I ordered off of the restaurant week menu while my SO opted to order off of the regular one. He started with the calamari, which was quite good. Nice and light breading and not overcooked. We sampled the papaya salad (one of the best I've ever tasted), coconut fried rice with yellow curry, drunken noodles with shrimp and mango sticky rice. This was my first time trying mango sticky rice and I'm glad I did it here because Mexico has such excellent mangos. It was fantastic and is now a new favorite. The curry rice was also delicious but for me, was a lot of food, which is not a bad thing. A great value actually since I got three meals out of it! They also serve margaritas by the pitcher, which is literally illegal in the ridiculous state we are from so we were very excited at this option. The full pitcher was a bit much for 2 but my friends, not to worry! They do a half pitcher!!! Our server was so nice and did a great job. Food came out very quickly as well. We had a great time at Archie's Wok and it has been added to our list of musts when in PV.

I ordered take out since the wife wanted to stay in. Pork egg rolls, Mongolian curry beef, almond chicken and fried rice. I had a lemonade while I was waiting. Everything was packaged well (lids taped on, sauce servings with lids, wrapped in cling film. The food was tasty. While I was not much more than 5 minutes back to the hotel, the egg rolls were soggy. The sweet and sour sauce for them was very good, great flavor and not overly thick. I asked for the curry to be hot, but not too hot, it was pretty mild. Definitely worth giving it a shot when you're looking to switch things up. Like most of PV, it was good and it was spendy (about 1,400 MXD for 2 mains, combination fried rice and 3 pork egg rolls + 1 lemonade).

Unfortunately, Himitsu was the biggest disappointment of the stay. When the appetizers and entrées finally arrived, they were cold. We also had to repeatedly get the servers' attention for drink refills. There appeared to be two people handling our table--one for drinks and another for food--but the service still felt disconnected. The tempura ice cream was probably the best example of the experience that night. By the time it reached the table, it had completely melted. As soon as I tried to cut into it, the ice cream poured out like soup. It was disappointing, especially after waiting so long for the meal. Maybe I can on an off day but the vibe in the restaurant wasn't appealing. I didn't see people leaving looking satisfied.

Unlike the total farce which was our first experience here (you should read my previous review), this could not have possibly gone better. Service was prompt and courteous for both drinks and food, and the food itself was wonderfully delicious. So much so that you wonder if you're still in Mexico or were transported somewhere that Japanese and Asian Fusion is more common. This time we were seated in an area that had better AC flowing, and a view of the teppanyaki area for those that made reservations. That is the only place at the resort that takes a reservation. As I stated in other reviews, reservations should be allowed for large groups... as every time we showed up in our full 13 person quantity, it was like we just told the host that the apocalypse was currently in progress, and they freaked out. The appetizers are really good here, highlighted by what might actually be the best gyoza I have ever eaten. It doesn't stop there though, as there are a few sushi rolls to choose from that are well executed, and a nice little chicken sando that is good in concept, but just needs a different bread. The main courses are however, the stars of this show. The Mongolian Beef was beyond excellent, maybe even transformative. Highly marined, super tender, and I love the sauce which had caramelized onto it. It made you want to order another round... which we came back for another day and absolutely did. The chicken and steak fried rice was wonderfully presented with a soft boiled egg and dragon fruit. It was on par with most hibachi, I would say. The Mongolian beef was special. So as I said, roll up to Himitsu with a small party, everything is fine. Roll up with a big group, and chaos will ensue. More coaching is needed, but this 2 person experience was excellent.

Between the buffet and Pureza, the buffet is definitely worse, but not by much…read more During our stay at Hyatt Ziva we tried almost every restaurant and found Pureza to be our least favorite. While the service was very friendly, and the fried maki was amazing, our pad thai and egg rolls were merely so so, and the chicken rice dish I ordered was straight up not good. Because the appetizers weren't too bad, it's hard to give them less than a three since it was mainly the flavor profiles of the two main course dishes that were the issue, either with too much lemon or soy, or very bland. You can probably skip Pureza on your stay, hit up Blaze, and be much happier.
