. Can't believe that they demand a credit card number for incidentals they can't clean their hotel properly.

The shower handle in the attached wash room was busted off. One of the lights inside the pool was floating on the surface and all the caulking that was supposed to hold it in place was black and floating around in it. Not to mention the HUGE hair ball which, if it gained sentience, could have easily eaten my small nephew. The signage to get out to the pool was also very confusing. It directed us to go outside which, apparently, was not how you get to the pool. Then when we tried to get back inside the door clearly marked "use room key to enter" didn't work. Apparently, according to staff, it's not supposed to? Yeah, we didn't understand either. Every surface that wasn't in our room was dirty. From the stairs to the doors to the walls--all were covered in a thin layer of brown grime. Finally, the windowsill was completely full of gunk because the screen in the window of our second story room was busted out, which made me think the last people took matters into their own hands and jumped. Don't blame them tbh. (But seriously, the window opened far enough that a grown man could've jumped out of it and the screen was wire, so it's definitely not new and had been that way for a long time.) All in all, I wouldn't stay here again if you paid me.

A woman pleaded loudly at midnight not to be evicted with her two teens, and another woman sat for hours in the breakfast area hiding from her husband. In the breakfast area a dusty, black curtain with splotches of waffle batter hangs over a filthy sill. The waffles tasted weird and there was no fruit. But the coffee was decent. A good example of this property's problems is in the lobby where the jug for the Culligan-style wate dispenser sat empty. And when you asked for water, they tried to sell you a small bottle for $1. The restroom was filled with dirty towels, shower head was tapped on and the vent was barely hanging on. The walls were covered in stains and the ac was an old school window unit. Overall I slept in my clothes sitting up and got the hell out of there. In my way out there was a guy nodding off in the lobby charging g his phone and I didn't even want to think about what his issue was.
