The noice level was very good and my four dogs sleep through most of the work. They did a great job cleaning up and there was no one leaf or twig left when they were done. I had an emergency two years ago and and they came right away and were great.. They took down a very large maple near my den roof in a commanding way. My yard and all was fine. SO this year, I wanted three very large trunk removal spaces to grow grass better than on the wood chips. The contact says, They would take off the mulch, take down the tree, remove 1 foot of chips, add dirt, top soil, seed and straw. GUESS what... since June 4th, until August 4 all I have is weeds, some 2 feet high. I watered everyday, with out any instructions from them. The supervisor came out, added more seed. They take NO responsibility for the very large plots of weeds. DO NOT hire this landscaping service. I got three bids, they were the middle bid, $1,600 for weeds. As a 78 year old woman, I feel taken advantage of and this work was a sham. Do NOT HIRE this Landscaping group.

I noticed the Cumberland Valley truck doing work nearby. They responded quickly, showed up to review the request and suggested options. I received a written quote, including a copy of their liability insurance. I've hired them several times since, and the work is always done as discussed. Workers are very upbeat, efficient, and skilled. Cleanup can be a challenge because I am located in the Borough with a small fenced in yard. I have purchased many shrubs and trees from them. Not once did anyone say they do not guarantee the shrub or tree. Every tree I've purchased from them has been fine until now. I purchased 2 very large Laurels. I planted both the same day. When we put the one Laurel into the ground the ball of dirt fell apart and we saw there was practically no root. The other Laurel was fine. I sent pictures to Blacks to show them the problem but they replied no guarantee. So the one that the roots is doing fine. The one with poor roots has died. See photos I feel the shrub was not going to make it even if Blacks had installed it.

I heard back from Greg today, and he told me that he would only do an estimate if I paid him $75. I don't think he understands what an "estimate" means. He said that people take their estimates and don't use them. I guess that's because they're overpriced. I advised Greg that I'm in Florida and I need him to not only do the work, but also to water the tree and sod afterwards (extra work and money for him!) He still said he wanted to charge me $75 because he didn't believe me. Why would you want to give Black Landscape Contracting your business when they don't trust their customers? I'm won't allow anyone providing shrubs to my properties to buy them from Black Landscaping going forward after this experience. I'll support another business.
