I bought two Tangi Turtles yesterday. They advertise that they are layered with pecans, fudge, and caramel. Both of the ones I ordered only had the fudge and caramel on the glass and pecans on top. I've only been to Eddies a handful of times while visiting friends at Southeastern or stopping bye after a day trip to Mandeville. The custard has always been top notch and a great frozen! This trip, I got a turtle sundae and my mom got a chocolate caramel shake! My turtle sundae was sweet with the perfect amount of salty from the pecans. My mom's shake was so rich, thick and creamy that she ate it with a spoon. Fun fact, I had already planned to order a turtle and it just so happened that there was an accidental mix up with the order before us, so an extra turtle sundae which I offered to have as mine. The staff agreed and no food was wasted, which I appreciated. We were able to sit outside and enjoy our custard after a long afternoon of deal hunting at the local Dirt Cheap. However, outdoor seating is limited so your best best is to drive through and bring your order home or eat in the car! As for COVID safety measures, I believe only 6 people are allowed inside the small storefront at a time. Masks are required when inside, but can be taken off when you eat outside. I had not had a good frozen custard since last eating at Ted Drewe's in Saint Louis, MO and was looking forward to trying a new offering. The building is old but very clean on the inside. As soon as you walk through the door and look over the counter, your eyes immediately see where the magic happens. The frozen custard machine is the size of an M60 (Patton) Main battle tank engine. As the yogurt is made, it chugs/slides down stainless steel troughs into a freezer. The entire footprint of the machine is ridiculously big, but the taste is in the pudding....er custard. I went all out and ordered the Tangi Turtle, probably named for Tangipahoa parish (county for those of you not familiar with parishes) in which the business resides. The Tangi Turtle consists of frozen Custard, hot fudge, caramel, covered with roasted pecans, whipped cream, and a cherry. This dessert is easily big enough for 2 people; perhaps 3. However, being the pig that I am, I engulfed it like my very life depended on it. It was definitely too much for 1 person, as the richness was simply overwhelming. If you are not in the mood, or dressed appropriately (aka pajamas), there is a drive thru if you want to take your custard home. However, the "dining room" has ample seating for a dozen or so people. The staff was very friendly and patient while I looked at the tempting menu and all the special custard treats. If you are a fan of frozen desserts and are ever in the area, get yourself a frozen custard from Eddie's. If you've never had one, you will forever be changed. read more

where to start? Family drives to Florida from Texas. We always make sure to stop by Eddie's frozen custard on the way. It is the highlight of our trip. The ice cream is so good, it's so delicious. Yeah asparagus, so lively, and the employees are always very nice. We haven't tried anything else on the menu besides the ice cream since it is so good, but I imagine that the other things on the menu are just as wonderful. The time I went recently, it was blueberry, and good. You can go and get Blizzard like concoctions, which I would recommend. They have a lot of add ins to choose from so it's pretty easy for everyone to find something they like. My favorite part is that there's a drive thru! We were traveling in a motorhome which wouldn't fit through their drivethru and they wouldn't even come to the window when I rang the hose so I called and even explained the situation and they refused to let us order.
