My friend and I were visiting another friend in Tyler, Texas. He recommended going here for some fresh peaches. It was a nice little hour drive and upon arrival we see peaches, and peaches and more peaches. But, they also have preserves, honey, sauces, syrup, pickled vegetables, fresh vegetables. I had fun just looking at all of the canned goodies, and then when I went to check out, I was offered a zucchini bread and a warm cobbler taken out of the oven at that moment. So, yes, my greedy self bought the peach cobbler and I have to say that it's one of the best cobblers I ever had. I'm all about the crust and it has a beautiful tasty crust. Heck, I'm eating cobbler now with my coffee and relaxing back at home. The peaches are a good size and in one to two days they will be absolutely juicy and fully ripe. This is such a great place to go with your kids or even friends. It's the local Peach Farm in Pittsburg and they sell a variety of local grown produce and canned items. We usually come here for the honey that's Jarred. We also like buying fresh strawberries when they are in season and of course the peaches for my peach cobbler in the fall. You gotta stop in and try their ice creams. I have tried their blueberry and it was delicious. It's a lot for even a small so take a couple friends and each try their local favorites. They even carry lots of variety of hot sauce, jams, and plants. read more

We have been to Efurds several times. One time in particular I purchased a flat of strawberries. I was assured they were picked recently but when we got home over half were bad. We live far enough away that I wasn't going to drive back that day to return them. I called and spoke with a lady who was apologetic and said next time we come down she would give me a credit for the full flat. When we returned several months later our credit was honored with humble apologies. We have found the folks who work there to be friendly and very cordial and helpful. We make sure we visit at least once a year often two or three time. read more

Had another fun time at Efurd's today. Branched out and tried a small cup of cantaloupe ice cream with peach on top. They swirl it up tall like on a cone so it is plenty. My family tried mine and we all agreed that cantaloupe was awesome. Nice to look at the interesting old decor while you sit and eat. Bought a box of big pretty peaches, some plums, and peas. The peaches we ate on the way home were juicy and refreshing, but I think they will be sweeter if we let them sit and ripen a couple days. I hope Efurd's reads this because I was thrilled to find two new hot sauces that I'm crazy about, one with 25 mg sodium and one with zero sodium. Critter Dipper and Barn Burner. Need to come back and stock up for the winter. Also we are trying out the apricot preserves sweetened only with white grape juice. Love the healthy choices! If you can please create some very low sodium dill pickles or spicy dills, that would be great. Please tell me if I've overlooked some that you already have. Everyone is super nice there, too. I always make a stop here when I travel from Oklahoma to Louisiana. They have peach everything including: actual peaches, jelly/jam/marmalade, relish, salsa, syrup, dried peaches, and I'm sure other stuff I missed. Everything is made in house and is delicious. YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO TRY THE PEACH ICE CREAM! That's the whole reason I stop but I also pick up a couple jars of some goodness as well. If you're driving through definitely make a stop! read more

Normally you can find peach, blueberry, banana, vanilla, chocolate, but sometimes you can find strawberry, cantaloupe or sweet potato ice cream too. Don't knock it until you try it. Yummy!! Peaches were awesome as usual. The Canned jellies and jams and preserves were so good and so many to choose from. Had some homemade ice cream while I was there too. The peach, banana, and blueberry are my favorites!! Loaded up with 1/2 peck of peaches, blackberry jam, apricot preserves and peach preserves and some local honey. Had to leave before I ran up too big of a tab. Great place to come for fruits and veggies if you are in the area or passing thru stop in. All locally grown!! Peaches are great this year! So are the cantaloupe. I go for both, but the highlight is the homemade soft-serve ice cream in cup or waffle cone. My favorite flavors in order are: chocolate, pineapple, banana, strawberry, blueberry, peach, cantaloupe. Other fresh veggies including shelled purple hull peas, cream peas, and pinto beans. I gave one (1) star because I couldn't give less. Last Saturday, my 84 year old mother, who uses a walker, was yelled at by an employee & then by mom, pop & son efurd, who told her to leave or the police would be called. When my father & I tried to find out what had happened, we were yelled at also, & told to leave. As I was helping them to their vehicle, I stopped to help a young man in a wheel chair, trying to negotiate the "ramp" out of the building. Apparently the efurd's do not want to bother with the elderly or disabled. read more

I've been going to Efurd for years but this time is the worst. The peaches are hard and expensive, the plums were sour. The service is good nice and friendly and helpful. Very disappointed in peaches and picked one of the best looking boxes.
