Beware... after you pay off your vehicle loan and they tell you that you have NO payments pending... you may still have your payment taken out and put into a 'Savings' account if you didn't think to close your member account when you pay off the loan. They did not advise me that I would need to close a member account after paying off my loan in order to stop payments from continuing to come out of my account. In addition to that, they had to mail my check to me after closing my account even though all my money was taken out electronically. Also, their website was not user friendly... possibly because the account was opened through a dealership, but regardless, was not user friendly. read more

I have tried over the years to avoid posting about this financial institution, however, enough is enough. Not only did they blatantly lie on the phone, confirmed by multiple individuals, but they expect their customers to settle for things that they themselves would not. From horrible customer service making customers sign DocuSign documents on the phone, to not granting the premise of advertisements and offers they display. To accepting payment, posting an incorrect amount, NOT catching it, and when we did NO explanation as to how it happened, or why the agent the day before flat out lied regarding the micr line of my check. Then taking an additional ACH payment because we supposedly wrote $50.27 on the line of a check written for $502.78...THEN spending 45 minutes on the phone with Kathy to get my options to fix things, THEN having to get a call back from Jennifer Moretza, a manager who denied our request for the 90-day payment offer to be made valid, to tell us there is nothing at all she can do. I have worked in the finance industry for over 15 years, this is BY FAR, the worst experience I have EVER had with a Credit Union or bank. I will soon be done with it as Jennifer has shown us that we are not valued members or customers. Thanks for the clarity EECU. read more

I bet that all of you have a place you go, mostly out of necessity, that is grossly and simply adequate. In fact, most of the people in your life don't even know you go there. When you do go, it serves the purpose but is underwhelming. So underwhelming in fact, that when you are waiting you begin to notice the drab nature of it. Sometimes you enjoy being in this place, though it usually has to do with your mood in general that day. You notice that at your little place, the staff is uninvolved. The lights are most absolutely fluorescent tube bulbs, placed on the setting of "A bit brighter than Cutting Edge haunted house. This, my friends, is EECU for me. I recently upgraded my vehicle at David McDavid Honda, and after spinning the old financing roulette wheel, I landed on EECU. I knew nothing about them. A signature here, a handshake there... Suddenly I am a member. After having the car 2 months I got a letter in the mail stating that if I did not go to a website that and upload my insurance that they would go ahead and buy my insurance at an exorbitant rate and just charge me. I uploaded my State Farm information and was declined by EECU. Turns out it didnt state them as having my car note clear enough. Thankfully, we got it hashed out. If this place is the Black Eyed Pea of financial institutions, my regular bank (First Convenience Bank) is the Taco Bueno of banks - delicious, quick, reliable, and I tried it the first time when I was 19. However, with Black Eyed Pea you at least expect service. Not the case here - I have gone in and paid my note twice (in person). I have never had a teller mention opening a bank account, or setting up internet access. That would help a lot, really. Every time I go in it's busy, so that's good news for them. I imagine people love it. There seems to be less negotiation going on at the window, unlike at First Convenience. I simply just do not foree tjis being an institution that I would enjoy holding an account at. read more

I made the mistake of purchasing a GMC truck. EECU was chosen by the dealer to finance the vehicle. Couple weeks later I get a letter from EECU threatening to drop the loan unless I send proof of insurance. I have NEVER, EVER had this problem with my other loans and I have had several. I left work early so I could get get them proof of insurance and avoid disaster. A couple years later I change insurance from GEICO to Progressive. A week later I get mail from EECU. They want proof of insurance or they will force me to pay $140 a month for their insurance. NONE, ZERO of my other vehicle loans do this to me. I have provided the information they requested but I will re-financing with another company. My experience with EECU has been terrible!!! Please choose anybody else. read more

If I could leave a zero I would . On May 16 my coworker referred me to this place to refinance my car loan . I did everything they asked me to do , 15 day pay off, Copy of DL, current rate and a lists of other things . I've been getting the run around and been doing all of their footwork . Today is June 6th and the refi still haven't closed because my 15 day payoff expires tomorrow and they want another one ! Poor customer service at its finest . She was so helpful and kind. She was super nice and knowledgeable. She took her time to answer all my questions and I definitely feel like I made the right decision to come to EECU. They treated me better than Wells Fargo has ever treated me after being with them for years. I will be closing my Wells Fargo account and moving my money to EECU. I tried to take out a loan with Wells Fargo and had almost enough money with them to pay cash for the car but since I am debt free they said I don't have enough credit. Well EECU stepped right in and approved me no problem. I will be banking with them and will gladly do so. Wells Fargo can kiss my money goodbye and EECU can say hello. read more

This is a shared credit union, so if you have a Credit Union in, say, Indianapolis, you can bank here. Some employees at other shared credit unions seem annoyed, as it is a little bit of extra work for them. The employees at this branch have always been friendly and helpful. They have never seemed put out by my requests. If you are looking for a Credit Union, and I highly recommend them over banks, you should look into EECU. read more

I've lived in Arlington for almost 4 years, and I'd never heard of this place before I went to purchase a new car from Don Davis Nissan. They offered an extremely favorable rate on my purchase, prompting me to come back and do more business with them. One disturbing thing I found, is that one member of the staff (unsure if she's new or what), gave me incorrect information, instead of just asking someone else for help. To be fair, I'm gonna state facts here and you can decide for yourself: First, I have had 3 loans with them in the past, process was easy, no complaints. My credit score was just under 600 and I was paying 12% interest. Now my credit score is about 630 and they decided to charge me 14% interest for my 4th loan (mind you, not once was I late on any of my payments with them). Fine, time was of essense and I was kind of pushed back to the wall. I was prequalified and just had to pick out a vehicle (I lived in the state of MN, my wife was already in TX and I was going to move to TX shortly as well). The folks I have dealt with in the past are Tina Downtown Ft. Worth office), the folks that work at their financing center that I have spoken to this last time are: Cynthia, Florence (the nicer one of the bunch), and Sahara. I started looking for cars in MN, first deal fell through because the car was not being sold by a franchised dealer, second deal fell through because the car was a 2003 and even though it was mint, one owner with 45xxx miles it didn't have anough equity (they only finance 2004s and up I was told), third car fell through because the address that was put on the purchase agreement was not my address in MN but the address I was moving to in El Paso (they knew all this BTW). It shall also be noted, that nobody bothered telling me the deals had fallen through in every single case. Meanwhile 5 days have gone by and I'm getting really ticked because nobody bothered telling me what the restrictions were, so much of my time and some of the underwriter's time was wasted (oh yeah and every deal that fell through was not communicated to me either when it fell through, I found out as a result of doing a follow-up, A+ you guys). Then I just called Tina (who knows me personally and who got me the first three loans) and asked if she could help. Apparently my application was interpreted as withdrawn when I complained to Sahara about what the point was of trying to find a car when every deal so far had fallen through because of their lack of communication from the get-go. I spoke to Tina on Wed eve, gave her all the info about the car, was supposed to fax in the purchase agreement the next day. Faxed in the purchase agreement at 8:15, followed up with her at 9:30 (I had expressed to everyone, including Tina, that I did not have much time and that I was in an even worse pinch now as a result of their A+ communication - I still had to drive the car to TX once purchased btw, and they knew that too). It took Tina an hour and fifteen minutes to forward my purchase agreement to her manager (even though I had told her the previous evening I'd do it first thing in the morning). Then the manager supposedly was in a meeting and she would check out my app once she came out of a meeting. Lunch time passed, no communication came from anyone, meanwhile I kept calling about every hour, couldn't get a hold of Tina, Left voicemails, e-mailed, got 1 reply to one of my 5 e-mails and one call back to one of my 7 or 8 phone calls asking me where I was planning on using the car, "Oh hi! Was I talking to the wall all this time????" Long story short, I kept calling and e-mailing, the day went by. I called Tina (final call) at 4:45 and just asked (aggravated at that point of time but not rude) if they were going to give me the loan or not, if not, to let me know such that I would figure out to do about my wife who had no transportation. Thu went by and I have I have to hear from them yet. I called the dealer, from whom I was purchasing the vehilcle the next day, they financed me in under 2 hours at a rate of 8.6% for 60 months when EECU would only do 36 months at 14%. Customer service standards = India. No clue what transpired, because as I stated earlier, my previous three loans were super easy. But this time, Epic fail in all aspects. On top of that Cynthia had the balls to tell me that they were doing me a favor by doing another loan for me after they had assumed my application withdrawn when I complained about the process (never-flippin-mind that 6 days had gone by because nobody paid attention in their business communication class in school, maybe they all took the same class). Laugh! What a joke! Never ever will I do business with these clowns again, they had my history, despite my not so great credit score I was always on time, but who cares, let's squeeze the guy a bit, shall we? read more
