I go to the alternative school next to the EHS but it is still technically EHS property, the school I go to is supposed to be therapeutic when in reality it's a circus. We don't even have an official principal, the halls always smell disgusting due to the plumbing. The tables still have gross substances and crumbs from breakfast on them. I would not recommend success academy for anybody who has a learning disorder, mental illness/disorder. They're just trying to get you to go to the other high school which I personally believe to be unhelpful. There are thousands of students in that building and it's huge and easy to get lost in. If you are looking for a therapeutic school for your child do not pick Success Academy. Most staff are very friendly but that's about it. The food tastes like it is from the freezer. read more

between pepperspray in the halls, weed smoke and vapor rolling over the stalls like san francisco fog. 4 years worth of burnt cheese built up in the microwaves, and a new broken ceiling panel each week. i would not recommend ehs. it may be rated highly for education. but for students and their personal health i would give it a zero. The food is expired and what the school issues to students is pathetic. all in all 5/5 stars. no flaws read more

Yesterday I was served tacos with cold meat and cheese, they also served the lunch with French fries. It was supposed to be Taco Tuesday...I would not ever eat at this school if I could. Terrible food. Great lunch ladies though. read more

I am a former EHS graduate (now in med school) and I gave two stars simply because the location is safe, the school is relatively clean, and they have some resources for students to use to make it into a good college. However, like most schools, they really have little to no helpful guidance for how to use said resources. In addition, they have faculty that do not believe in encouraging creativity or the power of a student to make changes in school. When trying to change the school times to a later start so students would not be walking around like sleepless zombies, I was told "you're just too young to affect that kind of change". This was said because, despite giving evidence and solutions to all issues previously posed as barriers, the then principal at the time, I was left to believe, was simply wanting an excuse to get out of the work. The lunches, as at most schools, are neither conducive for health nor encouraging diversity. I am making this post not to solely "hate on" EHS, but as a call to all schools to genuinely reevaluate if it is ok that the education system in this country is one of the most expensive in the world yet has comparatively low positive outcome measures. read more
