Ever since I graduated from college and got a job in a fairly relaxed and casual creatives-driven environment, I never had the need for really uptight and stiff formal wear. I can lounge around my work in jeans or in slippers. But when I got promoted and had to regularly meet with clients, I needed to build a corporate wardrobe.
Edgar's Alterations near Camp Crame was my option, because I like my formal slacks and suits tailor made. I am at that awkward phase between losing so much weight and still stubbornly clinging to my bad eating habits that my weight yo-yos every now and then ,requiring me to have my clothes altered to fit. I also hate shopping for off-the-rack clothes because nothing fits me - either everything is too long, too snug or too wide at some parts. I value custom-made because it turns out just the way I want it. Edgar's team of tailors work in a rather dingy little shop, but I don't care much for the look of the place. What's important is tailoring has been their bread and butter for so long, since most of their clients are the policemen and high-ranking officials from the camp across the street, so they must really have a great sense of fit. I had three slacks custom made for only around P800 each, much less than department-store bought ones that I have to bring to the tailor to be altered anyway.
I was given a large collection of fabric swatches to choose from and I settled for their darker and heavier materials The construction of my slacks are very durable, and the stitches are neat, "pulido" as my dad would say. I have worn the slacks to weddings, meetings and conferences since, and they look great with anything. If you want cheap custom-made clothes that are very well-tailored, find Edgar's and get a quote. You can find them near the Camp Crame side gate with the Veterans Bank ATM and the visitors entrance. read more
