The wait staff was incredibly friendly and attentive from start to finish. The atmosphere is quite and a little rundown. We stopped in for the first time on a holiday, and they happened to be running a buffet (not sure if that's a regular thing). It worked out great because I got to sample a little bit of everything--ham, potatoes and gravy, fried chicken, and more. My lady ordered the chicken melt, and we also grabbed a tenderloin and honey BBQ wings to go. Portions across the board are big and filling. Most of the food was solid, though nothing really stood out--until dessert. The Oreo cheesecake? Absolute perfection. Anytime I'm passing through Fremont, I'm stopping here.

What a treasure!! My wife and I stumbled upon Baxters about 5 years ago. It's wonderful. The food…read moreis simple and very tasty. No high frills special grind ground beef here. Just a solid hamburger with a well toasted bun, fresh toppings, and a choice of about 8 or so different kinds of sides. I've had the fried pork tenderloin which is the side of a dinner plate and a few of the burgers. My favorite is the chipotle burger with jalapeños and jack cheese with a smokey hot mayo that is scrumptious. The maple burger is epic too!! Try the onion rings that are a huge pile set for a family. Don't think of eating them yourself. Service is down home and very efficient. Don't be surprised to wait a bit for a table in this small town as there were two servers and a ton of people on the nights we've been. It's not pretentious but very great service. Ambience is machine shed, small town charm. It's comfortable. You'll see people you know and everyone else seems to know one another. You might be sitting next to your neighbors!! Try Baxter's!! Make the drive and check it out if you haven't. It's worth the drive.

I love the small town atmosphere of places like this old-time classic soda fountain shop. The…read moreserver was very nice, and attended to us quickly. The ice cream and pies on offer looked tantalizing, but we came in for dinner first. We ordered 2 hot sandwiches and swapped halves so we could enjoy sampling more on our first visit. We tried the Italian Stallion and the Great Dane sandwiches, both on sourdough, with fries on the side. We loved both sandwiches, but thought the Great Dane was better. The American Fries are actually roasted, seasoned new potatoes (not fried potatoes), but they were delicious! For dessert I had to go with the classic banana split because they are hard to come by. Amazing! I highly recommend this place if you are in the area!

The Classic is just that, a beloved local spot in downtown Brooklyn where the friendly service and delicious food made for a truly memorable dining experience! The staff made us feel right at home from the warm greeting at the door to the server's helpful recommendations. The menu offered plenty of options, including daily specials. My tacos were delicious and bursting with flavor. Whether you live nearby or just passing through - i would definitely recommend making a stop here.

I'm changing to a three star review because these two restaurants are really on both ends of the spectrum. PO Box - 5 stars American Table - 1 star This updated review will be about the "American Table" The Good- Beautiful ambiance. Nice young man doing his best as our server. The food was tasty once we got it. The Bad- It took forever and a day to get our food. Some of our food was piping hot and some was cool at best. They forgot all kinds of extras we had ordered like soup. The staff was just strange and clueless most of the time. The Ugly- two tables around us up and left and never even received their food. The staff was bickering around the customers trying to make order out of the chaos. We had multiple meals brought to our table that we never ordered. It's almost as if they don't have a numbering system for the tables or the expo person gave no instructions. We will come back to the PO Box, but never again to the American Table.

Ambiance: This place is beautiful. Food: My husband had the…read morelamb shank and it was good. My son had the cajun pasta it was not amazing but it was fine. I had the bone-in pork loin and it was extremely dry, like make you want to dunk it in your water glass dry. The side of veggies was clearly frozen vegetables warmed up in the microwave. I had the soup, which the waitress described as "some sort of pork soup". I asked for clarification she said there was some other name for that she couldn't recall, but the chef said basically, its pork soup. The broth in the soup was quite good, but other than a couple chunks of celery, it was a lot of pork, seemed like maybe left over pulled pork. But it was my favorite part of my meal. They are clearly going for fine dining with the prices and the look, and they're almost there, but missing the customer experience touches, details, and execution to pull it off. I'm pulling for them to be successful, so I'm hoping they learn and make the necessary changes to make it work. P.S. I was there for a business catered function, they served 3 kinds of traditional pasta, salad, and dessert and that was fantastic. P.P.S. The downstairs casual restaurant is fantastic
