The nuns at the Good Shepherd Convent make THE BEST peanut brittles and ube jam in the Philippines…read more Whenever I people ask me what I want from the Philippines, I tell them to get me this peanut brittle. This was my first visit to the Good Shepherd store. It's got decent views of the surrounding farmland. The lady working the counter was very nice too, but unfortunately, they offer no samples. So if you wanna try ANYTHING, ya gotta buy it first. At least the majority of their items are cheap..

Donations and some of the proceeds give to thescholars who work at Bahay Pastulan in Tagaytay. They have many specialties like their ube jam, alfajores, lugaw, pancit, choco flakes. Most of their sweets are excellent. The ube jam is so heavenly because they source their own ube - it is smooth, silky, not too sweet and creamy. I think their recipe is fresh grated ube, carabao's milk, sugar and perhaps butter. These is like addicting ube jam because you can eat it on a spoon or use it on any baking application. Menu here is diverse. 5/5. Ambience here is a steep hilly, so prepare for a cardio and leg workout. But it is so worth it! The mini kiosk on your left serve Filipino dishes like pancit, lugaw, puto and other cooked food while the big store on your right is where all of the signature sweet specialties are found like ube jam, jams, choco flakes, sampaloc, alfajores and other baked goods. 5/5. If you took your vacation on a weekday and in the morning. You will expect short lines. But it was Christmas season, so expect few customers buying boxes full of ube jam for secret santa and gifts. Service is organized and lady was nice. 5/5. If you were to bring some pasalubong back home. I suggest you buy the 900g ube jam in a plastic container, choco flakes, alfajores, sampaloc and other baked goods are great. But please don't buy the ube dimples - they were old and chewy - horrible from the product line. Get the lugaw and pancit - surprised but really good!

I was surprised at how pricey their food was given the interiors of the resto was really simple - like an airconditioned carinderia. This was because their food portions were big. I got the seafood in a regular plate. It came with shrimp, squid, tanigue and alimasag. The sauce was too rich and thick I lost interest in the dish after a few bites. The alimasag had no meat in it at all. Would have been better if they replaced it with more shrimp or squid. I didnt eat the complimentary soup because it used meat stock. My friends liked their sisig and chicaron bulaklak. Overall I wasn't impressed. If you are a meat eater you might love their food.

This restaurant specializes on those two dishes and they do it in utter perfection. This a small establishment seated in the confines of Nuvali. It's a simple restaurant that probably has a seating capacity of 30 people. They have a wide menu of your favorite Filipino dishes that it's such a family friendly place. Everything is served family style and comes to you very fast. The food is so good that you'll just keep wanting more. The best part is that you can take home marinated Bangus and just fry it at home whenever you're looking for this particular, wonderful taste.

Though, not a lot of people know that further inside Gourmet Farms is a Mediterranean-inspired fine dining restaurant called The Dining Room. It's yet another one of those structures that are inspired by those houses in Santorini, Greece--all white and turquoise with a dome. Their menu is more refined than that of the storefront cafe, so if you're feeling a bit more fancy, head here instead. My family and I went here for an early New Year's lunch and since we had our dog tagged along (which they allowed!), we opted to eat al fresco. They have a pretty nice ambience since you'll be eating adjacent to their gardens. While I couldn't say anything about their meat dishes, I really enjoyed their salad bar. It's a piece of heaven for any hungry vegetarian/vegan. The greens are fresh, the roasted vegetables were flavourful, and they have a variety of salad dressings available. You're guaranteed to have super fresh produce, too, since it's really pretty much farm to table here. This place is great for families, or for a lunch/dinner date. Though if you're looking for a quick bite, opt to eat at the cafe instead since this place can get a bit pricey.

The facade of the restaurant is like a Greek house in Santorini. It serves organic, farm to table dishes. They grown their own lettuce and coffee. Upon request, you can visit their lettuce farm just behind the restaurant and walk around the farm and see how everything starts. Being a frequent visitor, we probably have ordered everything on the menu. They often offer a buffet with unlimited fresh salad. Price is very affordable and worth the value. The vegetables are fresh and crisp. I also love their pastas and meals. Don't forget the banaba iced tea, This is the place to go if you want to eat healthier and in a good environment. Parking is ample.
