First of all the only reason they got one star is because you had to give them at least one. Last fall my parents hired Eichelberger's to "trim "two mature trees in their front yard . They butchered both trees to the point where there is no growth on one and very little on the other . My parents contacted two other tree services to confirm what they thought; there is no hope for these trees to thrive. Shane was contacted to address the problem. He was rude and condescending to my parents. He inferred that my parents somehow did something to these trees to cause this problem. Also, he stated that he wasn't going to talk to them anymore . So, please do not use this business. Everyone can make a mistake but the attitude that Shane exhibited toward my parents is not acceptable. Also, the destruction of two healthy trees is unacceptable. read more

Talked with Shawn a little over 2 weeks ago. He gave me a price and i accepted his price. He said he would do the work within 2 weeks. Two weeks went by and i asked for an update. The tree was hitting the roof and some windows during winds. I asked him to please not butcher the tree but to trim enough to not have to do this for a few years. He got very offended that I would say that to a "Professional" and told me that they now did not want to do the job because he knew I was the type of customer that would never be satisfied. Well, I guess he was right, I am not satisfied with his "Professional" way of doing business. I've never done business with a contractor that you couldn't discuss things with. Worst tree service experience we have ever had. Contracted to take down six apple trees and grind out stumps. One stump was only ground down to just below the soil surface, leaving the majority of the stump intact. When we called them to report the problem, they refused to make it right or acknowledge that they bore any responsibility for their work at all. Buyer beware. This is the kind of contractor everyone worries about hiring, that will do a shoddy job, push you to pay before you can check on the quality of their handiwork, and then not stand behind their work in the end when a problem is discovered. read more

If you are looking for good customer service, look elsewhere. Although they got the job done, they left much to be desired. We had several roots still left in the ground after paying for removal service. When they came back to remove them they left 10 inch holes in the ground in multiple areas. (I have pictures i would be happy to share) Not to mention they knocked over our brick fire pit without so much as a phone call, but they did offer to pay for the broken bricks. I had them remove 3 large trees that were a potential hazard to my property. These trees were not the easiest to access and required a bucket truck. The estimate was considerably lower than other estimates. The job was completed in a timely manner and I was charged exactly what I was quoted. I really wish I had done more research before hiring this outfit to take down a 55ft sycamore in my front yard. They were really responsive in the quote department but communication is poor. They had quoted me what I felt was a reasonable price for the tree removal and grinding of the stump. I wasn't home when they came and did the tree but my wife said they did an ok job removing the tree with the exception of dropping a limb and damaging my front lawn. They were unprofessional while performing the tree removal using profanity in proximity to my children and throwing cigarette butts all over the job site. They left the job unfinished with no explanation as to why it wasn't finished. It took a phone call to figure out that their stump grinder was in the shop and that they would be back at a later date to grind the stump. Well they might as well not have come back because I really needed this stump ground down properly to re-pour my sidewalk and the job they did on the stump was a joke. We called to complain about the stump for two days leaving messages and no call back, he just showed up randomly on my front porch on a sunday and offered to take $50 off the stump price.
