THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here after a Luche Libre show and still hungry. We got a table outside and was perusing through the menu before the owner brought us up to where the chefs were and gave us a show on how they made their birria soup dumplings. We got the leche de tigre and beef tail baos. Both presentations were great, I really enjoyed the leche de tigre ceviche. A must get! THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done for 2 dishes, a beer, and a cocktail was ~770 MXN. They have a tasting menu that I definitley want to try next time we're back!

We were seated almost immediately and our server was attentive from the start, which was a pleasant surprise considering how busy it was. I ordered the small pozole, and it was exactly what I needed. He was hoping for bolder flavors and a little more spice, but found them a bit bland. Overall, it was a good experience thanks to the quick service and satisfying pozole. I'd happily come back for the pozole, but I'd probably try something different than the chilaquiles next time.

The salt-crusted red snapper was prepared tableside by Rafael with serious skill. My husband and I shared it and it was incredible. The roasted olives with toast were the standout starter -- that olive oil was something else. Pork belly tacos were 5/5, and only two come which was the perfect amount. The rigatoni was surprisingly light, just right for a sunny patio start. My friends had margaritas and loved them. We weren't drinking but my mocktail was beautifully made and the tea was excellent. Easy to see why this is one of Roma Norte's favorites. We'll absolutely be back.

We loved the complimentary artichoke and Carajillo - coffee was with vanilla ice cream, a cinnamon pirouette type thing shaken with sugar, cinnamon and Licor 43. Delicious. No need for desert here. It's an intentionally swanky place so dress in your skintight black clothes.

We then kicked things off with the arancini, which set the tone right away--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly done. For mains, we shared a spread and honestly couldn't pick a favorite: the Octopus Tacos were tender and packed with flavor, the Rabbit Tacos were unique and delicious, and the roasted seasonal vegetables "al mojo de ajo" were simple but so satisfying. The marinated pan-fried salmon and fresh trout were both beautifully cooked and thoughtfully seasoned. Every dish felt intentional, beautifully presented and well executed. But the real showstoppers were the desserts. The fresh goat cheesecake with orange, grapefruit, and lemon was bright and perfectly balanced, and the whisky chocolate crème brûlée was rich, smooth, and unforgettable. Beautiful, "old world" setting, with open window views upstairs in good weather. This place is fancy without being stuffy. You'll receive a menu, but your daily choices are also written up on chalkboards on the wall. There's something here for everyone, from the serious carnivore to the reluctant vegetarian. Tragically, we had already grabbed a quick lunch before being invited by clients to dine here, but that didn't stop me or my co-worker from SALIVATING over every morsel of food brought out to our two hosts. We shared a wonderful cold meat and veggie platter and empanadas for appetizers, then watched jealously as they devoured two beautifully presented, perfectly cooked sizzling cuts of juicy steak. I had a mushroom soup and we also shared an unusual potato dish (a potato chip bowl with puffed potato chips, surrounded by potato sticks).
