I had some version of cordon bleu at the recommendation of our awesome server and I destroyed it! As we got ready to leave, it was bathroom time so we went inside. Bathrooms are upstairs and oddly I found it cool to see what looked like incredibly old stairs. Never thought a trip to the bathroom would be cool but the stairs were worn in the middle and made me think of how many people might've walked these stairs. They were already fully booked for the rest of the night, and closed for the next two days. I was so disappointed thinking that I won't be and to try it based on all the reviews. Since we were staying around the corner from there. I asked the guy if I can get take out. He did me a favor and was able to accommodate that. I saw a "take away available" sign hidden when I was waiting for my order, so I am pretty sure that they weren't taking take out orders either. We took it back to our Airbnb, and it was so yummy. We got the Munster and the Gratinée. I'm so glad that we were able to try this place during our trip. Thank you so much to the kind staff who was able to accommodate my take out order. The place was fully booked - several people were turned away during dinner. Staff and owner here are really friendly, very helpful and extremely attentive. You really feel welcome and taken care of here. Fantastic. After the complementary Amuse Bouche we got our starter: The Foie Gras (duck AND goose). Two generous slices of the best quality. Smooth silky, great flavours. Loved it. Also good to share (since our main was pretty big). Then we went for our main: Bouillabaisse! A rich fish soup, one of THE famous classic french dishes. Here it gets presented in three servings. So it's a pretty big, filling meal. The broth - the soup itself - was really full of wonderful flavours. Great balance of spices and salt. The first plate came with lobster tail. On the side was crispy bread, mustard and shredded cheese. Put the mustard on the bread and the top it with cheese. Put it in the soup, soak it for a short while and eat. Great combination! The second and third serving came with different kinds of fish. All of high quality. All with very few fishbones. After three plates each the Bouillabaisse was gone...and we were pretty full. A really fantastic meal, great Bouillabaisse. It is only served from two people and up. Other items on the menu looked very good as well. But maybe for another time. Definitely a great restaurant. Starter, bottle of Crémant and Bouillabaisse for two for around 150 Euros. My son ordered a ham hock dish--amazed to have something people at home use to flavor greens made into a signature-level dish...falling off the bone, tender as can be, perfectly seasoned. I had the baeckoffe (like a casserole), which was also delectable, but I remain envious of that ham! Ambience is beautiful. The interior has an old world, classic feel. Outside is the usual European patio right next the the bustling sidewalk...the essence of relaxation. Service is fantastic. Helpful and knowledgeable.
