As a property investor in Florida, Maryland, DC and Virginia it is important that my contractors say what they do and do what they say in the time they say and provide quality products and services and reasonable/competitive pricing and this company hits all the buttons consistently. There is literally nothing they cannot do - and guarantee their work. They were able to take on some very complex issues in my rentals (specialized tiling, complex plumbing issues and electrical as well). I also contract out to them regular maintenance for my properties in Florida as I cannot always be there and are quick to respond and be on-site. They save me tons of headaches and money and even have saved me on property insurance in Florida which is HUGE! I only wish they provided services for my other properties in the DC/MD/VA area as I would contract them there as well. Cody gave me a bid for tiling my backsplash (~30 sq ft) that seemed good, so I hired him. He showed…read moreup an hour late (though he let me know beforehand that he was running late). We went over the work that needed to be done and he commenced work. A while later I needed to leave to run an errand (my wife was home though). When I got back, Cody's truck was gone, there were a lot of cut sheets of tile, but nothing on the wall and no Cody. I found a message from him on Yelp asking me to call him, which I did. It turns out he has "lost confidence" and abandoned the job. He said he tried to tell my wife before leaving, but she was unaware of this. When I spoke to Cody on the phone he indicated that I didn't owe him anything, and did offer to put me in touch with someone he felt could do the job. I didn't go with his recommendation mainly because I didn't have enough trust in him to make that choice. The guy I did hire was able to reuse some of the cut tile Code had left, but we needed to buy 5 more sheets nevertheless. There may be lots of things Cody is good at, but tiling a backsplash with herringbone tile sheets is not one of them, and abandoning a job is just not OK.

I called him today to install a sink disposal that was not working. I tried clearing it on my own, hit the button at the bottom. So I purchased a new one and called him to install it. He came in, asked if I 'used the tool' to un-jam it. I forgot to do that. He promptly got the tool and fixed the disposal in 5 minutes. He checked the pipes to ensure they were clear and was done. He didn't charge me his minimum fee, and quoted a very minimal amount. I paid him his minimum charge because he could have just replaced the disposal like I asked. He's honest and he feels his job is to save his customer's money. I HIGHLY recommend this handyman.

The guy came the same day, looked at it and said my condenser coil was rusted through and would need to be replaced. That was going to be $2000 - "but I might as well replace the whole unit" - which would be $5000-$6000. Okay, fine - but I need to get a few competing bits (and have someone else give me a second opinion). So I came here - Yelp - to look for a couple companies to call. I looked for 5 star reviews and John's was one of them. He had great reviews and just from talking to him on the phone I could tell he knew what he was doing and he could drop by later the same day. He looked it over and said the only problem was the drain pan was filled with sludge blocking the drain - $350 to clean the pan and the coils. WHAT?!! Sure - let's do that! We made an appointment for the next day. He came by on time, cleaned the unit with minimal fuss or mess and that was that - $350 the unit is no longer leaking. It is no exaggeration to say John saved me between $1600 for unnecessary parts or $4600 for a new AC unit. On top of that, he also noticed my water heater under the A/C handler had been wired wrong and fixed that too. I highly recommend John Pro Services - he's knowledgable, professional, honest, cleaned up after the job and didn't try to upsell me on something I didn't need. Also put heavy metal ladder against gutters smashing them and bending them completely, scraping the white paint off the gutters everywhere the ladder was moved.
