After a simple move--picking up a pair of pants--my back went out completely. I was in excruciating, incapacitating pain. While sitting offered some relief, the transition to standing was unbearable; it felt like my whole back was lighting up. I reached out to Dr. O'Connor, and he got me in quickly. Using his years of experience and specialized tools, he worked on my back--bending, twisting, and carefully adjusting my spine. After about an hour of his targeted treatment, the pain was simply gone. It was absolutely amazing. This isn't the first time he's saved me, but this lower back incident was the most severe. But what breaks my heart is how unpleasant and unkind the staff has become. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but the woman who's been answering the phone lately is consistently rude, cold, and dismissive. It's exhausting and upsetting, especially when all I'm trying to do is make sure my child is taken care of. No parent should feel anxious or frustrated just trying to schedule an appointment. Every time I call or walk into the office, I brace myself for an unpleasant interaction--and that shouldn't be the case at a place that's supposed to provide care and compassion. I want to stay with this office because of Dr. Z, but the way the staff treats patients makes it hard to keep coming back. For several reasons, at this point, I need to go back to Kaiser, which he isn't a part of, so unfortunately, he won't be my primary care Doctor anymore. It's the only thing I regret about leaving Northbay. I feel like he cares about his patients. He's been a doctor long enough to have seen a lot things, so he usually knows what to do. He often has a scribe with him who takes note during my visits so he pays really good attention when we discuss my issues. I feel like he always addresses my issues and when I leave I always have a plan of action and understand whats happening. One time, I was walking down the hall back to leave and he heard me cough and asked me if I wanted him to "take a look at that." I honestly feel like he cares about my health way more then I do.

There are always 10 reasons why they cannot help you and there is never an easy solution. My wife has an auto-immune disease and needed a referral to another doctor to get screened for what may have been cancer. This is the kind of straight forward task that Dr. Naik's office has extreme difficulty with. There is not sense of urgency. Two months later, still no referral, and we are switching Doctors. They're now holding our medical records hostage which is very professional.

She was incompetent in her ability to convey information correctly, to fill out a form, and she asked me to approve her changing a diagnosis from a specialist as if I knew what it meant. I had to ask her to consult with someone who could help her which she refused, and then ask her to stop and get me a patient representative. She refused that as well and I had to beg for anyone to stand on the doorway to witness her. My wife had been asked to leave despite my asking her to stay as witness and advocate. I was truly scared of her causing me harm through her incompetence.
