They have a bar food menu, and on Sunday had a nicer expanded dinner menu. Nice sandy bar/lounge area. The beach isn't great - weedy and rocky so not great for swimming. Be warned the breakfast or bar food can take over 30-45 minutes to arrive, so order as soon as you sit. They keep your passport for your entire stay as "collateral"????? We picked this place because of their Sunday night beach party. Sadly - while the beach party was well attended by lots of attractive people drinking happily, but I'm not understanding the earsplitting loud techno music that played until about 3 in the morning. At some point enough is enough. I was hoping for some latin music, maybe some chill music as the party got going......the music was like one long loud annoying song. The other nights we were there, also techno music just not as loud. Ever hear of latin music?

I have never had a ribeye with less fat. If not for the menu I would guess it was a filet mignon and not ribeye. I am not a filet mignon fan and even if I were I would prefer such a lean cut rare to medium-rare rather than the medium to medium-well of this cut. This much said service is exceptional and the complementary appetizer the kitchen sent out was quite good. The guacamole we ordered for an appetizer is pretty good though I wasn't fond of the tortilla chips.

So much so that aside from our dinner reservations that we had planned we decided to stop in Sunday the first full day of our vacation for lunch. Kelly is open From around 11 to 4 for lunch.. Things did not get off to an auspicious start and it went downhill from there. We showed up at around three there were plenty of seats available. They didn't finally see us until 315 and we didn't get aa waiter until 20 minutes after that. We ordered a couple of apps, soup and the paella. We also asked for sparkling wine, which they were pouring all around us, and they proceeded to tell us they didn't have any. Of course, that wasn't true as they continued to pour to other people something we didn't pick up on right away because it was our first day and we weren't sure if the sparkling was part of the House pours. The food finally came out around four or 415 easily an hour after we first arrived. The shrimp quesadillas were unremarkable. The soup was lukewarm. Had two muscles in it and a shrimp tail. The paella was also unremarkable. Needless to say, we were quite disappointed on both the service and the food quality. Unfortunately, that's not where this story ends. About an hour after eating I came down with food poisoning, which pretty much wrecked the rest of that day and the following Monday. Needless to say we took Helio off our list of places to eat dinner. I wouldn't go back there if you paid me. Luckily, the rest of the resort has a variety of restaurants that for exceed what Helios's offered. Eat here at your own risk. .

Here, they brought out many of the appetizers and desserts for us to taste a variety. She had salmon and I had steak; both were perfect. Special thank you to the team that took excellent care of us - Josue, Abigail, Enrique, and Aldofo. I will definitely come back here again before going home. The only reason I removed a star is because they advertise this as a mediterranian restaurant. However, it is not mediterranian. It was more of a general steak and seafood restaurant.

On Saturday night at a little after 10 pm, the pounding music started. Since my husband and I had to get up at 6 am to catch an early ferry and get to the airport, this was frustrating. By 11 pm I decided to walk out to the beach in the direction the music was coming from (which was toward Ixchel) to see what was going on. Honestly I thought it was just some people down on the beach partying. But no. As I approached Chimbo's which is a convenience store with an open air deck on the back of it, I noticed strobe lights and a DJ and his assistant (no one else inside whatsoever) cranking up the music so loud that when I went inside the music made my chest pound. Again, who was the music for? As there were zero patrons inside. I approached the assistant to ask if they could turn the music down a little because we had to catch an early flight and could hear the music 3 hotels away. I asked him if he was aware that there were literally hundreds of people inside the nearby hotels who weren't going to be able to sleep. He told me "No" over and over again...that he wouldn't turn it down. When I asked why he just shrugged his shoulders and blew me off. I then began to approach the dj himself to talk to him. After ignoring me for a few minutes he came around his equipment and slap/pushed me so hard on the right side of my chest that I almost fell flat on my face. Is this suitable behavior for a man to assault a woman? Very upset I went back to my hotel to ask if she could call the police because I had been assaulted. I then went back with the front desk person at my hotel to try to get her to talk to them. They flat refused to lower the volume. A woman who claimed to be one of the owners got in my face when I also asked her if she could turn it down and if she was aware that there were hundreds of people that weren't going to sleep tonight because of this. She cussed at me and told me "I dont care!". Cops were called. And of course they did nothing. The music seemed to only get louder and went on til after 4 a.m. When we checked out the next morning there was another couple in the lobby saying they got no sleep either. I have a small bruise on my arm where I was slapped by this man and the owner of this fine establishment (sarcasm) "doesnt care" that they are not only keeping people awake but also knows that her employee hits women and also "doesnt care". Chimbo's. Just thought you should know.

We ended up at a dead end where a friendly guy let us know we couldn't go any farther. That's when we noticed we discovered a restaurant perfectly situated near the water, and it turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. The setting is absolutely stunning. Picture crystal blue waters just a few feet from your table. It's the ideal spot to soak in the island vibes while enjoying a meal. The only small downside was the occasional vendor stopping by to sell something or sing, but they weren't pushy, so it didn't take away from the experience. I ordered the agua chile, which was fresh, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying, loaded with perfectly sautéed shrimp. To top it off, I enjoyed an ice-cold Michelob Ultra--such a refreshing pairing. We only had a few hours on the island, but we couldn't have picked a better place to eat by accident. Chimbos delivered delicious food, great service, and breathtaking views. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Isla Mujeres!

We were looking to relax and enjoy the water, and it was perfect for us with the server who accommodated our group very kindly. I think the quesadillas were the best in the menu! We got chicken quesadillas and they were savory and just what we need after a dip in the cool water. For the bed it's $500 MX pesos and every person in the party must pay at least $500 MX pesos in food and refreshments~ Towards the end, I am not sure if it was my friends lack of knowledge towards counting pesos or the waiter (who was different and gave us our check), but we had some miscommunication on tip amount, with different stories. I don't fault this on anyone. We were a large group, we paid in pesos, and the server who gave us our check was a different person. I think the first person who attended us and had a more accommodating and chill personality was absolutely great! This place only takes cash! Pesos or dollars~~ I recommend this place for mid week beach days, as a person who likes to have a chill day with cool vibes and good service! I was told of the usual weekend events, making the weekends seem like a good stop for a party/more extrovert atmosphere if that's your vibe for a weekend. Enjoyable! Thank for Green Demon!
