Not sure exactly what kinda shop it was I knew I just had to take a peak. Walking in I was immediately welcomed and greeted by the staff. Not sure exactly what kinda products the store had I found myself looking at everything. Within the first few minutes I discovered it's was a lot of New Mexican themed items like shirts with the Zia symbols. A lot of cool pins. I found one in particular that was a name tag with the "hello my name is" and in the blank read "Cabrón". They also had the female version with "Cabróna". Boy did I get a good laugh. I just had to buy one for me and my dad. I also found some cool breaking bad themed magnets there. They even had chili pepper pens! The place was really cool, and I'm glad I stopped in. Next time I'm in the area I'll gladly come back. Might need some more of those hilarious name tags! They were so cool even the chef Aaron May who was a special guest at the 25 years of flavor for a good laugh. Everyone thought that was really my name it was great lol thanks again Brotique! I'll definitely be returning!

Over the years, I would go in and visit and continued to love the atmosphere and the people. I will grant, the building is very old. This is the NW valley after all and there are lots of very old buildings that are still in use for homes, businesses, etc. Quite a few of them are showing their age which, to a good many people, it adds to the charm. There have been some roof problems. Gee, live in NM, have a flat roof and you are going to have problems. That may have been where Stewart got the smell from. Personally, I have never smelled cat pee or any other bad smells in there. Why are there not more employees in there? Most of the artisans leave their wears on consignment, so usually, there is any where from 2 - 4 employees in there at a time, sometimes more, and if they are busy with other customers then you may have to wait a few minutes. As for not many cars in the parking lot, I can point to a lot of businesses that have times of the day or days where there are no cars in the parking lot. That doesn't say anything about the quality of merchandise and services inside. There are over 15 different vendors selling their merchandise and services. I would say that at least 80% of it is hand made by the vendors. However, the Avon store carries Avon products, jewelry, and other products that are made by Avon. She also orders some wonderful inspirational art, souvenirs and other items that are made elsewhere. But, that adds to the great variety of merchandise available. Stewart's last statement was, "This place either needs to search out some better vendors or they won't be around too long." Well, that was 2 years ago and Little Shops is still going strong. Lots of people come in for the first time and love the place and there is a lot of repeat business. Please, don't take Stewart's word for the quality Little Shops . Check them out for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

I turned around and she didn't even pretend like she was doing something else. She just walked away. I thought maybe it was a coincidence. I put the chocolate down, said loudly "I can't I'm good conscience spend my money here." And left.

Nothing that had that New Mexico vibe that my dad would actually use or display. Enter the last day in Albuquerque: I still didn't have a gift picked out. I decided to take my chances at the Albuquerque airport. This shop is one of the first shops we came to. At first, I was worried. Airport shopping. Airport gift shopping. Convenience. Touristy. I'm going to make a small house payment on a gift, right? Wrong! I came across these tiles there. It was already on my mind that I wanted something with a roadrunner on it. I knew my dad would display something with a roadrunner proudly. After all, since they aren't in Kentucky, I don't think he has ever seen one. Even in Albuquerque, I only saw two! I ended up with a tile with the shape of a roadrunner on it. Honestly, I almost wanted to keep the gift for myself. This is a great shop to find a quick and inexpensive gift for someone back home. This visit was gift buying, but on future visits, I wouldn't mind having a few items from this store myself. It was made even better by my dad hanging the tile as soon as I gave it to him!
