It is made with a buttery hazelnut crust and currants. Not raspberries like I have always seen on the knock-offs. (Although admittedly, those are pretty good too....no harm, no foul......they just aren't really what linzer tortes really are.) Anyhow, it's a busy little shop and we had a private section upstairs to enjoy our coffee. Our guide told us to put the little chocolate in the coffee too. We took a cup to go (I know, very American of me). I ordered the Latte Macchiato with Oat Milk while my wife ordered a Moka (not realizing it is completely different than what she orders in America). I drank mine, and hers, and was very pleased with it. Jindrak has a large selection of baked goods. I was half heartedly checking things out when I saw a chocolate and strawberry pastry with a little vegan flag stuck in it. Excellent addition, from my perspective, so that I didn't have to inquire about the ingredients in everything. I took a pastry to go. Loved the texture and flavor of the dessert. Jindrak's service, vegan options and coffee all make it a worthwhile visit. The lack of vegan choices (only one during our visit) is the only thing holding it back from five stars.

Each time I go and look at the cakes in the glass cabinet I tell myself I'll try something new this time and I still end up with Guinness Cake. Cakes are on rotation so there are always new things to try. Have also had brunch here a few times. LOVE the homemade tomato bread that is served with eggs. Love this place. Staff are amazing (customer service DOES exist in Austria if you go to the right places ;)) and I love the little things like fresh flowers on each table and the teapots and mugs. The chocolate is still made by the same family that has owned the shop for generations. This chocolate shop has drawers of chocolates to sift through. This used to be a button shop for the royalty. The drawers were full of buttons that the royalty could pick from to be on their clothes. Now the drawers are filled with buttons of delicious chocolates. The staff was extremely helpful and very pleasant. Besides, who could be sour in a chocolate shop. It was some of the best chocolate we have ever had. We are keeping the hot chocolate mix for our trip to Tahoe later this year. It will be a way we can relive our amazing trip. I wanted to say thank you to the staff for being so friendly and helpful in selecting our chocolate. I gave it one Euro sign, but you could easily get carried away in here. We spent over $40 of chocolate because we knew we weren't going to be back anytime soon.
