I have been using Ed & Company since 1996. They are enrolled with the Internal Revenue Service and they will appear with you in the event of an audit. I have been very happy with their services even though I have moved 3000 miles away! I spoke with, Allen Huber, the other day and he assured me that he could represent me even if I was living in California. It is very convenient for me to email my Tax Information to Ed, Allen or Kim and I am confident my taxes are prepared by true professionals! My only tip is that you should email your stuff no later than March 1st and call to make a telephone appointment, because they do book up solid, fast!!! read more

We've used Ed Murphy, owner of EJM Company in Rocky Point for our taxes for about 10 years. If you are a client of this company, I strongly suggest reviewing every number on your tax returns before signing them and also going back over the last couple of years' returns. Unfortunately the tax preparer made an error and he switched two numbers when inputting our income. This error then made it through the second person who checks for errors and we received a letter from the IRS that we owed a large amount of money in additional taxes and interest due to this mistake. Although the company did admit it was their mistake and covered the fees and penalties, they will not cover any interest that accrued due to their error as per office policy. Had the error been caught (or not made in the first place) we would have paid the correct amount and never have been charged the $2216 interest. They offered a free return this year but I no longer trust them handling this so I declined. I requested that my fee be returned from my tax prep in 2021 because the service was not performed correctly and they did refund this. If only that made up for the extra money and time spent on this issue! read more

Ed had been my CPA for over 20 years. Several weeks back I recieved a letter from Ed's office stating that all my tax return information was hacked and to sign up for the Experian credit watch service....I called his office several times in addition to writing him asking to speak directly so that I may understand the impact this hacking will have on me, Ed chose not to return my calls therefore I may only conclude that he obviously has something to hide...entrusting him with some of the most sensitive personal information...it gets hacked in his possession and he doesn't have the courtesy to even return my calls after 20 years.... what a professional... good luck to everyone that is a victim of this hack and watch out to anyone that was thinking of using him read more
