I paid $63 usd for a trim and treatment. On the phone I confirmed the price and services I'd be getting and was told $600 pesos for cut treatment and style so I booked. At checkout they claimed it's actually $600 for haircut and another $600 for treatment. I didn't have time to be blow dried and they claimed to give me a discount for that but it was a lie I paid $1200 pesos. I like to tip generously but did not because I felt ripped off. Confirm pricing so you don't get the American tax.

He is an excellent stylist, master colorist and an overall nice guy. He is also well priced. He has cut my hair, and highlighted/low lighted my hair, always with a good result. I have very fine short hair that really does not grow fast at all. About a year ago , he and I decided to try tape in hair extensions to add volume and length to my hair. The results were absolutely amazing! Giovany helped me to source the very high quality, 100% natural, hair extensions directly from the manufacturer. They are custom blended and texturized perfectly to match my existing hair. This way the high quality extensions are extremely affordable. Better yet, they are reusable and can be highlighted or colored as desired. Anyway, adding extensions literally changed my life. I started turning heads like I never had before. Ask Giovany if extensions are a good option for you! It's amazing how cheap they are and you will be amazed by the response. If you are getting married or your daughter is preparing for her Quinceanera in PV, he also does make-up and styling for the entire party. I highly recommend him. His salon is well located close to Costco or he and his staff will travel to you for larger events. (It takes about 3 weeks to get custom extensions made, so be sure to contact him well before your event so they can be ordered). Giovany is also fluent in English as well as Spanish, so it is very easy to communicate with him. He has a warm, loving personality which makes him very easy to talk to as well. His training and knowledge of hair and color shines through when you talk with him. Giovanny has been doing hair for over 8 years and has completed courses here in Puerto Vallarta, Monterey and Guadalajara. He is a level 1 & 2 Master Colorist. His English is excellent as he lived and worked in Chicago for 3+ years. He brought his extended education and expertise back to Puerto Vallarta with him several years ago and has continued in the salon scene here. I live in PV for 3 to 4 months every year and have to say I would rather have Gio do my hair than my stylist back home. In NYC, the result has been hit and miss. Here, it has consistently been a hit, at about half the NYC price. I have worked with two stylists: one from Bakersfield, CA. whose discerning eye "discovered" the formula which worked best, and Lydia, who is from PV. Uli is particular and detailed, and works on one client at a time which is very refreshing compared to some places where the stylist is between clients.
