Hi Cindy, I would like to let you know it was NOT a township…read moreissue and WE know this because we talk to plenty of neighbors that live on the surrounding streets whom all had water/hot water. So please don't insult my intelligence by lying to me and thinking I didn't do my homework before saying something...... I obviously know people that live there who went DAYS without hot water so once again don't lie as if I made all this up!!!!!! I wrote in a "negative light" due to the lack of response you have showed your tenants.

I strongly recommend avoiding this apartment complex…read more The management is difficult to contact. It took numerous phone calls and emails to get easy problems with the apartment taken care of. There are three managers - the owner, the manager, and the technician - who play off of each other to get out of their responsibilities. The rent is pretty reasonable, but it did get bumped up each year I lived there. They pay for heat, which is pretty good, but, if you do rent there, check your thermostat. Mine didn't work. The apartment also gets mice. When you move out, the manager does a walk-through with you, and he gives you a signed paper with how much of the security deposit he takes out. The first security deposit we received gave us the wrong amount because they said we were there one year and we were actually there two years. The second security deposit they sent us still took out money for holes in the wall, which were not listed on the agreement we signed during the walk-through. I've contacted the manager three times, and he has yet to respond.

The buildings in the Longford are old, and have thin walls. Whether you can live peacefully in the…read morehome you pay for is completely up to the mercy of your neighbors. To make things worse, the management does not care about your issues once you are a tenant. I had a downstairs neighbor who would regularly watch TV and play video games on his home entertainment system very late at night. The volume, be it the explosion sounds from a game or the baritone voice of a documentary's narrator, would be loud enough for me to clearly hear behind closed doors in my bedroom, despite that it was coming from the downstairs' units living room. This would regularly occur at times like 2:00 AM in the morning. When I called building management about the noise, the manager, Cindy, told me "Your neighbor have the right to play loud music in his home. Even if it is 2 in the morning." This comment struck me as very ignorant and contrary to the right to peaceful enjoyment afforded to me as a tenant under the laws of Pennsylvania. Rather than arguing with her over something as basic as whether loud and regular noise is acceptable at ungodly hours in the night/morning, I simply decided to not renew my lease, and it was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. The Longford also have mice. They are much more active during the winter months, when they come into the buildings from the outside in search of warmth. I have called Cindy regarding the mice as well. The very last time I called was regarding noise from the mice that I heard coming from my ceiling. Cindy insisted that it was simply a squirrel. I explained that squirrels don't squeak, especially at night, and in a group. However, Cindy did not listen. She grew increasingly emotional, and vehemently insisted that it was merely a squirrel that I heard. After that conversation, I no longer bothered to call management about any further signs of mice that I detected in my home. On top of issues typical of an older building with thin walls and a rodent population, you'll also be dealing with a lot of these Cindy-isms when you live at the Longford. PS - I've included some pictures of the mice that I caught in my home at the Longford over the past couple of years. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe these are Hairless Tailed Miniature Squeaking Cindy Squirrels, a brand-new animal species discovered right here at the Longford. You can decide for yourself.

This place is terrible squirrels getting into her apartment and roofs caving in. My sister has had very unhealthy living conditions here. The maintenance man does not know what he's doing. They sanded her walls and didn't cover all her valuables and left her with an apartment full of dust. She is 76 years old and cannot clean this as she has bad knees. She pays rent here and as far as I'm concerned they should pay her to live here. Do not make this your home. This place should be condemned. Management left an old stove in her place when replacing with a new one because the maintenance guy can't carry it out. Now her toilet needs replacing as it's the original and I am sure they won't accommodate her. These living conditions are terrible and unexcusable especially with the amount of rent she pays. She will not allow them to paint at this point as she might end up with paint on everything. Management does not care it's very obvious. Do not live in Barry Court Apartments.

Obviously new construction will have issues, but Toll has done everything in their power to be rude and get around everything. Issues - several major - some will happen through any builder, but the response from Toll has been pretty awful on the major issues: * Prior to closing, someone left a window open during Hurricane Ida and Toll will not replace the carpet. They took months to respond to a promised reimbursement for the mold test and have yet to even acknowledge the report. The senior project manager for the community told me that, "I'm a Software Engineer, I'm a smart guy, I can figure it out online." First page last paragraph of the report lists the specialists that are needed to decipher the report. Clearly nobody has read the report after 2.5 months. * Prior to closing, Hurricane Ida flooded a portion of the basement around the sump pump and they won't replace the carpet/resolve the issue. * The granite counters in our main bathrooms were not cut to the right specifications (their contractor's words) so there is too much room where the faucets lie. This causes water to POUR through the counters into the cabinets below. You can shine a light underneath the sink and see it shine through the openings. Toll won't replace the granite. * The senior project manager told me that they do indeed allow more than 2 pictures to be uploaded to their warranty site to use as evidence of issues and he told me non-image files could be uploaded so I could upload a mold spore test. Aside from not being true, **I checked their website code and found where they restrict this - he just completely lied to me with a straight face.** * Our backup sump pump battery had its wires literally cut according to the electrician who installed it. * The holes to the sump pump cover were never sealed and the HVAC tube was never placed inside causing water to spew all over the top for 3.5 months. * Our pantry door was cracked and peeling on the corner and they "fixed" it by putting some tape in the crack and pressing it together. I had to escalate 3 times to senior project manager to get a new door. * Every single towel rack & toilet paper holder in the entire house came off of our wall or fell apart. * Our back porch light is put on at some random angle that isn't straight and they won't fix it. * The senior project manager's assistant/his next in-line told us an upgrade to our house couldn't be done because of building and fire code. We fought them enough and they finally did it, despite it apparently going against code (it doesn't). * A family member in the same community had the senior project manager tell him that he did not need a p-trap for his sink! * The furnace had a broken part so it wouldn't start up the first few weeks we were in the home. * Our deck screen door came right off the first time we used it. * They will not replace bent high hats that will gradually cause lights to fall out. * A window was cracked. * A window was missing a screen. Is there no quality assurance?...
