Go Wildcats! It's EC time! It's EC time! What! What! (somewhere Tony A. is laughing because I got school pride!) My high school experience was pretty complete I would say: I was a member of the Associated Student Body (ASB...otherwise known as the Student Council). I was Senior Class President. I was Cross Country Captain. I was a 4 year Varsity Cross Country and 3 year Track Athlete. I was an Honors Student that graduated at the top of my class. I took Advanced Placement classes and got straight As. I handled my language requirement by sophomore year (it pays to migrate from peru to southern california when it comes to that). I went to all the dances, football games, basketball games, theater performances and music recitals! I was a part of a club called the Black Hat Society where we ate lunch, hung out with our favorite cool teacher, and discussed politics, culture and satanism. I went to parties and got drunk (but not ever before my junior year). I dated boys steadily through high school (one looser 1st semester freshman year, a great guy that now RIP second half of freshman year through junior year, and rob e. senior year). I built a float for homecoming my senior year.. and performed on it as well! (I was catwoman from batman and robyn for our superhero theme). I got to ditch class all the time because I was in ASB. I organized, mc'd and participated in pep rally's. I went on fieldtrips to major theme parks, including disneyland for grad night. I organized my prom... and my date was the prom king! http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=j46QH7rV60lZ9sGLusS3Uw&select=IeRR79asTYOzeupIPAUrPA&start=20 I enjoyed my english courses as well as social science courses, specially history and political science and the teachers who taught them! EL Camino has a huge campus... 3 different levels from all the way down at the track, to the gym and parking and theater, to the top cafeteria and classes. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/6t6_3CctJGYdrkzVttuVjQ?select=GaeBevEgNS-BdjaooUaPHA EC offered opportunities for those who wanted to take them. It was a diverse campus with many African American, Filipino, Samoan, Latino, White, etc... students. That meant, sometimes there was racial tension. Also, there was some gang violence considering its location and its size. There were many electives, clubs, and sports to be a member of, as well as after school activities. Also, plenty of honors and advanced placement classes. And... its a california distinguished school! But, like plenty of schools in california, it could have been better! Could have had newer and cleaner facilities (although they have since opened a spanking new science and math building... which looks exactly the same as our rival's: Oceanside High School). Also- some of the administration sucked. And the lunch food could have been healthier! ---------------- Alma Mater We pledge our hearts to brown and gold, the color of the hills and sun. As people we are many, but as Wildcats we are one. Our pride for you is deep within, our spirit strong and high. We'll hail to you dear alma mater, as the years go by. Our team will fight with honor, and strive for victory. El Camino Wildcats, forever we shall be.

That level of respect and care makes a lasting impact. As a family rooted in the surrounding neighborhood, we made a conscious decision to support our local middle school. We committed not only to being part of the community, but to actively contributing to it. We believe that if there's something we want to see improved or changed, it's our responsibility to step up and be part of that change and not rely on VUSD to raise our children. Like most things in life, what you invest is what you get in return and we've seen that firsthand. Our daughter is absolutely thriving. She maintains a 4.0 GPA while being actively involved in a variety of activities, including ASB, Backpacking Club, and sports. Beyond academics, she's growing socially and emotionally, building confidence and meaningful connections. So many amazing oppurtunites at this middle school! What stands out most is the unwavering dedication of the RMS staff. I've personally witnessed students who needed extra support truly flourish thanks to the care, encouragement, and commitment from teachers, counselors, and administrators. It's inspiring to see how much they pour into these kids every day. As a parent, it's an absolute privilege to be involved and to contribute to a community that is shaping the next generation in such a positive way. For anyone who may be on the fence, I highly encourage you to come see it for yourself. The leadership, staff, and students have worked incredibly hard to create something special at RMS and it shows. Go Wildcats!

Looking back now, I know it was the best decision we could have made for her. She has truly blossomed into an amazing young lady because of this school. She is involved in drama and choir, and her grades have improved from C's to earning a 3.5 GPA and receiving an award just yesterday. The teachers genuinely take the time to support and encourage their students, and the musical arts teachers are some of the most loving and giving women you could ever meet. We've also had the incredible opportunity to watch her perform at Padres games and other amazing events. Thank you to all the staff at Roosevelt for your love, dedication, and unwavering support. We are so grateful.

I truly cannot say enough positive things about this school. Throughout most of her middle and high school years, my daughter participated in the online program so she could pursue her surfing dreams. Her high school teacher, Deanna Benattia, was an incredible teacher during the last 4 years. She is kind, helpful, caring, patient, and goes above and beyond for my daughter. Thank you, Classical Academy.

She didn't follow the CDE requirements for IS at all and used her husband's position as assistant principal to protect her position. Instead of guidance we got weekly emails about her weekends with her kids and the weather! What a joke! What does that have to do with my child's education. Furthermore the interactive learning was far from interactive or synchronous! Instead my child watched boring videos from out of state teachers with no way to connect with anyone! I don't know about the other teachers just this teacher and I can't believe she gets paid to waste my child's time with a joke of an education. We tried to switch teachers but that didn't happen so we switched schools! I only wish we switched sooner!

When I first went there to sign my boys up, the demeanor of the children were very mellow. A very large number of them are very nice. Regarding how they dress, well, they're kids who can dress themselves 4-12th grade to be exact. They have to make their own decisions on some things at some point in their lives. We won't agree with them but they have to start somewhere (in my opinion). I would suggest the person from Carlsbad (Crystal) that had an issue with how the children looked, should stick to Carlsbad where she's more comfortable with how children look in a more affluent neighborhood. The receptionist has her moments but if it bothers you that much the director is very approachable. However regarding the students and faculty, for those who want their children to learn in a diverse environment with children that represents the US and the world, give it a try. I give it only 4 stars because their online educational software is extremely frustrating. On your child's end (their school issued laptop) you see the completed work with their score but on the teacher's end they don't see it completed. I was being a little tough on my son until I had him show me and realized that a large number of assignments his teacher said wasn't completed were completed on the days they were assigned. So, if they are still using that system, have your child take screenshots for their own proof if the teacher begins to say they are missing assignments but your child is adamant they completed them - double check just in case.

Also take what is written her as a long forgetten memory, beyond the statute of limitations. Don't worry most of the staff from back then are dead of retired. I was a terror to this school and it's faculty. Not only was a honor student, athlete and musician, but unlike the rest of those geeks I would ditch, do drugs, mouth off, not necessarily vandalize persay, but deface things and yeah just terrorize people. Fights, suspensions. Basically a Jekyll and Hyde of sorts in that my constant criticism was a waste of talent. Some things I remember was the sports programs of track, basketball, flag football (co-ed). A lot of firsts happened for me here. Most of which I can't publicly talk about (legally), but it was a good school because of the teachers. They cared more about me that I did. I remember eating a lot of pizza and cornuts while I was here. Puberty is rough for everyone too, so being the last full middle school class was nice(top of the class in elementary to middle of the road in middle school), unlike the class below us who went form a year from the top to being bottom rung the next year, never being the kings of the castle until final year in HS. I actually liked the aging campus because it had a full track, sort of sparwling with various levels instead of the track home flatness I'd been used to. It felt like college for a 12 year old. Anyhow I had great times, great memories and I learned a lot from here. I recommend going here from 1995-1997, probably way better than now.
