Typical Mexican restaurant with good service. I ate here later in the day and the restaurant was empty. Serving sizes were large and the staff was very attentive. Chips and salsa are standard. Beverages come in large cups. There were not a lot of options in town but this is a good place to go if you are hungry. Next time I am in the area I would eat here again. read more

To be totally honest, I would give this place 2.5 stars if I could. We stopped here for lunch after visiting Poverty Point World Heritage Site after seeing that there were minimal lunch options in the area. The results were somewhat mixed. The decor is fun and bright. My husband really liked the hand-painted booths. Each table receives tortilla chips and salsa. The tortilla chips were the lightest I had ever tasted. In fact, they were so light, they would break into tiny pieces when attempting to scoop up the guacamole my husband ordered, which he said was bland. My husband got cheese enchiladas and I got carnitas. He enjoyed the enchiladas, especially the crema that was on top. My carnitas were very dry and tasted like they had been repurposed. It was somewhat slow and our server seemed distracted. it took a while to place our order. What was most problematic for me was the bone dry soap containers in the bathroom. If I can't properly wash my hands in there, then servers and kitchen staff can't either. I was really bothered by this. As a fellow Yelper noted, it is a little out of the way. Another great experience at El Alamo. The food is very tasty and the service is timely. A true gem off the beaten path on old hwy 80. We travel from Vicksburg (48 miles) to eat there every so often and are never disappointed. Highly recommend. read more

Not a bad Mexican place to go to. The waitress and waiters are pretty fast and you get your food on time. I'm not real crazy about the food because it's not authentic Mexican it's always fresh. The drinks are pretty good as well. read more

Was traveling from Kansas to Georgia and ended up spending the night in Delhi. Found El Alamo and was not disappointed. We've been in California for seven years and they always bragged about their Mexican food. I never got it, but maybe we just didn't find the right spot. El Alamo was by far the best Mexican food I'd eaten in years. Good service and excellent chips and salsa. If you're passing thru I'd suggest you stop and give it a try. read more

Fantastic good food! Difficult to find if you're just passing through town. It's on US 80 just east of Delhi, on the east bank of Bayou Macon. It was really quiet there, probably owing to the slightly isolated location, plus the time of day. The food was very well prepared and tasted fantastic! Decor was traditional Mexican restaurant items found in most places. Best part was the phenomenal service! The waitress was very sweet, kind, and accommodating, greeting everyone with a smile. I definitely recommend this place for anyone passing through Delhi that wants to get off the interstate and has a craving for good Mexican food! read more

pulled into this place while driving around. we were ready for some lunch. it turned out to be a little gem. the tortilla chips were extra thin and light, which i really appreciated. we ordered a mini taco plate, a side of guacamole, and some margaritas. it was fabulous. the tacos were little mini tortillas, with tender shredded pork, chopped white onions, and cilantro. yum yum, just the way i like them. guacamole, was tasty, and we were served a generous portion, and the margartitas were cold and refreshing. looking forward to returning read more

Spending the night nearby on our way through the area, we noticed the dinner options were limited. El Alamo had good reviews, so we drove the few miles our of our way to give it a try. The staff were all very friendly and seated us quickly. The chips and salsa we munched on while ordering were great. The chips are thin, just the way I like them. The salsa could have been a little spicier for me, but my husband, who can't handle the heat, thought it was perfect. I ordered chicken tacos. They were delicious with the most tender chicken you can imagine. My husband had enchiladas with a white sauce and he says they're the second best he's ever had. (A little restaurant in our hometown will always be #1!) Our food arrived quickly and we enjoyed all of it. We were in and out of the restaurant in under an hour, which was another plus. We would absolutely visit again and recommend to anyone passing through. It's worth the drive off of the highway. read more

Food was terrible. Ordered off lunch menu, then was told we had extra 3$ charge because they didn't know it was lunch menu we ordered from. They said there lunch menu is like kids size food and we got regular size food. . Ordered 2 chicken and shrimp fajita quesadilla. When came no shrimp, one had beef, and other had no vegetables. Also ordered chicken nuggets and fries which was burnt. And had get up to find waitress to ask for sour cream and lettuce , which was suppose to come with meal and didn't.
