Big slide on main play structure.
Haley R.

I'd heard the playground was worth checking out and it absolutely was! Many of the same upgraded play items that you can also find at Clarke House but much closer to us. Loved the shade created by the trees as well as the tarp triangles. I am also a huge fan of the turf as I feel comfortable putting my little guy who's crawling on it to play. The only thing i wish were different would be another access point to the big slide where parents could join kids without climbing through tunnels.

Awesome skyline... water tranquil.

Truly amazon place to relax and unwind. Traveled from San Diego to visit my brother and they mentioned this place. This place surely didn't let me down. Beautiful- beautiful place!!!

I've been coming to this park since 2020 when all of the gyms closed. It's one of the best parks Jacksonville has to offer for getting steps in, walking your pet, & meeting other pet parents here for fenced in play time with your dog off leash (in the shade!, that's a huge help for the summer months) This park also includes a skate park, basketball court, disc golf, baseball grounds, water fountains along the perimeter walking trail, etc. I think one full lap around the trail is around a little over 2 miles. I love bringing my dog here so we both can get our steps in for the day, but also for meet ups with other pet parents and their dogs in the park. There is so much room for the pets to run, plus it's free! Poop bags, water, & trash cans are all provided. This is a great park to bring the whole family to.

Large Dog Park (25+ lb)

We love this park. It's huge and very well kept. The dog park is amazing! Well shaded, lots of seating, water stations, and trash cans. Our hounds love chasing all the squirrels as they hop from tree to tree. There is plenty of room in the large dog section for them to run for days!

HAPPY JACK JACK

Our Jack Jack LOVES this park! Plenty of parking, separate sides for "big" and "small" dogs, and there are cleaning areas (doggy bags) and fresh water fountains throughout the dog park. Lots of people running, playing, definitely make sure your dog is friendly because there are a lot of things going on here sometimes! A++++++

Nice place to walk with a huge track, nature scenery and sporting fields. They also have a dog park and skate park! Love this park and seeing all the animals on the trail! Oh and can't forget the disc golf course, check it out!

Wonderful park. With two leashless dog park areas fenced off. Our dogs love going there and making new friends. It is glad to have easy access to little bags for people to clean up after their dogs. There is plenty of shaded seating. People leave tennis balls there often for other people to use.

First time coming to this park it's nice and spacious. This park has a bit of everything for everyone, there's a large walking track, baseball field, skateboard park and small play area for the kids. There's plenty of shaded seating which is nice for the warmer weather.

Wouldn't it be fun to take your dog to hang out with these loveable dogs?

Ed Austin is a great park to take your pups to in the Jacksonville area. They do separate the big dogs from the small area, but as long as you feel safe bringing your little one over to the big dog side you should not have a problem doing so. The park is shaded with tons of tree so you can bring your dog even in the summer. There are dog parks in the Gainesville area that are great, but less fun for the pups due to sand and lack of trees in the afternoon hours. The park expects the guests to maintain the area by cleaning up after their dog and minding their owners look after them. Pros- Tons of trees for shade and help your dog play hide and side with their friends Water fountains dispersed throughout Plenty of tables for the humans to sit. Cons- You are not allowed to bring dog treats in.

*Members Only* This is not a free public dog park. You must register your pup(s) with signed copy…read moreof vaccination records and pay for membership at Atlantic Beach City Hall, which for one year is less than $100... We have been members for years. It's a great dog park, especially when it's hot out...because the pups can cool off in the water at their leisure. Water seems to be safe, as mine swim often and even drink it with no issues. My only complaint, and it's more so my own dog's fault, are the trees. Twice now, dogs running and playing (not paying attention), have inadvertently ran into trees. Luckily no broken bones yet. The trees do provide shade, so that's a plus. Also, I don't like that the dogs have access to a higher area on one side of the park, that's like a 6 ft wall they like to jump from. It has gates on either side but doesn't efficiently keep the dogs from getting up there. The entrance/exit area has a water hose to bathe your furry friends when they're done wrestling each other in the mud. Pro tip* don't wear your good shoes to this park...and don't wear any clothing you don't want dirty...some pups like to say hi and jump on the humans even when they're wet and dirty. It is after all, a dog park. I've seen a couple people get really upset that a dog got them dirty... You can bring balls, frisbees, chuck-its. My girl loves the frisbee. Sometimes she likes to take other's frisbees, and sometimes her's gets taken. So, we try to keep extras. There are usually tennis balls all around the park and in the water... There are no Rufarees or people there managing the park, just members. So please, if your dog is aggressive and not friendly (big or small), don't bring them to the park.

You will need a card from the City or someone already inside to get into the park. Small gated…read morespace with grass if you don't want to let the dogs near the water. If you have AWD there is a secondary lot access allowing you to park your vehicle directly on the beach. The bigger AWD vehicles (Jeeps, pickup trucks) can go all the way to the other end of the beach where the sand is like powder and the water is almost clear blue. The waves on the main beach were nonexistent so a lot of family with younger kids stayed on that side, it was quiet, kids playing in the water and parents chitchatting. On the AWD access it was more lively. Lots of big groups, young and older. Lot of different music, playing beach games. Down at the very end the waves were much bigger and that's where I saw most of the surfing taking place. Great for collecting shells. Lots of cool seabirds. On the main beach there were hermit and Filder crabs (they are too small for their pinch to hurt). Overall a great beach.

I really liked this park. When I went, it wasn't that crowded. If your car can handle it, you can…read morepark right on the beach. There is plenty of non-sand parking available. It was cool watching the St. Johns River meet the Atlantic Ocean. From what I could see, the only bathrooms available were port-a-potties. There are also very few places to seek shade, so you gotta make sure to bring your sunblock and beach umbrella.
