My words: I love to visit old cemeteries and this one is a very spectacular. Ever since the show {Evita} opened in the West End of London in 1979, it brought light to both Evita and Buenos Aires to me. I also knew that one day I would be able to visit. That day was now. BA was an amazing place and finally going to the Casa Rosado just paved a path to visiting Evita's family mausoleum. I was not familiar with Recoleta Cemetery nor the amount of people who are interred here. I did watch some you tube movies about visiting here and while it really helped, it did not prepare me for the overall scope of this place. In conclusion... this place is beautiful and the stories that go with many of the sites are just amazing and even haunting. Remember that there is an entry fee and a line which moved very quickly. This building is a stunning example of Brutalist architecture. It genuinely looks like a sci-fi,…read moresteampunk fortress. The exterior is incredibly striking and is definitely the main reason to visit. If you decide to go inside, know that there is quite a bit of security. Entry is free, but you need an ID to get a keycard for the turnstiles (you drop it back in when you leave). The interior layout is a bit odd. There are some art exhibits you can wander through, and a main reading room on the 7th floor filled with students, though you need to request an extra ticket inside which is also free, to access that restricted area. Overall, the inside wasn't super interesting to me, but the exterior architecture alone makes it worth the trip.

They were way over the top- with crazy carved statues, marble columns, ornate parqueted floors, wildly carved fireplaces. We went to try and check it out, and got stonewalled when trying to buy tickets- apparently they can't sell tickets in advance. So when we showed up at the time they told us to be there when the tour starts, we waited around for an hour for them to get to start the tour. When they did, the tour ran over forty minutes longer than it was supposed to. We'd tour one room every twenty minutes or so. It was painfully slow. I could've walked through the whole place in a few minutes, but instead spent sooo much time scrutinizing over every little detail (in Espanol). It totally wasn't worth the admission price, and looking at pictures of their dance room would've done just fine with me. I was really disappointed with this attraction. For some reason, I thought the collection of cannons outside of this place was affiliated with it, and I'd get to see some guns, but that apparently is a different museum. I couldn't peace out of this palace fast enough.

It's not just Chinese, we found some Taiwanese and Korean happenings as well. There's a whole bunch of Asian restaurants in here, some stores to get Asian groceries, and a Buddhist Temple. The murals throughout the neighborhood are of things like Pandas and dragons. The large Chinese archway at the entrance to China Town was donated by the Chinese Communist Government. It turns out, they just came in and put it up. Didn't ask anyone, didn't talk to city planners, the neighborhood, just did it. Some people are still miffed about it. "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission" - Confucius This China Town's easily accessible by train. Easily walkable. Parking looks tough. The inscription on the arch reads: "The Chinese community in Argentina donates with affection this Arch on the occasion of the Bicentennial of May Revolution to the beautiful city of Buenos Aires and the great Argentine people thanking the generosity and love given to Chinese immigrants with the hope that the Chinese-Argentine friendship will last from generation to generation."

It is located the neighborhood of Puerto Madero, crosses over the Rio Dique and is not too far from Casa Rosada. This rotating footbridge was the first work from Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava in Latin America. The key attribute of the bridge is that it represents a couple dancing tango, with the white mast symbolizing the man and the curve of the bridge, the woman.
