Stopped in while visiting Pella for their Kerstmarkt. Ended up spending the most here due to the outstanding selection of meats and cheeses. The staff offered samples of their famous bologna which landed us with a whole link to go. That paired with the interesting cheeses (we got nettle cheddar, extra hot, and a cranberry orange fresh farmer's cheese!) made for a great charcuterie spread for our friends. read more

My sister and I are in town for the Tulip festival. There are hoards of people everywhere! We just got some S letters to nosh on. We walked in and they have box lunches that include a sandwich, chips, cookie and beverage for $7.00. I chose a sandwich that was their bologna, ham and cheese. I should have specified hot. It was a good deal. I removed topbun to save carbs. They let me sample the pineapple beef sticks. I bought 2 and we chowed on them waiting for the parade. Since we were so far away from car and didn't bring a cooler, we didn't purchase anything else. read more

Great selection of cheese! Service was friendly. Not a sit down spot but you can take it to go and eat it at the square right across from it. Got a sandwich and it hit the spot. Had plenty of deli meat in it and the bread wasn't dry. Came with mustard and mayo on the side for you to add on your own. Also came with a little napkin and mint. read more

Hand's down, the best beef sticks and jerky I've ever had! I lived in KC and currently NYC. But it must be something in their Iowa meat, because theirs is the best of the best. We've been buying Pella beef sticks from our local grocery store for quite some time, so we were excited to stop in the shop for the full selection. I love the pineapple, and jalapeño beef sticks, and my husband loves the jerky. We bought a variety of brats, too but haven't had a chance to try them yet but I'm sure we will love them. This place is great! We are from So. California, we were in town for the tulip festival( day before) and found this place. The employees are so friendly and helpful explaining the different food items to us. We walked out with cheese, dried beef, potato salad & pretzels. The beef dip was delicious! If you are in town and looking for a meat shop/deli, come on in and explore. They even had pies, complete dinners that needed reheating. Great for those in RV's needing a delicious easy meal to prepare. read more

Wow!! The quality cannot be beat here. It's super fresh as in with some items literally right out of the smoker. And the smell is delicious. They have an awesome selection of cheeses, cured meats, spreads, and uncured meats like steaks. The meat sticks are to die for!!! The staff was amazing and we ended up leaving with more than we planned but that's not bad when we will enjoy every bite!! Ring bologna is one of my favorite ground tube meats. I love it almost as much as I love a good hotdog. Which they have too all beef and home made. They also have beef jerky made right on site. They were sampling this dried beef dip they make. It was awesome!! Everyone who tried it was purchasing some including me. One of the reasons to go to Pella is the ring bologna. Ulrichs bologna is smoked to perfection and I'd never go to Pella without picking up a few packages. I get it vacuum packed for the freezer and a couple of the fresh ones to take home and eat with cheese and cracker. Ulrichs definitely knows ring bologna. read more

Lots of yummy samples and meaty gift items here, in addition to the deli offerings one might expect. The cheese curds, ham dip, and sausage were amazing, and the lady at the counter helped answer all our questions and offered us samples of everything! Wow! For the very brave, they have some local wines to include in your picnic basket. My only regret is that I ate lunch at a cafe down the street before stopping in this shop. I really would have enjoyed a sandwich here, instead! read more

Never order online or by phone. I have order three times in the past year and they have screwed it up every time. Forgot to bill and charged me 6 months later, shipped to wrong out of state address, charged me four time for one order. Owner is a surly person that basically hangs up on you when you try to resolve the problems. My recommendation is spend you money elsewhere or roll the dice on this business, which seems to be inept in both being able to ship and take correct payment. read more
