Found just a few meters from museums, churches and the shops of Altstadt, opening hours of 12h00 on weekdays and 10h00 on Saturday ongoing till 18h00, it was after a brief wait that English-fluent servers placed three scoops in a bowl for 6€, the hard-packed texture immediately off-putting with "The Pancake" over-churned to the point of crystallization and only Butterkeks offering any real depth thanks to the roasted Nuts mingling with Chocolate and Shortbread.

Of especial note is the kirsch gelato. This is German SOUR cherry, not the sicky sweet stuff of American cherry vanilla. The gelato tastes almost medicinal at first. Then when you realize it is sour cherry rather than cherry cherry, the gelato gets a charm of its own. I was in love by the end of my cone. Topping it was a first rate frozen lemon yogurt. My wife's passion-fruit yogurt was top notch as well. Overall, a place I would want to come back to about 100 times. Per day.

Prices are also very civilised (1.20 euros per scoop). 5* for the ice cream itself. Limited selection but everything is good. 4* due to the location. Although I live around the corner, it's on a busy main thoroughfare. Sitting outside is a little noisy. So I always get takeaway. Bottom line: Recommended.

The man that was taking orders was very nice and patient. He took time to explain how it was working and what we could have, even if he was a bit overwhelmed. The ice cream is very good, the different flavors go very well together. Of course, it's more expensive than the usual ice creams but the quantity you get for 5€ - 6 rolls - is quite generous. Concerning the decor, I'm not a fan but that's not really important when you're having a good ice cream :)

The cherry chocolate was horrible, we tried to pass the cone between us to get rid of it as fast as possible. Had hardly any sugar and was just not good. The chocolate was pretty good and the blueberry not so much. The wait time was ridiculous. They had one woman scooping which is crazy considering its spring. The ice cream was ok, nothing to rave about. I guess people like it because of the exciting flavor combos but the ice cream itself is not the best consistency. Its almost watery instead of creamy.
