Great service and excellent vibes! Nice set up with decent sunset views. Strong drinks and attentive service. Perfect place to relax and have some drinks! Highly recommend.

I think they are living on their reputation. The "PainKiller" is supposed to be their signature margarita. I was bitterly disappointed. The ceviche on the other hand, was pretty good. Like most places on Isla, they prefer cash but will take cards if your bill is high enough. However, they will "convert" the cost before running your card which means it will get converted again on your statement. Bottom line, take Pesos and pay in cash. You're better off if you do. But the REAL bottom line is you'll be better off if you simply avoid it all together. It simply wasn't worth the trip. Bottom line- Tourist trap living on reputation. I won't go back.

We wandered in to Soggy Peso looking for something to do on a day when the power and water were out on the south end. Unfortunately that included Soggy Peso but to their credit they were still serving drinks and chips and pico. I imagine there's normally more of a party atmosphere but it was very quiet when we were there. No electricity to play music or lights on. However, bartenders were attentive and I appreciated that they were open and we could get out of the house. Margs were strong and pick was good.

Delicious pina colado Got the fish tacos and it was delicious. Tortilla itself was delicious. The shrimp ceviche has good flavor too. Tiny little beach front where you can see the ocean.

Great food, awesome service, and laid-back Kenny Chesney vibes. This place just feels like vacation. Soggy Peso Bar is one of those hidden gems on Isla Mujeres where you can kick back with your toes in the sand, a cold drink in hand, and not break the bank. Their drinks are strong and cheap, the portions are generous, and the staff makes you feel right at home. Whether you're here to chill with friends or just enjoy the view, this spot nails that carefree island feel. Definitely a must-visit if you're looking to eat well, drink cheap, and soak up some serious beach bar energy.

It's the vibe you want on the island when you just want to kick back with a cold beer or margarita. They also have food, including a daily special; we usually get the Sikil Pak (pumpkin seed) dip. It's under new management and a few things have changed since last year, but overall still a spot we have to swing into when we're on the island. It's mostly tourists/ex-pats, moreso than a locals hangout, but the bartenders are chill and it still has more of a divebar feel than fancy (which we prefer). As it caters to tourists the prices aren't dirt cheap but decent $4 beers and $8-9 cocktails. Tips: -- pretty sure it's cash only. -- They have a new sign that makes it easier to find but the bar is behind the building on the street -- just follow the signs. -- There are only a few golf cart spots in the lot directly out front of the bar, however a few feet away you'll see another sign that says Additional Soggy Peso parking and there's a huge lot there. -- if you walk past the bar you can take your drink to sit on the beach

We came here for some drinks and snacks. We got the onion rings and nachos. Nachos were pretty plain but VERY cheesy. We saw signs about no kids under 18, but it didn't seem to matter. We brought our kids with no problem. We enjoyed hanging out and seeing the restaurants dogs play. Service was friendly but slow.

    Anybody need a used cap?
    Jim C.

How can you not like a place called the Soggy Peso? This is a small place with used baseball caps affixed to nearly every spot where a baseball cap could be affixed. My wife and I only had drinks, but they did not disappoint. As you're leaving, the sign outside the place says "We hope you've been overserved." Mission accomplished. Should I ever find myself back on the island, I would definitely get away from the overly touristy places and come down here for a beverage or two -- just be careful if you drive your golf cart here!

New owners have brought in more business but there has been a slip in quality of the food being served. The biggest travesty of all is the margaritas have gotten smaller.

My favorite local spot! It hasn't changed at all over the last 10+ years. Fridays are my favorite because I love crispy tacos and they are still so affordable compared to the rest of the island. Be careful with the drinks....delicious by dangerous!

Armando was amazing--best bar and best margaritas on the whole island! It's a must visit if you're in isla mujeres for vacation.

Visited on 3/6/2026. Overpriced beer and very popular with tourists. Did not try any of their food. Mixed drinks were very strong

Drinks with a nice view, yes. Food, absolutely not. Easily the worst food we had on the island.
