a tedious experience with overpriced self important egos who don't value professionalism. I am almost 40 with thick hair that has been blonde, black, long, short and everything in between. I am transitioning from dark to my natural colour of medium brown. I lifyed the original colour a month ago and went to edwards and co for step two of a lengthy process. my appointment was 4 hours before closing. I wrote what I wanted with a picture and described the hair journey thus far in my booking that I had to make online as nobody could make themsleves available to talk to me for two days. I shouldn't have bothered, when I got there I described what I had written into my booking and the representative looked at me like something she had gotten stuck on her shoe. She insisted on doing the whole process in one go, but I had to return for a morning appointment as 4 hours wasn't enough. I requested foils and a blow dry. I was only there for foils and a blow dry. She wanted to lift the very few streaks the previous hairdresser had done, which I did not want. i have only encountered one hairdresser at E&C that gave me a blow dry that lasted more than a day and she had loved to canada, so I could have foregone that. I have thick long hair and I don't like spending a full day dealing with it because that's not my priority. I prefer to do it in phases; this is not my first time at the rodeo. She said She had to talk to somebody, left me waiting for half an hour and came back with the tablet to book me in for another appointment. I explained to her that it is a business day. I have a full time corporate job. i would have to reschedule the appointment, but not with this place. Not when there are so many other reputable places that couldn't possible charge more than edwards and co and would have to work pretty hard to achiever this level of entitlement. I explained I had taken the day off for the appointment and organised a sitter for my dog, to which she stared blankly. There wasn't an ounce of an apology for the way she wasted my time for failing to read the booking notes and photos provided. I went to edwards and co because I grew up in western Sydney, where I found hair salons to be a dream. But since moving to the city, I had gotten disappointing haircuts and blowouts that went frizzy immediately. Travelling back west became hard so I asked for recommendations, and tried edwards and co. The second stylist I saw there was a dream. she was professional and skilled and down to earth. Since she left, I've gotten a haircut that lasted a month (previously lasted six months), couldn't get a hold of anyone to talk to about service I wanted on this visit for my hair journey and completely disrespected today by their representative. The one thing I will say Is that her demeanour from the get go made me sorry I would end up paying 500-1000 for the appointment, so I'm glad i didn't part money with somebody looking down her nose at me. But I trusted the brand edwards and co and now see that I shouldn't have. I have never felt less like. A paying customer and more like an inconvenience - speaking of inconvenience, the flippant waste of my time made me write this. I cannot believe anyone would have such a lack of manners as to shrug it off and make it out like it was my fault when I was clear from the moment I booked and paid my deposit that she didn't even reference to ensure I got my refund (now I'm chasing that up, more time wasted) in such a brazen way really makes me see that this establishment does not respect its clients. read more
